Hope you get an answer today Arabica. Good luck.

Slink, sorry but i had to laugh too at your exploding pile! Grin Don't worry, put some cream on it twice today and once in the morn and you should be fine. So did your dh have a look? God, poor men and what they go thru Wink.

So why are you having a spinal? To have the stitch out? I'm just going in, he pulls it down and snip....its out. No pain relief needed this time. He reckoned only to put it in. They can irritate my cervix as much as they want when its my turn. Have three weddings from end July all in a row so would be nice to have a reason to not attend one.

Well good luck for tomorrow and hopefully we shall have a pg Slink for a little while longer.

As for chicken pox, i've had it twice so they can't be sure if i'm immune yet! Keep checking ds for spots so he has taken to checking me and telling me to rest and settle down!

Arabica · 30/05/2006 14:26

Am definitely supposed to get that call this afternoon, just rang hospital to check that the doctor was actually in the office. Am drinking my special herb tea--it's for water retention and I'm sure it's working wonders as I keep needing the loo which takes my mind off staring at the phone. Good luck with the pile cream Slink. I had one a while back and there are some threads in the archives about how to treat them, I found anusol worked for me!

mygirllolipop · 30/05/2006 15:16

Arabica - thinking of you this pm.
Slink - yep I guess that means I'm having a homebirth! I usd anusol and thought no cream on this earth is ever gonna stop this thing itching or make it shrink but after a couple of days it was shrunk and less sore, I haven't used it since but imagine I will when this baby puts more pressure on me! It could shrink yours a little by 2moro but if pain is a prob it will def help there. I am so glad I got the cream I was nearly too embarrassed to, but soooooo relieved I did!

slinkstah · 30/05/2006 16:16

6 hours till i get my body back after a spinal- i could labour and birth without noticing - eeeeeek
no no im not stressing dids.... honest lol

snowboo-i have to have a spinal because i have the shirokar stitch so its embedded into cervix so can't be pulled out so easily as the macdonald. still can't complain am just happy it worked.
that wedding you hope to miss thats your crazy SIL isn't it lol
yes my poor dp was made to look at my bumbum, not a pretty sight at the moBlush

any news yet arabica?

Arabica · 30/05/2006 18:57

No news. Spent late afternoon in park with DH and DS staring at clouds and wishing I wasn't pregnant because I am sure no news is bad news. Then chastising myself for feeling so negative and telling myself that the results have simply got lost in the hospital system, along with the memo that says pregnant women needing MRI scans are likely to be out of their minds with worry and need to be called back with explanations, rather than left panicking at home.

SnowBoo · 30/05/2006 20:49

Arabica thats a disgrace. Just stay calm and think no news is good news otherwise you will drive yourself insane hun. Hope you give them what for once they bother to call you.

Slink, crazy SIL has now called me as if theres been no prob! Now asking for my help. Surprise surprise. Will have to go as ds is pageboy (proud mummy!) and dh is one of the ushers (proud wifey!) Ds was pageboy at my wedding but i didn't really see much of him, too busy partying (HIM, not me!)
Good Good luck for tomorrow, hope it goes superbly. And don't worry about your 'grape' Once your numb you won't give a t**s!

Now trying to find more freebie sites! Anyone have ideas?

cori · 30/05/2006 21:54

mygirllolipop · 31/05/2006 09:14

Slink - hope it all goes smoothly today.
Arabica- how long is this now that you've had to wait? It's not on, have a hormonal hissy fit on the hospital no one will blame you cos you're pg!
Forgot to say yesterday, when I had my MW apt she said I was measuring a good few wks ahead of dates (I know dates are right so not worried) and asked if the other babies were big, she said this one will prob be bigger than DD3 who was 8lb 4 and a half! How am I gonna get this thing out, I'm, only 5ft 2!

HellKat · 31/05/2006 09:29

slinkstah · 31/05/2006 22:57

IM OUT!!!!!!!!

big story coming up....

what a day! it was horrible. no one was able to answer my questions and the only drs i saw was one who explained the risks but knew nothing of the procedure and the one who did the surgery who gave me one word answers on everything and basically did not seem like she had time to tell me anything.

The aneasthtist had to take a few trys to stick the bloody needle in my back and then shouted at me not to move when the only reason i moved was because her needle hit something in my back which caused agony in my foot and it to move of its own accord. then even after 10 minutes i could still move my toes so paniced the spinal did not workShock
but before all this there was a palava over getting a line into me as there always is- i told her to please use a vein on my right hand as my left never works, she said she would try anyway, i asked her again to not use my left hand but she was adamant she could do it. Anyway that went very wrong and she had to put it in my right! so now i am left with huge bruises on both hands!

then in the op the midwife dropped my leg when trying to put it in stirrups so im expecting a nice bruise there.
the dr who was doing the op was not gentle at all and she tucked the stitch so hard that i nearly was pulled off the operating table, she did this with no warning or anything. in the end the op took about 45 minutes and i thought it was suppose to take no more than 10 but the dr did not tell me anything about it so i was in a complete panic!

after they put a catheter in etc and gave me fluids etc i thought all was fine but started having painful contractions and told the midwifes who did not really pay much attention. i expected to be examined and put on a monitor after the procedure but nothing!

anyway after 5 hours i was in pain and moved my legs to reveal the catheter was plonked on the bed and was still empty, i called a midwife as i had had 2 wotsits of fluid and no pee was coming out! after 30 minutes no midwife still hadn't come, i was almost in tears at this point with the stress of it all, i noticed that i was completely sitting on the catheter tube, obviously unable to feel anything as i was still numb i unraveled the tube and dp found a thing that hangs the catheter bag and sorted it for me and sure enough it filled up finally and the pain dissapeared!

was discharged at 9 and i am having contractions which some have been painful, no one monitored me or examined me to see whether i was in labour. i don't care really as im home so thats the main thing.
i managed to pee my pants on the way to the loo thoughBlush don't think i have full feeling back yet after the spinal. however i am tucked up in bed nice and cosy and i am staying here for the foreseeable future :)

Arabica · 01/06/2006 00:07

Slink, that sounds like a real nightmare--it's as if nobody took time to treat you as a whole person, or listen to anything you said. Am angry for you because you have been through so much and need reassurance. I am so glad you are cosy at home with your DP. Sounds like the best place for you. Here's hoping you don't need to return to the hospital and have a lovely home birth!

Arabica · 01/06/2006 00:08

crikey it was pee wasn't it...not your waters breaking???

mygirllolipop · 01/06/2006 09:07

Slink - can only re-iterate what arabica said. Horrid treatment but like you say at least you are at home in case you are in labour. Did DP do the knicker sniffing thing to see if it was your waters? Anyway rest up love.

diddle · 01/06/2006 09:28

Slink - Shock Shock and Shock I am totally appalled once again at the c**p treatment you have had, they are flippin useless.
I hope you are more comfortable at home and that you have someone there with you. Make sure you call the community midwife if you have any worries.
And if you fancy a chat you know where i am, i'm at home all day so msn me if you need cheering up.

slinkstah · 01/06/2006 09:42

morning all:)

well contractions are not labour ones as i slept well:)
yes it was def weeweeBlush
i really want to know how dialated and effaced i am, i suppose it does not really matter. i have so many questions though like can i have a bath etc? and how much am i expected to bleed? and do i need an anti-d?
i am gonna try and ring one of the nice consultants tommorrow when i know they are in clinic. my community midwife is coming tommorrow too, she won't know the answers to my questions but she is nice and maybe she could track down a dr to find out for me.

my dp said that the first midwife just hated us thats why all the catheter stuff happened and why she didn't talk to me etc. he seems to think its because i have dreadlocks and it was hippy hatred yet again!

diddle · 01/06/2006 09:46

slink - good to see some smiles on your post! no way would they be like that because of your hair, would they?? thats awful.
make sure you get your questions answered!!!!, i'll be checking up on you missy Grin

Arabica · 01/06/2006 10:47

I got a result, good news--no extra problems, just the fluid. Find out more on Monday. Doesn't mean all gonna be hunkydory necessarily but at least the brain appears to be developing normally despite fluid.

slinkstah · 01/06/2006 12:53

WHOOHOOO arabica you must be relieved:)
