Hi
am remarkably quiet, because there is nothing to report. Believe me if i was having contractions you would all know about it. LOL

Dont worry wills, I know how you feel. This one has been quiet on a number of days as well.

Not even thinking about being 3 days overdue now, am focusing on Wednesday as due date.

Getting a few niggles, but always goes away so am not getting my hopes up.

Wills · 06/05/2006 20:32

Oh shame honey - I'd really started to hope.

Arabica · 06/05/2006 23:12

Congratulations on those great scans DHW and MGL. Hope everything OK Wills, and Cori's labour kicks off soon.
My appt at Harris Birthright isn't until next Thurs and apparently they don't automatically refer you for MRI, you get ultrasound first--fine by me as it means a second opinion. Am still really stressed but what can I do?

wools · 07/05/2006 08:04

Arabica - Glad you will get a second scan and 2nd opinion and I hope it means you won't have to have the MRI scan. I hope that the next few days pass quickly for you - Thursday still seems like a long way off. Thinking of you.

Wills · 07/05/2006 08:06

Arabica you must be about 27 to 29 weeks now? Honey I really feel for you. So are you having an MRI on Thursday or another scan.

HellKat · 07/05/2006 08:07

Morning all!
How's everyone on this grey day?
Got some great pics taken last night of ds2 kissing bump lol. It looks small from the side but massive from the front.
Cori-

mygirllolipop · 07/05/2006 09:16

Wills - you prob haven't got much room for baby to move in now. I'm sure it's fine but understand the worry.
HK - would have thought the pics would've been the other way around, looking huge from the side. I bet they're blessable tho.
Arabica - hope all goes well with referral and that there's nothing wrong.
Cori - hope you get some baby action soon!
Nothing exciting going on here today.

HellKat · 07/05/2006 09:44

Hiya hun.
I'll send you some lol. You can have a good ol' giggle. I'll send the new pics of ds2 too!

Wills · 07/05/2006 22:33

I'm sitting here worrying myself silly. Little one is moving but really not very much compared to a few days back. If you prod him, he will move but that's it. I've listened with my doppler and all sounds normal but who am I to know. I'm suddenly soooo scared to have come this far. There's no logic to my thinking, my m/cs were at 8 and 5 weeks so at 38 weeks you'd think I'd be happy as larry. Wish I could relax and enjoy but instead I feel the same sort of nerves that I felt at 5 to 12 weeks. That horrendous on edge permanently feeling. If I feel like this in the morning think I will hunt out a midwife and take myself along to get a proper check. Just keep wondering if I should be doing it tonight....

jamiesam · 07/05/2006 22:42

Wills

Just came on to lurk but had to post and say that my baby book says that you'd expect to feel less activity from around 36 weeks because there is less room. Does go on to say that if there are no movements at all, or suddenly much less than you are used to, then you should contact your doctor or midwife. Can you phone your midwife or labour ward? Labour ward in particular is open 24hrs and might be able to give advice over the phone. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about, but understand that you can't help but worry now you're so close. Good luck, you'll both be fine.

PS I'm 16 weeks today.

jamiesam · 07/05/2006 22:43

Ah, also says that ' there is less room for big turns or kicks... and you will be less aware of its smaller gestures'. Does that help at all?

Wills · 07/05/2006 22:58

Yes. Thanks. I've just been lying in the bath watching him move. I'm still not satisfied as the change is noticeable i.e. From about last thursday movement has seriously dropped. BUT I do realise he's with me still iyswim. but many many thanks for looking it up.

How are you feeling now?

diddle · 08/05/2006 07:48

mygirl - so glad your scan went well.

DHW - hope you're having a lovely holiday, and i am very impressed with the length of your scan thats excellent, must be so reassuring.

Petunia - she is gorgeous, makes me even more broody.

wills - your little one will be struggling to move very much now, maybe he/she's just run out of room, mine is moving but not as much, not as many kicks just turning round movements.
Hope you're calling the labour ward this morning, it is worth going just for the reassurance. I don't think there is anything wrong, but totally understand your concern.

Have been getting pains in my abdomen, a bit like period pains, with backache, but the pain doesn't always come with a contraction, my BH haven't been regular at all. wonder what on earth is going on. anyone else had these sort of pains??

Morning to everyone else, it is pissing it down here in the w.mids. miserable day.

Cori - its nearly wednesday already, how you feeling, any developments??

HellKat · 08/05/2006 08:09

Morning all.
Diddle- I've been getting dodgy pains and thank goodness I'm not a first timer or I'd be driving the mw crazy lol. Twice now they've started off feeling like contractions but only lasting for a few seconds. Thank god it was'nt that long ago i was in labour to remember what contractions felt like or I'd be a nervous wreck. I think it's just because I'm not that huge that babba's stretching everything out.
Just remember if they're short & irregular try not to worry.Any worries though hun ask your mw, that;s what they're for. Meant to ask you, when is they start seeing you every 2 weeks?
Wills- Hunny you're going through my next big fear. I'm so excited about giving birth but terrified something will happen at the last minute. What a rollercoaster of emotions these pg's have been for all of us on here.

Rainy, grey & dull here too!
Hope everyone has a great day x

mygirllolipop · 08/05/2006 08:42

HK - cheers for pics, amazing how bump looks bigger from front.
Diddle - you seem to be having an odd time of it, have you rang anybody about those pains?
Wills - baby hasn't got much room like jamiesam book says, but have you rang anybody also?

diddle · 08/05/2006 09:09

morning HK - glad i'm not the only one. I wondered if it would be how labour felt. but it definitly felt like period pains, and got me a little excited. Dh is now convinced i'll be having it today, just because he's working almost 4 hours away today. Will keep an eye on the pains, and see what happens, if they get too intense or start coming with contractions i'll definitly be calling the maternity unit.
I started seeing my midwife every 2 weeks, from 34 weeks, i won't see anyone more often than that. MIL mentioned that in the odl days they were seen every week towards the end, but thats not what will happen with me. I see the doctor next week then 2 weeks after that another midwife. all very confusing but counting the two weeks, makes it feel very close.
Mygirl - haven't spoken to anyone professional about the pains yet, want to see if it develops into anything. baby is still fairly active so i know that its ok, and i ahve my doppler to check the heartbeat. But i am keeping a close eye on it.

Just got back from school and i can't believe how slow i'm getting at walking, i'm sure i could go faster but its so odd how your body doesn't let you. This whole process is so amazing.

HellKat · 08/05/2006 09:17

Wow can't believe it's every 2 weeks instead of every week. Well done for keeping an eye on those pains. Even if they don't get really bad, if they start coming regularly & last roughly a minute (give or take a few seconds) then call someone.
here was me looking forward to seeing mine every week near the end lol.

diddle · 08/05/2006 09:24

might be different for you HK, different doctors/midwfes have different policies.
Yep will keep an eye on the pains. I feel really sick now as well. think i'm going to have a grotty day.

nickiey · 08/05/2006 09:25

Well Im 16 wks today and feeling ok-I've been told I'm allergic to the clexane injections so have had to stop them naturally I'm worried sick that i will now go onto miscarry.
Im in to see my consultant tomorrow to go over things and perhaps look for an alternative to the clexane but she doesn't hold out much hope as they are all fairly similar and likely to cause the same reaction in me.
Anyway for now, I'm still pregnant and strangly positive-we bought the pram home from my mums this week and it is reassuring to see it in the hallway.

Where did the sun go?

Wills · 08/05/2006 09:51

No sun here either but.... a baby that's been moving since 5 am this morning Grin. That's far more like I'm used to. Nevertheless I thought I'd do a chart of movements and if again little one doesn't move much for the rest of the day at least I'll have something to show an mw.

Diddle - get period pains all the time, find it strange as I didn't with both my dds, maybe its a boy thing Grin. Also getting odd braxton hicks that are sometimes painful sometimes not but scattered all over the place. Have done so for sometime now but I do find them weird. it doesn't help that dd2's labour started with very irregular contractions which I concluded was bh's but was in fact labour. Mind you there was a reason for that - my placenta had abrupted and as I don't have high bp now I'm assuming that all is well in there.

Many thanks everyone for your help. Just feeling very nervous again, like at the beginning which to me is soooo illogical. Oh well.

Wills · 08/05/2006 09:57

Sorry Nickey meant to say that hopefully the doctors feel that at 16 weeks Little One is full connected and up and growing and doesn't need the extra support. Having said that I know I'd be worrying too so you definitely have my full sympathy honey.

diddle · 08/05/2006 09:58

don't think i've felt this rough for a long time. feel so sick, plus baby has decided that it would be nice to kick me in the lungs, can feel my right lung getting squished and stopping my breathing properly. I'm tempted to take the afternoon off and rest.

Wills · 08/05/2006 10:00

You never know one day soon I might get my thoughts together and just do I post.

Diddle/HK - its fortnightly here but during dd2's pregnancy was weekly from 36 weeks onwards but no longer. Cut backs! Pisses me off. There was a trace in my sample last week so she has decided to see me weekly but was told that I was a special case. I don't mind being a special case but I can't help but feel a little bit frustrated that at 38 weeks pregnant seeing me weekly isn't going to exactly brake the NHS bank! Moan over.

Diddle - why the sickness?

diddle · 08/05/2006 10:09

Have no idea wills, just feel very nauseous, haven't eaten anything dodgy. i'm wondering if its tiredness, I didn't stop all weekend, and slept really badly the last few nights. Think i might just need to catch up a bit. Head aches too, which annoys the hell out of me because i can't take anything. paracetemol doesn't work on me, body is used to it i think.

Only got one child this morning until 12, so i'm taking it easy, and have just cancelled my afternoon child. so i can have a nap.

HellKat · 08/05/2006 10:10

Diddle- HellKat's orders hun: take the afternoon off, have a soak & get your feet up. There's alot of bugs around at the mo hun. Hope you feel better soon.
Wills- Hmmm wonder how often I'll be seeing the mw & consultant then. I'm under special care because of premature labour with ds2 & the mc's. Here's hoping it's every week.
