Hi I'm new to musket and feel a bit daft. I'm 28, married and a teacher so feel like I should be able to cope. I'm nearly 10 weeks and nausea is getting worse daily. I'm off today as didn't feel I could make it through the day. I'm so anxious that I haven't seen my baby ab d no one knows if it really is there ( stupid I know). I don't have anyone I can talk to so just after some reassurance really.

Congratulations smiler
I'm 39yo, expecting 1st LO and about 7 weeks now. It is overwhelming so I would t be too hard on yourself. I have to wait til mid Jan for my scan and am thinking about paying for an early scan just to check the bean I where he should be etc... I think the more symptoms you have the better you can feel in that your body is proving there is something going on. Apart from boobs and tiredness I have (thankfully) few symptoms but that stresses me incase there are problems I don't know.
The support ive found on mumsnet has been awesome so, welcome and ask away x

ScubaSarah · 07/12/2012 08:37

*wouldn't be too hard (bloody iPhone)

smiler389 · 07/12/2012 08:39

Sorry, LO = little one.
There is an acronym thread here somewhere x

smiler389 · 07/12/2012 08:40

(smile) lol I have a lot to learn about forums!

OP posts:
smiler389 · 07/12/2012 08:42

Have you looked into paying for an early scan? I feel the same. .can't stop worrying that it's ectopic or non existant :-(

OP posts:
MrsHoarder · 07/12/2012 08:45

The closer to 12 Weeks the scan happens the more accurate it us, that's why they keep doing them between Christmas and new year. So you don't want it brought forward.

And yes, vomiting means high levels of hormone so try not to worry.

Congratulations as well Thanks

smiler yes, I've put a call into MW but no reply as yet. Will follow up today.
I must admit to being nervous about being pushy with the MWs as I hear so many bad things about them on here :-(
I'm still learning about the forums, honestly, it like a different language x

ScubaSarah · 07/12/2012 08:50

And you're welcome!
This place is amazing for helping us all feel less alone I think x

smiler389 · 07/12/2012 08:55

Scuba oh no I dont want to hear mw horror stories! would be good to know what she says but I guess I only have 2 weeks to go. Crikey. Has anyone else had time off? I'm a generally ill kind of personand ironically have been really healthy at new school since Sep. feel really guilty!

Congratulations on your pregnancy!! All the midwives I ever deal with were lovely, but generally rushed off their feet so usually best to ring them with queries rather than asking at appointments as you know they aren't worrying about being late for next appointment :)

Most larger towns have companies you can pay to get an early scan ( google ultrasound scan yourtown, or 3D scan yourtown) where I live it's around £50 (you won't see much though in all honesty, personally I'd wait the 2 weeks). I had to have a scan at the EPU at hospital at 7 weeks as I was getting severe cramps, and although it was amazing to see its heartbeat, he wasn't baby shaped yet (looked like a bean) :)

smiler389 · 07/12/2012 09:16

thanks rockchick good advice. tbf I don't really have time before xmas anyway. and it is only 2 weeks. how far along are you if you don't mind me asking?

Jenjen85 · 07/12/2012 09:20

smiler I'm exactly the same this is our first baby an we have our scan in 2weeks but I'm worried that it will have either died weeks ago an I won't have known, it's an ectopic or it won't even be there. I know these are silly thoughts but you can't help but worry. Iv been signed off by the doctor now for the past 3 weeks next week will be my 4th due to morning sickness/exhaustion if you feel terrible dont feel bad for not working as you make yourself worse.

smiler389 · 07/12/2012 10:04

jenjen thank you for your post . it's proper scary isn't it. but like other people have said...sickness is meant to be a good sign. how are you planning on dealing with Christmas and telling people n stuff? I've got so many meals and drinks where I feel like it's gonna be really obvious but I don't want people to know until I'm sure and ok with it. :-/

Jenjen85 · 07/12/2012 10:16

Well we're going to tell people after our scan on 20th an I can't wait as I feel like I'm going to burst having this huge secret and not being able to share it yet!!! We're actually out for a meal tomorrow with the in laws an I'm dreading it cos I'm not eating much an I usually eat loads Sad not sure how ill get on as some smells set me off feeling sick too. I do have some anti sickness tablets that I'm taking so ill make sure I have one before we go out. We originally wanted to tell people Xmas day but I can't wait Smile

smiler389 · 07/12/2012 10:30
