hiya oinker how are you doing?

my stitch is being taken out on the 31st may - 16 days and counting! can't believe ive almost made it to the finishing post.

snowboo- thats a shame about the smp, maybe dh can change employers mind.

i am constipated ... badly- i cant sit on the loo too long or "push" because i have such pressure and cervix pain if i do, i think i need to take something, is there anything i can take that will make me go tonight?
i am so full of s**te arghhhhhhhhBlush
was only last week i had the squits, dunno which is better!

SnowBoo · 15/05/2006 16:47

Gosh well done Slink! Not long to go now, lucky you!

Due to dh's work partner not paying me theres nothing we can do as you need proof of earnings and he hasn't any. Bloody typical. Its because i'm married to dh and they hate they fact that he was my director when we started dating and didn't tell them til i was three months pg. We'd been together for 10months before i fell pg but they see it that i'm after his money. Righto. Thats why i married him and we haven't got a pot to piss in.

Oh, take some Senocot (Fibregel in disguise!) Works wonders for me. Or, other alternative, a whole jar of green olives with chillis. Guaranteed to make you wanna go in the middle of a barbeque Blush

Hello Everybody,
Sorry its taken me so long to log in and make my announcement. ( I have never been off mumsnet for so long a stretch went before) My newest DS Nathaniel Arden was born by cesarean section at 11.10 am on Wednesday 10th of May. He weighed 71bs 11oz and is the spitting image of his brother at the same age. The section went well and was all a bit surreal, we arrived at hospital at 9.00 am, I walked into the operating theatre at 10.30 am it was weired watching all the doctors and nurses walking around, scrubbing up and preparing for the delivery of my baby. I was sat on the operating table, and could feel the baby moving about kicking etc not quite believing DS2 was about to be born. The consultant that operated was the same doctor that has seen me through all my antenatal appointments, organised all my scans etc. It was so nice to have someone I knew there performing the procedure and seeing me through the operation. I saw DS as soon as he was born , lifted straight up and over the screen for me to hold. He was then taken to be cleaned up etc and brought straight back to me and I held him through the rest of the operation. The whole cesarean was completely a pleasant experience. On the other hand recovery has not been so great, I am allergic to codeine, so they had difficulty getting pain relief right which was not pleasent. Eventually that was sorted after two days, DS 2 was feeding well and doing fine. I was discharged from hospital on Friday, my milk came in on Saturday, and as soon as that happened DS2 started having difficulty feeding. Constantly falling a sleep at the breast or feeding for hours at a time. The latter i can cope with but it is quite stressful when he falls asleep after 5 minutes of feeding and I cant wake him up again.
He also has a bit of colic which is not helping matters. I am determined to breast feed so don't want to resort to bottles and interfere with supply.
I also have developed some sort of neck problem which is causing me incredible pain (it may be from sleeping in awkward positions because I have been co sleeping with DS.) So though I am happy and relieved to have DS with me safe and well, I am not doing to good at the moment. Hopefully things will improve over the next couple of days.

I hope you are all doing well. I havent had a chance to catch up yet.

slinkstah · 15/05/2006 17:37

congratulations cori, we was all waiting with antipation for you to get out of hospital and let us know how things went:)
you will have to post us a pic on members profile thread so we can see your lovely little man.
sorry feeding is not going too well. i think thats always the way until you both get used to it. your cs sounds like a very positive experience too so thats fab. Glad your all well and home:)

Arabica · 15/05/2006 19:11

Ahhh, congratulations and glad the op was so calm and relaxing. I hope the neck gets better soon. Your body is still full of relaxin which makes strains and sprains more likely. You need an osteopath/physio/chiropractor who does home visits but in the meantime how about a cold pack on your neck for half an hour maybe five or six times a day?

Wills · 16/05/2006 08:24

Ah Cori that sounds like a lovely experience. I found bf just as hard second time around as first so you have my complete sympathy. May it settle very quickly.

Have a cold at the moment so went to bed super early to get a good night. So dd2 decided to get up at 5.30 this morning..... grrrrrr

diddle · 16/05/2006 09:03

wills - maternity leave is lovely, so nice to be going at a slower pace, especially today as i would have had my frist child arrive at 6.50 this morning and to still be in bed after 7 was heaven. Although i keep dreaming that the parents have forgotten and that someone will turn up on my doorstep Smile
If i were you, regarding the bleeding and orgasm situation, i think i personalyl would avoid it. Because you never know what might happen and although baby would be ok, as far as we know i wouldn't want to risk it.

I am very pleased in the nicest possible way that you are all fighting with your DP/h's, me too, i'm sure its not me and my hormones though Grin i wonder if our men are getting a little anxious about all this baby stuff.

Got to have a scan today, the doctor wasn't sure yesterday if baby was head down or not, so she is sending me off the get scanned. I will also find out how big baby is Shock

slinkstah · 16/05/2006 10:39

awww im jealous diddle, i would love to find out how big this LO is. I look huge but im sure i am not yet the size i was with my dd who was 7.7lb
hope babydids is head down.

how ya feeling today cori?
how are our pg after mc babies doing cori and petunia?

I got some laxitive stuff but managed to go before i used it - typical lol

petunia · 16/05/2006 12:31

Congratulations Cori.
slink- I'm doing OK, thanks. Rushed off my feet and just about managed to get round Sainsbury's this morning for the first time. Emily now weighs 7lbs 12 (6lbs 10 at birth) and is 3wks old on Thursday. Must be something in that there breastmilk!

Hope everyone is well (sorry can't mention individuals- it's hard work typing one-handed!) Need more people on a post-natal thread soon!

Wills · 16/05/2006 13:42

Cori/Petunia - Have you set one up??? If not may I suggest the

Success after miscarriage??? or something like that?

petunia · 16/05/2006 14:00

Wills- that sounds like a good name. See what Cori thinks- I think she started the "pg after miscarriage" threads, perhaps she should decide on the name.

stitchintime06 · 16/05/2006 14:51

Hello ladies
can I join you please. I have been lurking for a little while now and thought I should introduce myself properly and also to ask for some advice.
My husband and I lost our baby boy at 20+5 weeks at the end of November last year due to what is thought to be and incompetent cervix. I am now pregnant again 10 weeks (Due early December)and have just had my first appointment with the consultant. I'm really confused. I thought I would be offered a stitch at 13-14 weeks but the consultant thinks I should take pregesterone and have regular cervical scans and then a stitch later on if my cervix starts to shorten. I don't think if I can do this I'm worrying so much already to then have to worry if my cervix is shortening would all be too much. Can anyone give me some adivce please? I think the risk of having the stitch far out ways the risk of not having one I just could not go through another preterm labour at 20 weeks. If you've got this far Thanks for listening any advice gratefully recieved.
looking forward to getting to know you all
xxx

stitchintime06 · 16/05/2006 15:53

Anyone??

petunia · 16/05/2006 16:33

stitchintime- I think there are 2 ladies on here who have cervical stitches. Hope they'll be on here soon to help you.

stitchintime06 · 16/05/2006 16:43

Thanks Petunia and belate congrats
:)

slinkstah · 16/05/2006 16:59

hello stitchintime
welcome to the possy:)
i have an incompetent cervix too, so has snowboo on this thread, so your in good company.
i lost my baby girl at 23 weeks last may, i went into preterm labour and they did a rescue stitch which didn't work.
dr said the cause was infection

i got pg again a few months later, the drs said there was no chance of incompetent cervix due to the fact i had had 2 previous babies at term with no problems. however with alot of moaning they agreed to scan my cervix.
at 23 weeks my cervix was funnelled to 21mm and 1cm dialted and i was rushed in for another emergency stitch, this time i got out of hospital and the operation was completely successful as i am still pg (34.5 weeks)

if you had an infection last time then maybe agree to regular scanning but if there was nothing else that caused you to lose your baby then i would get a 2nd opinion and try and get a stitch done early as there are less risks having the stitch early than later.

hope we can all be of some support for you in the next few months of stress, i know how you feel i have paniced throughout this pg and have only just begun to realise that i will probably make it all the way thanks to the stitch:) and everyone here have put up with all my moans and panics.

Wills · 16/05/2006 17:30

But slink I wait daily for your descriptions.... Grin

I didn't have an incompetent cervix for my m/cs so I can't help in that respect but I totally understand the fear of pregnancy and therefore extend a massive welcome and please feel free to bring all the bad times here cos we'll always listen.

stitchintime06 · 16/05/2006 17:35

Thanks Slinkstah.
I'm so sorry for your loss.I had a similar situation I went into theatre to have a rescue stitch but fore waters had already broken.
Gosh 34.5 weeks you've given me hope already! I had loads of tests after m/c but nothing significant showed. Swabs that were done came back negative and all blood tests were fine so...not sure really. I'm trying to get a private appointment with a consultant that was reccomended to me and see what he says failing that I will just try and go for the stitch. Thanks for the message and look forward to chatting more but think it wont be long till your on the post natal thread Wink
Thanks again
x
p.s were you given progesterone?

stitchintime06 · 16/05/2006 17:39

Thanks Wills
its lovely to know I'm not alone in my paranoia
Grinwill keep you updated.

slinkstah · 16/05/2006 17:50

yes im always the one with the TMI storiesGrin but none today- no squits, constipation, itchies or alien beings dripping from me nethers lol!

stitchintime- yes i had progesterone pessarys from week 16 to 23 to help keep contractions at bay, but drs didn't seem to think it made much difference, all the drs i have seen have had different opinions on everything, it can get quite frustrating, as there isn't enough incompetent cervix research so really no one knows how best to deal with it.
i stopped taking the progesterone after the stitch op as i was worried about infection.

wools · 16/05/2006 18:07

Welcome Stitchintime and congratulations on your pregnancy. That's very hard - getting to 20 weeks and then losing your baby.... YOu're in the right place here - loads of ladies with good advice. We all worry here but it helps to talk through our anxieties with others who understand.

mygirllolipop · 16/05/2006 18:11

SnowBoo - what a pain in the @rse the whole SMP is, hope you get it sorted and get the most money!
Slink - can't believe you're bunged up! Bless ya.
Stitch in time - hope the two wonderful ladies with stitches can help you get to term with their advice.
Diddle - hope you are enjoying the mat leave.
Don't think the sickness I had a few days ago was MS as the whole family is sick, DH off 2day and prob 2moro, so prob won't get to post 2moro til an unusual time (for me).
Hope everyone is well, and congrats Cori for posting! hope you get the post-natal thread comes along nicely til there are more members. And pls can we have a photo of the little man?

twocatsonthebed · 16/05/2006 18:30

Hello Stich and welcome. As Wools said, we all have our own stresses and paranoias, and it does help to air them here!

Cori - hope you and Nathaniel are settling down nicely!

Diddle - glad you're relaxing into the maternity leave - hope you get to enjoy a bit of it. How are you feeling?

Snowboo - can't believe the tale about SMP, it's as illegal as illegal can be, but it doesn't sound like you're in a position to kick up a fuss. Grrr on your behalf.

Mygirl- hope you are feeling better now! Don't think I could face sick on top of MS, poor you.

Slink - so the end is in sight?! How are you feeling.

I had a consultant's appointment yesterday - all fine, although I am still surprised when they find a heartbeat. Every time I expect them to tell me that it's all been a mistake and there is nothing there. Am starting to feel more human now, which just means I have to get back to work and wedding plans, hey ho.

SnowBoo · 16/05/2006 19:28

Bloody men. Can't ever get anything right!

Hi to Stitch! And welcome.

Had my scan to see how big baby is. HUGE! 28+4 today and he is measuring 30/31 weeks already. She says his weight is estimated at 3lb 4oz already so get ready to push a biggy out. Thanks for that.

So am in tomorrow for GTT and have been told to reat when i get home. Dh can't see why i need his help tomorrow night. ITS THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. SO i told him to f**k off and i am going to my mums. He is getting really bad. And he has started smoking because of me. My fault. Whatever...

Sorry. Needed to get that off my chest.

Oh, one more thing, stitch comes out soonish and if baby is big have a chance they might bring him on at 37 weeks! Fingers crossed.

HellKat · 17/05/2006 06:17
