Arabica - I'm very pleased to hear your news and sorry that it took so long to tell you. I hope that Monday goes well for you.

Slink - What a horrible day you had. You must be so relieved to be at home. Take it easy.

Arabica · 01/06/2006 14:52

Yes we are really pleased. Have been out for lunch with DH to celebrate and am now supposed to be working, ha ha.
I'm going to find out more on Monday about what caused the delay in getting my results to me. It sounds like it was the radiology dept rather than the consultant in the fetal medicine dept. However, someone should still have been given the task to return my calls and set my mind at ease because I was imagining all sorts, along the lines of, they've found something so serious they need a second opinion/want to write rather than phone/are waiting until my consultant at my home hospital is back from his holiday to give me the bad news.

oinker · 01/06/2006 15:49

OMG Slink...Shock
What torture. Shock They'll have their day the sods!!!

At least you are home now. Rest up, you only have to get past Tuesday or squeeze baba out b4..Wink

Will be checking in. Smile

Arabica - good news! Grin

HellKat · 01/06/2006 19:13

Hiya all.
Slink- {{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}} Angry at the shitty treatment you've had. Ffs what do these people think they're dealing with? Even animals are treated better going to an slaughterhouse. You rest up babes & I'll be keeping my fingers crossed you don't have to deal with that hospital again.
Arabica- Congrats!!!!!!!! Wonderful news hun. So, so, so pleased for you. x

Big hiyas & {{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}} to everyone else!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Arabica · 01/06/2006 21:18

Good innit! I have even made my first baby purchase--someone on ebay was selling the buggy I wanted but in a limited edition, and I couldn't resist.

SnowBoo · 01/06/2006 22:28

Arabica - so pleased its good news! Now relax and rest!

Slink, love, i'm so sorry for your treatment! And so shocked. Told dh and he can't believe it either. Well i hope mine is an easier procedure. He has said i won't need the pain relief so thats good. Just take it easy from now on in and keep those feet up! Big hugs to you x

And hope everyone else is keeping well.

Off now til Monday, Dorset for the weekend to visit my sis as dh is leaving for Spain at 4:30am Friday (tomorrow) morning. Feeling a bit Sad but will get over it!

slinkstah · 02/06/2006 11:00

mornin:)

i have decided to not call the drs at the clinic and ask all the questions etc. i am gonna just chill and try to concentrate on the birth. I might even order a birth pool from birth pool in a box. what do you think?

i am also going to either ask my midwife to feel whether im dialated or not or feel myself, if im brave enough, i have a horrible feeling my cervix is a right mess and feeling it might freak me out. lol

anyway dp has been allowed to work from home so i don't have to get up for much which hopefully means delaying the birth till at least wednesday.

snowboo- how long is dh away for? Im sure your stitch removal will go easier than mine. when i had my last stitch (the rescue stitch which didn't work) when they took it out i had a tiny bit of gas n air and i didn't feel a thing.

arabica congrats on the first baby purchase, once you pop you can't stop:)

big hiyas to you HK and everyone else

Gizmo · 02/06/2006 14:07

Just popping in to say hooray to Arabica. Smile

Fingers crossed that will be the end of your worries for this pregnancy

Arabica · 02/06/2006 20:44

Ta Gizmo! Am going to do my level best to enjoy the rest of the pregnancy although there are bound to be more anxious moments as I think I will keep needing to have scans right up until the last couple of weeks.
Slink, pool in a box sounds like a good idea, have heard good things about them!

slinkstah · 04/06/2006 23:59

well everyone has been very quite this weekend, i guess you have all been sunning ya pg bellys in the garden!

wanna another TMI story???

am constipated still, in fact have only been once since i last complained about it about 2 weeks ago so it was time for something drastic as poor baby is competeing for space. so i did a glycerol suppository! well dp put it in as i was freaked by it. anyway it was painful but it workedGrin
and whilst im on the subject my farmer gile has shrunken a bit.

other news...
birth pool came, i am not gonna try it until labour as there just isn't room to leave it set up. but it looks great.
my contractions are irregular but i have been getting some pressure and pains in my cervix, im gonna try for labour wednesday morning.

diddle- your due date is coming up, how ya feeling? any signs, or are you getting peed off with people asking- i am, i have got people ringing asking all the while.

HellKat · 05/06/2006 05:37

Morning all.
Slink- Ohhhhh I had my first attack of constipation the other day. I'm normally a once a day gal but went about 3 days without going. Was'nt pleasant. Dp said "I always knew you were full of shite lol", cheeky git.
Can't believe you & Diddle are nearly there!!!!!!

I've been enjoying the sun & with the gorgeous weather, it's given me a new incentive to get stuff done. Spent the last few days sorting out ds2's baby clothes, getting them washed, ironed & popped into the airing cupboard. Now I'm excited Grin

Have a great day all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

mygirllolipop · 05/06/2006 09:05

It must be my brain but couldn't find this thread before, thought it got deleted or something.
sorry some of you have constipation, hope things work themselves out (no pun intended!)

slinkstah · 05/06/2006 11:28

HK and slinkstah are full of shit Grin

i washed babygrows the other day too, it freaked me out a bit, i really have no idea what to expect from a newborn baby. It has been almost 7 years since i had my dd1 and i can't remember anything.
im also so anxious about the birth, i am irrationally scared baby will not breath. i am dreading that moment and really hope baby breath straight away without me noticing his first cry/ breath.

anyway how many weeks are you HK and mygirl i can't belive how fast the time has passed the last few months!

mygirllolipop · 05/06/2006 11:29

Ah slink I'm only 18wks, it does seem to go fast but at the same time I am still a newbie here!

diddle · 05/06/2006 13:47

morning all - sounds like you're all doing ok.
Arabica - thank goodness you had good news, thats great.

Slink - yeh getting fed up of non pregnant daft people asking if i've had it yet. Like family members that would definitly have been called if it had popped out Angry only 3 days till due date for me, although i can see this baby being mega late, mainly because i have limited maternity leave, and should be at back quite soon after the birth. looks like i'll be changing that and having an extension.
Glad you've made it this far, stay horizontal and look after yourself.

HK - can't believe how fast this is going, how many weeks are you now??
Mygirl - there is no ONLY in 18 wks, you're almost half way, thats a big achievement, well done.

oinker · 05/06/2006 14:15

Hello you pregnant lot...

Just caught up and wanted to wish you soon to be mammas the best of luck.... Things seem to be progressing nicely..

Thinking of you all.x

Arabica · 05/06/2006 23:04

Hi everyone, Slink, I will be thinking of you tomorrow, hoping you don't give birth on 6/6/06.
Had another scan today (ultrasound not MRI). Fluid levels still increasing, so looking increasingly likely baby's having a shunt operation straight after birth to drain the excess fluid. Will know more at next appt, in 3-4 wks.

mygirllolipop · 06/06/2006 09:30

Yeah, let's hope no-one gives birth today if they don't want to.
DD3 has her MMR today so that's me seeing to a whingey baby for the next few days.
Arabica - hope all goes well at the apt and that the shunt is all the baby will need if at all.

slinkstah · 06/06/2006 10:47

mygirl - it doesn't seem long since your bfp:) 18 weeks is almost half way

oinker - hiya hope your doing ok, have you got a LR appointment soon?

arabica - what is a shunt operation? is it possible the fluid could be normal or is it a definate sign of something wrong? hope your lo is ok.

well i am not in labour:) although i had pelvis ache yesterday which i thought could have been an iminent sign. today i have alot of bleeding which has "show" like objects in it. blood is brown so assume its coming all from my poor cervix. aparently i bled alot in the op and they left a gauze in (what is that?) anyway its suppose to disintigrate inside me yuk!!!! maybe its that thats making my bleeding so yukky!
oooops another tmi post!

twocatsonthebed · 06/06/2006 11:01

morning all!

Slink - glad to hear you're holding on OK there and getting through today. You must be so pleased to have got to this stage.

Arabica - hope that the shunt turns out to be straightforward and that you're OK for now and that lo will be fine.

Diddle - still there? how are you managing in the heat?

HK - he he. I have had constipation since about week 3, and now live on a diet of over-ripe fruit, to only some effect. There is very little glamour in this pregnancy lark, is there?

I'm now at the interesting stage of being too fat for my normal clothes, but too tubular for maternity wear, which makes for some interesting times. I spent two days last week racing round London trying to hold my maternity jeans up. Very uncool. But I did at least get my wedding outfit - lovely pink brown silk frock with white flowing trousers underneath, which will be fine as long as my already excessive bust doesn't expand any further in the next month. So, no more Frappuccinos for me... Other than that, have 20 week scan next week, which I'm already starting to worry about, but never mind

Arabica · 06/06/2006 11:31

Hiya 2 cats, I can relate to the maternity jeans problem. I bought all mine second hand and they've obviously been stretched to the max, so even now at 8 months, there are a couple of pairs that I can't keep up. It's impossible to find belts that work (or at least I couldn't) because even a man's large size belt won't go around my huge bump!
Good luck for the 20wk scan. I've had scans at 8, 10, 13, 21, 22, 27, 28 and now 31wks, (and the MRI) and I've hated every single one of them...but after they find the heartbeat I always relax a little.
Slink, a show sounds exciting, maybe things are really starting to happen now.
With the fluid in baby's brain, the consultant told me yesterday that some babies simply have more fluid than others; but where the measurements are as high as mine they will often see developmental delay because the presence of the fluid means there isn't room for the brain to develop properly. However they can't predict antenatally how this will affect the baby. It certainly knows how to flip around--yesterday it was flinging its legs up in front of its face!
Am feeling OK with it all, I have my next scan on 5 July.

mygirllolipop · 06/06/2006 12:18

Arabica - I found belts a prob last time I was pg, not big enough for them yet! You must be feeling uncomfortable if LO is managing those movements!
Slink - hope you and Diddle have those babies soon, but not today if you don't want that! Feels like a long way off til I'm counting down days.

oinker · 06/06/2006 20:08

Slink,

I had the appointment today...
Won't bore everyone on here.

I have posted on TTC after m/c thread..

GOOD LUCK Smile

SnowBoo · 06/06/2006 21:14

Just had a quick look thru. Glad all seems well.

Slink, good luck and hope baby comes soon! Sounds like its imminent. Will find out next Tues what will happen at stitch removal so can't wait. The way its feeling baby will make an early arrival!

Well 'poor' dh came home y'day eve with a stinking hangover and in a right miserable mood. Cos he obviously didn't like a weekend of drinking and eating and sunbathing! But i guess it didn't help when i spoke to him Sunday and was having mega painful contractions from Sat eve he was ready to book the next flight home! So i think he is uptight with the waiting but won't say anything incase i get stressed.

Am officially as big as a house out front but from the back just look a bit big bum. I know i'm huge cos my neighbours comment 'Oh my god! Where has that come from?? You are massive!' kinda gave it away Grin. So big even dhs t-shirts don't fit me!

Well i will pop back tomorrow to see if there is any news on Slink. Rest up ladies! xx
