Angry just called, no bed for me!!!! not impressed, got to call back at 1pm.
spub · 20/06/2006 08:33

Diddle, No!!!
God, you're all ready to go and now have to hang around til lunch. Bu**er. It does give you more time to hang out here and enjoy everyones's positive vibes, though.
The ttc after mc/c board seems like a long time ago, chuck. You are soooo right; this day has been a long one coming for you.
Best of luck and you'll be holding that gorgeous baby before you know it. Much love.

FN · 20/06/2006 09:43

Good luck Diddle, sorry about there being no bed, you never know little one might make a show before then Smile

Slink good luck, anytime for you too.

Gosh this is exciting isn't it Smile

cori · 20/06/2006 09:49

I am still lurking. Good luck Diddle. Cant wait for some more news. Grin

mygirllolipop · 20/06/2006 09:53

Diddle - gives you some more time to get lo out by yourself. Good luck and will watch email like hawk, hope DH can manage to type in the excitement!

slinkstah · 20/06/2006 10:31

snowboo- any news on ya BH, be careful with them and get it checked out, you are at risk of PTL with Incompetent cervix

HK- not you too with cramping! def get it checked we want to see you go to term this time:)

diddle- grrrr no bed! fingers crossed for you when you call later... so what do you plan to do today now? i would sun myself in the garden or watch a movie, do anything but pace around which i guess you might well be doing lol

my midwife is coming at 11ish, shall i ask her to check me again? if i am still 4cm i guess i might stay like that for ages, if however i am now 6cm i guess i am in the slowest labour ever.
do you think i should ask for a sweep? do you think it will make much difference considering i am dilated anyway?

Arabica · 20/06/2006 11:40

Crikey Slinkstah, how can you be so dilated but not in pain? With DS I was in agony hours before I even got to 3cm. Hope midwife can get things going. I don't know anything about sweeps, though. Maybe start a thread for Mears or Pupuce to find?
Diddle, good luck, hope they can sort you out this afternoon.
HK, hope you get reassurance, and SnowBoo, what's the connection between the soap and the iron levels (being a bit of a soap-sniffer myself)?

Ok all good news & bad news.
Good news looks like it is a big un'! I'm measuring 30 weeks (27+5 at the mo). Bad news is I have to go back in at 1pm to have a growth scan & cervix check. There's a tiny posibility I'll be in labour early so they want to check everything out, measure babba properly, check for thinning or dilation & if I'm thinning or dilated then it's steroids time for baby.
Because the pains are getting worse as opposed to better, they're not sure that's just plain old ligaments stretching, that it could be the start of labour but they're not too worried as baby seems on the largish side.
Will keep you all posted.
Diddle- Good luck hun!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wahooooo so exciting!!!
Slink- Hunny that's the weirdest labour I've ever heard of lol. Only you! Good luck to you too.
Hugs to everyone else.

HK - hope all goes well for you this afternoon and baby stays put for a bit longer. Baby probably big cos got all that nourishment at the beginning when lo was hiding. Smile

slinkstah · 20/06/2006 13:15

HK- glad the hospital are on it, hope your not in ptl, if you are, will they give tocolytics to stop contractions? wishing you luck at the hospital this afternoon xxx

my midwife came over and she checked me out and did a sweep which is only stretching the cervix a bit, she said my cervix is really elastic and is now 5-6cm dilated! im not in proper labour though not until the flipin contractions get going good and strong and regular.
well it has been the weirdest pg so i guess its bound to be a weird labour eh!

Wills · 20/06/2006 15:43

That is a weird labour Slink.
Good luck to both you and diddle!

oinker · 20/06/2006 17:34

slinkstah · 20/06/2006 18:11

oinker · 20/06/2006 19:57

Ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

How exciting?
Do you reckon baby Dids is here?

OP posts:
Wills · 20/06/2006 20:31

I do hope so. Oinker honey how you doing? Any update?

mygirllolipop · 20/06/2006 20:47

Oooooooooooooh Dids got a bed! Look forward to hearing some news soon! This is so exciting.
Slink- bless ya being 5-6cm and not proper labour, I bet the baby just falls out w/o you feeling pain!

SnowBoo · 20/06/2006 20:56

Ok, being a bit thick possibly. Whats PTL??

PAins are still there but not as bad as they were. Have a really bad urge to nest so built babys cot (with help of ds), hoovered their newly decorated room, done tons of washing (machine has been broken for a week) went to shop, stocked up with Dove, Dettol soap (fantastic stuff!), Flash Bathroom cleaner and good old Soap Flakes. Hung babys clothes in new wardrobe, sorted out hangers (WTF???) had large doses of cold yummy cucumber and am contemplating cleaning the bathroom. My poor mum is in bits as she is my birthing partner (dh will be at the non action end) and she is convinced i'm going to have him soon!

Slink, any news yet???? Even dh can't believe you are still on the pg thread! Get a move on and get to the post natal side!! And that goes for Diddle too. Grin

Hope all are well, haven't time to read thru all as have to et washing off line as i think it's gonna rain......

Sorry for the waffle.

SnowBoo · 20/06/2006 20:59

Ok, have now worked it out. Pre term labour. Correct? Pg fog going on, takes me a while to work these things out these days!

Will check in with mw tomorrow, just don't want to panic unduly and pester them with something silly.

Wills · 20/06/2006 21:10

Oh goodie more people joining us on the post preg thread. I have say (slight moan at poor petunia and cori here) but there's absolutely NO action there at the moment! Hey - not that I'm on mumsnet too much or what but more that I really got to like you all and can't wait to talk nipples, milk, sore bottoms and colour of their nappies! Grin

SnowBoo · 20/06/2006 21:14

Wills, can't WAIT to be there. So jealous of Slink and Diddle, and you for already being there! Hows it going? Am slightly concerned that i have actually forgotten what to do with a newborn. And changed my nieces bum the other day, what a SHOCK!! Forgot they could smell like that...Blush

Wills · 20/06/2006 21:51

cripes - ds is no 3 and I was completely lost!
