Hellkat - think i was a little hormonal yesterday, hope my message didn't upset you mate. was just a little concerned about you.

snowboo - 4 more weeks of football i'm afraid, the final is on the 9th July.

welcome bobbynog congratulations on your pregnancy, fantastic news, so sorry about your loss though. It makes the whole process so much harder doesn't it. But we are walking talking proof that there is hope. Look after yourself and try not to stress too much.

twocatsonthebed · 15/06/2006 11:52

Hello bobbynog and b3cky! B3cky - hope your results are good on Friday. And Bobbynog - I stil have that voice all of the time, even after three scans and 20 weeks. I do hope you can get an early scan - I did, and it was a reassurance.

And diddle - are you still here?!? In which case I'm not surprised you're hormonal...

I'm now 20 weeks (yay!) and had a scan yesterday, which was fine and lo is kicking around like a mad things (I was diagnosed hyperactive as a child and am now fearing the worst. I may never sleep again). I still hate scans as the first one I ever had discovered the miscarriage - I hadn't realised how worried I was, despite not sleeping properly for five days beforehand. But am now feeling much better. So now it's 3.5 weeks until the wedding, and that to worry about instead. But I do have a lovely flowery dress to wear, so that's something.

Hello everyone else too, and thanks for all the advice on the trousers. I will be scouring eBay over the weekend.

Missmibaby · 15/06/2006 16:08

Sorry to gatecrash. I have been on this thread before and just wanted to find out if anyone can talk really. Can anyone advise?
I went for my 20 week scan this morning and they found brightness in the baby's bowel. I have been referred to a consultant on Tuesday for further tests and scans. Apparently it could mean the baby has cystic fibrosis, downs syndrome or I have been infected by toxoplasmosis. I told myself I wasn't going to worry about it as there is not much I can do. But having had 2 previous miscarriages before this pregnancy I can feel the worry starting. I'm really just wantng to know if anyone has had similar experience. Just want to talk to someone really.

slinkstah · 15/06/2006 17:23

HK- yes call the mw asap if you get the pains again! we want you to go to term this time

welcome bobbynog :) its great to have a couple of new members as me and diddle will be leaving ya soon [sniffling sniff]

football is driving me mad too!! my dp has always hated football now all of a sudden he is into it and wanting to watch every game!

twocats- congrats on being half way:) the rest goes much quicker. glad your scan went well. have you everything organised yet for the wedding?

missmibaby- hiya didn't even know you were pg! congrats:) arabica has had to have some furthur investigations in her pg maybe she will be able to help you.

B3CCY · 15/06/2006 18:23

Bobbynog - congratulations and good luck with the prgnancy, make sure to let us know how the scan goes.

Missmi- I'm a fine one to talk but try not to stress too much. Why not call your midwife and talk through your concerns with her? I sometimes think they have more time for you than the hospital consultants.

Twocats - you say you had an early scan. Did you have any complictions to begin with?

Getting increasingly concerned today - still spotting, been nearly a week now????? Has anyone else had it go on this long? Blood taken again today - will get results tomorrow - wish me luck girls. Thanks for your support x.

mygirllolipop · 15/06/2006 20:40

Sorry not been on today, DD2's birthday so DH had day off and we went to a sfot play after school and then had a tea party with cake and she opened her presents.
HK - def see about those pains. I've been having a few sharp pains but I think it's to do with my asthma - dunno why they are all the way down though. As the weather has cooled they've eased off.
Diddle - was thinking of you getting the baby out today, wishing you a speedy labour.
Welcome bobbynog.
Congrats 2cats on reaching half way, I will find out what flavour we're having on Weds.
Missmibaby - hi love how are you doing? Arabica needed further investigations and something she found out was that a lot of the time these extra tests are just precautions and in the vast majority of cases nothing at all is wrong with the baby. Hope you find this comforting to know. remember we're here anytime you wanna drop in (which applies to anyone btw).
b3ccy - as HK said she bled for 26 days in her current pg. I also bled on and off for around 4wks IIRC in my last (successful) pg, it turned out to be a haematoma and nothing to worry about. Hope you find out some answers soon.

twocatsonthebed · 16/06/2006 10:00

Hello everyone! Another lovely day and I'm off work (yay) but do have to go and buy wedding shoes.

B3ccy - I had an early scan because I'd had a missed miscarriage at 11 weeks before (although the baby had stopped developing at 6), and the one thing I couldn't bear was the thought that I might be walking around thinking I was pregnant again. So my doctor very sweetly referred me for a scan at 7 weeks - we saw the heartbeat and I was much reassured.

Missmibaby -sorry I can't help on that one, but I've seen your other thread, so hope that some of that has helped you. Do let us know what happens on Tue

No news overnight then?!

bobbynog · 16/06/2006 11:42

The same thing happened to me two cats, but my doctor would not sesnd me for an early scan - apparantly the nhs's resources are stretched enough - so i am going to pay to have it done privately. Some people told me to lie and say i had some spotting but i really didn't want to tempt fate. Scan is booked for next thurs - i will be 8 weeks then.

Arabica · 16/06/2006 14:47

Hi everyone, not been online for a day, it feels like forever!
Missmibaby, my 20-week scan showed echogenic focus in the abdomen, whch I think is the same as you report--an area that's shown up bright white, like bone does. The most common cause for this is that the baby has swallowed a little bit of blood. This is completely harmless. However, it can (rarely) also be a sign that something more serious is wrong, which is why they want you to have further investigations. In my case the baby had brain cysts, too. These are also completely harmless in themselves and if it hadn't been for my age (over 40) no further investigations would have been recommended. However, they suggested amniocentesis because the 2 symptoms added together CAN (rarely) mean the baby has a chromosone problem called Edwards syndrome. I got the results in 2 days, all clear.
However they then discovered the baby had an unrelated brain problem--too much fluid on the brain. I'm still to discover what that means for the baby's development after many, many tests, all of which have so far been normal.
So, if you have any concerns at all or want to talk about anything to do with testing, scans, helpful websites, or abnormal results, feel free to talk to me here or CAT me.
Good luck xxxxxx

slinkstah · 16/06/2006 14:53

Hi everyone:)
My Midwife came round and examined me looking for any stitch left inside but there was none so i am releived- she said the pain must be scar tissue.
she also said that i am 4CM DIALATEDShock she felt the babys head too Shock
She then gave me reflexology to bring on labour:) so fingers crossed ill have my baby this weekend.
I am excitedGrin

FN · 16/06/2006 15:19

WOW slink! thats amazing......best of luck with the birth Grin

Diddle how you bearing up?

Arabica · 16/06/2006 15:21

Great news Slink! Good luck!

mygirllolipop · 16/06/2006 15:51

Slink - does this mean you are in labour then? Sounds like a silly question. Just wondering if your cervix will slowly open and stay like that for a while or if this means you will have baby soon. Hope it is the latter. Lovely MW giving you relexolgy. Good luck love.

SnowBoo · 16/06/2006 16:48

SLINK!!! Good news!!!! And i'm soooooo jealous. Feel like a house now but its all at the front.

Am now 33 weeks!!!!! YAY! Can't believe i've made it this far.... Only 4 weeks til stitch comes out and dr has a poke about....Grin

slinkstah · 16/06/2006 16:55

im not in labour exactly although the BH and other contractions must be doing something to my cervix.
I have been told to call the midwife when my contractions become regular and go on for an hour or more- even if they are not painful.
I wonder when i will go into proper labour- hopefully tonight i am finally ready! will keep ya all posted anyway:)

HellKat · 16/06/2006 17:50

Slink- wow babes!!! Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!
Go on darlin' you can do it!!!! I'll be thinking of you later & wishing you a speedy, easy labour. Good luck hun. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Diddle- Hope you now have lo firmly in your arms hunny xxxxxxxxxxxx Can't wait to hear a birth story.

Last two days I've been nesting big time!! I cleaned my kitchen top to bottom yesterday (even washed skirting boards, sides of cooker etc). Today, washed my windows, surrounds, skirting boards in my living room, washed the outside windows, dismantled a huge ivy monster which had grown up the wall (with the help of ds1) & even washed my recycling bin Shock. (so sad, did'nt want people to see it grubby & make assumptions lol). I'm worn out but still thinking what else can I do so tomorrow looks like I'll tackle ds2's room & sort out his old toys!
Ohhhhhh I'm a happy cleaning bunny Grin

How's everyone? Hope everyone's doing well, enjoying pg's & loads of choc Wink

oinker · 16/06/2006 20:40

Welcome to B3ccy and bobbynog.
Missmibaby - have posted on your other thread - Good luck on Tuesday.
Speak to you all in a couple of weeks. Take care.

slinkstah · 17/06/2006 10:05

snowboo- 4 weeks to go:) hope you have things ready.

hk- toy sort out is something i haven't done - i just couldn't face it. it would have took me days to tackle the kids room lol you are brave

wools have a fab holiday seeya in a fortnight:)

oinker · 17/06/2006 10:13

No news from Diddle since Thursday....

I wonder ????? Smile

mygirllolipop · 17/06/2006 14:13

Oooooooh exciting stuff for Diddle if no word...........
Slink - hopefully the snot means not long for you!
I am a lazy girl normally but in this heat I'm completely wiped out, can't be bothered to do anything. We've just lawn mowed, stimmed and chopped the garden but it still needs more. Have hoovered and swept but needs doing again! And can't put anymore washing out as it's gone cloudy. So that's why I'm on here then I'll read a book! I should also be tackling toys but there's always another day!

HellKat · 17/06/2006 16:36

Slink- Wahooooooooo to snotty undies!!! Wink Here's hoping it'll be happening for you soon.
I tackled ds2's room & feel very pleased. Took 4 big bags of toys to the charity shop & he now has room. Poor little man's got the diddiest room in the world so needs all the space he can get (just big enough for a cot bed & chest of drawers).

Diddle- Wherever you are, hope it went brilliantly. Shall email you x

Have a great weekend all xxxxxxxxxx

weewilliewinkie · 17/06/2006 17:23

Can I crash?

Just found out yesterday that I'm pregnant again! Yippee! But I'm so nervous about it. Lost my last baby at 15+2 weeks, it was a nightmare. It's taken us 4 months to get here again.

Anyway, wonder if anyone could tell me how you cope with the worry? I almost feel that it's inevitable that something will go wrong. I'm quite crampy - is that a bad sign? Feels so like my af is coming. The only symptoms I have just now are being totally exhausted, and my norks are a wee bit tender but nothing too bad. I know it's very early days but I almost wish for the sickness etc to reassure me all is well!

HellKat · 17/06/2006 17:36

Hiya! Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm currently 27+2 & can honestly say the worry does'nt go at all, just eases slightly. I'm alot less panicky since lo started kicking properly.
I've had loads of different twinges & pains with this pg (including heavy bleeding & being told I'd probably mc). Now I'm at the stage where I'm worried about another premmie birth but feeling more relaxed as weeks go on.

Only advice that I can give is how I've dealt with this pg so far. Enjoy every minute, every twinge even. That way god forbid, anything were to go wrong, you won't feel guilty about not enjoying it while you could. Also, once you get your lo in your arms, you'll feel damn proud about having enjoyed every minute! As your pg progresses, everytime you feel a negative (i.e god I hate this morning sickness, backache etc) try to replace it with "At least i'm still pg, at least this lo is healthy, that's all that matters". That mantra has helped me so many times so far.
None of us know what lies ahead to heres to healthy, happy, fat mamma's & chunky babbas Grin

Wow did'nt mean to write an essay Blush

weewilliewinkie · 17/06/2006 17:56

Thanks Hellkat! Glad to hear you're doing well. Know what you mean about making the most of the symptons - I honestly want morning sickness!

I'll speak to my midwife on Monday - she said she'd get me in for an early scan. Oh, it's all so scary and exciting - but dh and I don't want to get our hopes up, iykwim.
