ds is ok, i feel a bit guilty for not realising it could be broken before today.
unfortuanatly my friend just rang with stupid excuses so i really will have to find a stand in! and all family are all up north.

twocats- i got some lovely collots from dorothy perkins they are really comfy like wearing pj's but look like clothes:)

snowboo- 5 weeks whooo, how many weeks will you be then? thats great baby is 5lb already, i am jealous of your scans, have you had many? i have only had the normal dating and 20week and a few cervical scans before the stitch, and 1 very quick scan a few weeks ago to check baby was head down.

SnowBoo · 13/06/2006 22:15

Hi Slink! Still going then?? Hope something happens very soon for you love!

Will be 36+4 when stitch comes out so because i'm in a lot of pain he agreed to have a fiddle. And he has said all i need when stitch comes out is courage! So fingers crossed.... I think cos baby is so big he isn't too worried about giving a helping hand.

Have had so many scans i can't tell you exactly! Weekly before stitch, weekly after stitch til 22 weeks, then every 2 weeks til 28 weeks then every four weeks which takes me up to today! Have leucocytes in urine but everything else is fine. Just rib pain due to torn ligaments (ouch!) and baby big bum....Oh, he also thinks i'm slightly anaemic due to the soap eating thing! Must say, the care has been fantastic! But this is the last baby i shall be having as its far too draining.

So not long now and i'm counting. Ds and babys room should eb finished by Tuesday so i can then relax, pack my bag and put my feet up. And then find something for bros wedding......Argh....!

SnowBoo · 13/06/2006 22:18

And grrr to your friend. Does she not know you are due?????!! I have asked friend if i can drop him round at any point so luckily she hasn't booked anything for the next two months. Otherwise neighbours have offered if really stuck. Have you no neighbours who can go on standby?

B3CCY · 13/06/2006 22:36

Hi

Am new member to this site and given the title to the thread is 'pregnancy after miscarriage' thought I'd ask you for your words of wisdom as I'm terrified I'm having a miscarriage for the 3rd time.

Have had one healthy pregnancy and daughter is now 6. However 2 subsequent pregnancies ended in miscarriage in first trimesters (Jan 2004 and Feb 2005)

Am now 5 and half weeks pregnant, spotting and having period like pain which has increased after internal scan carried out today. Scan proved inconclusive so they are now testing BhCG in blood. Won't know if pregnancy is progressing until Friday.

I know I'm probably clutching at straws but has anyone has any similar experiences which have resulted in a positive outcome? I don't know how I'll cope if it happens again.

diddle · 14/06/2006 09:03

B3ccy - i had spotting during this pregnancy, and had a scan at 7 wks which showed baby was ok. I'm not surprised that in internal scan has made it worse though and 5 wks is very early for them to see much.
I am now 40+ wks and all is ok. so there is definitly hope, but i would take it easy if i were you. It is so easy to presume that all bleeding in early pregnancy is a miscarriage, especially if you've experienced one already, but there are many reasons for bleeding. Mine wasn;t coming from the baby at all, but from somewhere else inside me. Stay rested until friday, and all the best for your pregnancy.

mygirllolipop · 14/06/2006 09:16

Slink - I'm sorry to say but ditch both 'friends', you need to be able to rely on someone when you are in labour and you could do without worrying about other dc when you aren't there. It is DD2's 5th 2moro and as it's 'summer' we have bought her and DD1 roller blades, helmets, elbow and knee pads. Wouldn't dream of letting them use them without safety stuff even if they don't like it!
B3ccy - I've had some form of bleeding in all my pg's (except this one), and 3/4 were sucessful pgs.

SnowBoo · 14/06/2006 10:25

B3ccy, i too had early bleeding with all three of my pg's. Have one ds 3.5years, m/c with the second and am now 32 weeks pg. Just reat up til Friday and try not to worry, i know this is easier said than done!

Good luck!

slinkstah · 14/06/2006 12:15

HI and welcome B3ccy, hope everything goes ok, wishing you all the luck for friday, take diddles advice and rest up until then.

snowboo- i was 36+6 when i had the stitch out- now im 38+6!!! its been exactly a fortnight and no baby! Im starting to wish i had willed labour on after the stitch was taken out not tryed to stop it!
thats so good they have scanned you so regularly, i have heard good things about your hospital. Its a shame i haven't been scanned hardly i would have loved to know what size baby was etc as i was so sure i was going to have him early and so paniced about it all, my mind would have been at rest knowing he was 5lb or something.

mygirl- my "on call" friend feels guilty as she offered to pick dd up for me today lol, luckily i have a few other people that have offered to help if needed so i might have to call on them if neccessary. DS's friends mum called last night and i said to her that i wished she'd had called me when he'd hurt his arm, she said she thought he was fine etc and was a bit shocked, it was quite an awkward phone call and i didn't say much else im not very assertive when it comes to confrontation lol

I have decided to pop into the hospital clinic on friday to get drs to check my cervix as i am getting sharp pains in my cervix so i am going to get them to check the stitch has been removed fully. I don't trust the surgeon the other day as far as i could throw her she was in such a rush anyway and would not be surprised if she missed a bit of stitch, she did look completely confused whilst getting it out and she asked twice who did the stitch!

mygirllolipop · 14/06/2006 12:18

Slink - glad both friends are feeling suitable guilty! And good luck for seeing the hosp hope you won't need to!

Arabica · 14/06/2006 12:37

Slinkstah, that all sounds v stressful, especially with the friends thing. You really don't want to be worried about your other kids when you're trying to have your baby!
B3cca, welcome and hope you get good news from the hospital scan. I had spotting too and am now exactly 33wks. This is a great thread for support and shared experiences. If there's a pregnancy complication one of us has either been there or had a friend who did!
And hi to everyone else. SnowBoo, is your baby pretty large for dates? Cos I'm sure at my 32wk scan mine was only estimated to be just under 4lbs.

SnowBoo · 14/06/2006 14:28

Arabica, baby is two weeks ahead of his dates by their records, by mine he is exactly right! I'm 32+5 by their reckoning but i think its more like 34+5 but you never can tell.

Slink, thats so bad the way she took your stitch out. Def go back as it seems like something WANTS to happen but maybe can't. And the pains could be as you think, extra stitch left behind. I'm not too worried if he wants to come early as he is so big, in fact, am praying for it!

Hope all else are well xx

HellKat · 14/06/2006 16:21

Welcome b3ccy!
I had the same thing early on. I thought it would be m/c no.5 as I was bleeding heavily, clotting, cramping etc. I went on to bleed for 26 days. I was told by consultants, midwives & dr's that it would end in m/c but here I am 26+6! Good luck. Try to rest up.

Girls I need advice. On/off for the last few weeks I've been having contractions. Nothing to warrant major concern as even though they lasted a minute a time, I was only getting maybe one or two a day. They've been painful enough to stop me in my tracks (not like normal bh). Got back from shopping a little while ago & started getting pains. Alot more painful & stingy than usual but not feeling like contractions. It's really sore in the bottom of my womb, up through my pelvis & my lower back. It's more constant than contraction/like & not sure what to do. I definitely don't want to ring the mw or hospital unless it turns into an emergency, would rather be at home any day than stuck up at a hospital.
Really hoping someone else has had this & it turned out to be nothing.
Worried as anything here because I'm paranoid about another premmie labour.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

HellKat · 14/06/2006 16:38

News Flash
It's easing!!!! Wahoooo. panic stations over. Now for toffee pavlova, trashy mags & Big Brother. Smile

FN · 14/06/2006 16:41

Just seen your post HK hope things ease off for you hun x

diddle · 14/06/2006 17:24

HELLKAT - get your bum up to the maternity ward. you should not be having pains like that. Plus after all these weeks it is not worth risking baby or you for anything in the world.
If its nothing then fair enough, at least you'll know either way. There is no way i'd stay at home.
Think of what you would say to me if i was having such pains. you'd tell me to get my arse into gear.
You'll never forgive yourself if it was something and you never got it checked.

diddle · 14/06/2006 17:26

soz, don't mean to worry you, but we have all come so far, its just not worth the risk. You are totally entitled to be a worrying mother to be. At least call the maternity unit and check their advice.

B3CCY · 14/06/2006 18:25

Hi ladies.

Just got home from work to read your messages. Thanks, it has reassured me a bit.

Glad things are going well for you.

Had phone call from hospital this morning. BhCG level from yesterday's blood was 2310, have to go tomorrow so they can take more blood, will get results on Friday. Apparently if the levels double then it is sign it is progressing. Anyone know if this level is a good start?

Diddle - pain probably isn't anything to panic about but you should get yourself checked out, it will put your mind at rest.

Anyway thanks for welcoming me to this thread girls, I'll probably keep on checking in with you from time to time if that's okay. Mum lives other side of the world (results in huge phone bill) and friends/family who have had children or are expecting now have breezed through their pregnancies luckily. Just pleased to be able to chat with people who have had similar experiences

B3CCY · 14/06/2006 18:33

sorry meany hellkat not diddle - reading wrong box - new to this game

HellKat · 14/06/2006 19:07

Had a soak & they've totally gone. Could understand if I'd overdone it or anything but for once actually took it easy.
I promise if I get them again, then I will get in touch with the mw. As soon as they eased off, lo gave a reassuring somersault & has now proceeded to kick me constantly for the last 45 mins! I swear the boys were'nt this active. Oh it's wonderful getting this far Grin

Thanks girls xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

B3ccy- I'm trying to remember what my results were (had them back in Feb/March). I think my starting ones were 12something then shot all the way over 24 something (they more than doubled). Here's wishing you love & luck xxxxx Go to google & type in hcg blood tests & see what they come out with. You never know, you may find some answers.

SnowBoo · 14/06/2006 20:20

Well HK if its of any help i've been getting really back pains from quite early on, apparently they are BH's, just not the same as with ds! I thought it would be the same in each pg. And i'm still going at 32+5.

But if you get them again just call labour ward and double check. Better to put your mind at ease.

Am sitting here whilst dh and his buddy are watching bloody football again!!! Getting fed up with it. How much longer? Anyone know????

B3CCY · 14/06/2006 21:37

Sorry but 9th July is apparently the final! You'll only be a few weeks away by then!!!

Rodeo · 14/06/2006 23:24

Hellkat - get yourself checked out anyway lovey, just to be on the safe side :)
Diddle - Any day now! :) Wishing you a quick easy labour, really excited about your announcement! x x x xx x x x x x x x x x x xx x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x xx x x x xxxxxxxxxx xx x

Morning all.
Everything's nice & calm this end. If I get them between now & Tuesday, i'll call my mw. If not then I'll mention them anyway to my consultant (seeing her Tuesday morning).
As long as i can get to 34 wks (only 7wks away), that's when ds2 was born, then anything after that is a bonus.
Have a great day all & huge (((((((((((hugs)))))))))) to everyone for being so lovley xxxxxxxxx

bobbynog · 15/06/2006 10:06

Can i join?
I had a missed miscarriage in feb this year and am now happy to announce that i am 7 weeks pregnant. It is so hard - i am an emotional wreck! BUt i am hopefully going for a scan in the next week or so to put my mind a rest.
The sane part of me tells me that i feel so different this time it must be true, but the loudest voice shouts - you never know - iykwim!
