IM OUT!!!!!!!!
big story coming up....
what a day! it was horrible. no one was able to answer my questions and the only drs i saw was one who explained the risks but knew nothing of the procedure and the one who did the surgery who gave me one word answers on everything and basically did not seem like she had time to tell me anything.
The aneasthtist had to take a few trys to stick the bloody needle in my back and then shouted at me not to move when the only reason i moved was because her needle hit something in my back which caused agony in my foot and it to move of its own accord. then even after 10 minutes i could still move my toes so paniced the spinal did not work
but before all this there was a palava over getting a line into me as there always is- i told her to please use a vein on my right hand as my left never works, she said she would try anyway, i asked her again to not use my left hand but she was adamant she could do it. Anyway that went very wrong and she had to put it in my right! so now i am left with huge bruises on both hands!
then in the op the midwife dropped my leg when trying to put it in stirrups so im expecting a nice bruise there.
the dr who was doing the op was not gentle at all and she tucked the stitch so hard that i nearly was pulled off the operating table, she did this with no warning or anything. in the end the op took about 45 minutes and i thought it was suppose to take no more than 10 but the dr did not tell me anything about it so i was in a complete panic!
after they put a catheter in etc and gave me fluids etc i thought all was fine but started having painful contractions and told the midwifes who did not really pay much attention. i expected to be examined and put on a monitor after the procedure but nothing!
anyway after 5 hours i was in pain and moved my legs to reveal the catheter was plonked on the bed and was still empty, i called a midwife as i had had 2 wotsits of fluid and no pee was coming out! after 30 minutes no midwife still hadn't come, i was almost in tears at this point with the stress of it all, i noticed that i was completely sitting on the catheter tube, obviously unable to feel anything as i was still numb i unraveled the tube and dp found a thing that hangs the catheter bag and sorted it for me and sure enough it filled up finally and the pain dissapeared!
was discharged at 9 and i am having contractions which some have been painful, no one monitored me or examined me to see whether i was in labour. i don't care really as im home so thats the main thing.
i managed to pee my pants on the way to the loo though
don't think i have full feeling back yet after the spinal. however i am tucked up in bed nice and cosy and i am staying here for the foreseeable future :)
