Ready to pop and want baby OUT!!!

38 weeks today, and am really ready to have this baby! I know that realistically I could have almost another 4 weeks of feeling like this, but just want it sooner rather than later. I feel that all I am doing is cleaning the house, as I don't want to go into labour with a messy house (especially as I'm planning a home birth). DD3 arrived at 38+3, so all through this pregnancy, I've been expecting the same, or even a bit earlier, and I know that I'm putting too much pressure on myself to have the baby soon. I know that I'm being silly, and that the baby will arrive when it's ready, but each day now feels about a week long!

Oh dear funchum not the best of circumstances to find yourself in! Hope you still get results though, maybe the rushing around will have helped?!

I had third and final sweep this afternoon (luckily no fire alarms!) so now it's just a waiting game and lots of squats to try and move baby on before tomorrow morning.

Hope those experiencing twinges get some good developments over the weekend.

shouldIbecrossaboutthis · 28/09/2012 16:06

funchum8am, never thought I'd say these words in my enitre life. But, I'm so jealous of your sweep!

My cervix was too far away for the MW to get at Sad going for another on Tuesday and apparently have to have lots of sex leaning over chairs in the meantime Hmm

blondiep14 · 29/09/2012 09:29

How is everyone doing this fine sunny morning??

Any new arrivals?

Baby Blonde is still firmly in place so induction tomorrow is looking like a given Sad.
Just hope it all goes ok. Hear so many stories of inductions leading to 3 day labours leading to EMC's that I'm a bit terrified!

HeffalumpsAndGoldenWoozles · 29/09/2012 09:54

blondie I'm going in for induction at half 10 this morning, if it helps you my first induction was 3.5 hours with gas & air and no interventions or tearing so it can be done. I'm more scared now though having learnt all the scary facts since but trying to keep positive.

Good luck tomorrow, by next week our babies will be here :)

blondiep14 · 29/09/2012 09:58

Oh best of luck Hef hope all goes well.
Keep us posted on you and baby.

Sure I'm just being daft about it all anyway.
Had two spontaneous labours in MLU, so it's all new, and I'm not up for new right now Wink.
I'm trying to stay positive too - just a wibble, and sorry - probably exactly what you didn't want to read Flowers

shouldIbecrossaboutthis · 29/09/2012 12:59

good luck Heff!

blooblies · 29/09/2012 14:23

I hope heff is doing well today, and funchum poor you! MW managed a sweep for me on Thursday (my due date), thanks only to having had to walk loads in the morning. Baby is free floating when I wake in the mornings but had managed to get 1/5 engaged and I was gobsmacked to hear my cervix is central and soft (but long). Lots of twinges after that, but they have died down now. I've been getting some mucus too. Experience tells me I could have at least another week of this before anything establishes itself. Second sweep booked in for Tue then consultant appointment on Thursday to discuss why I want to decline induction.
Happy bouncing, walking, stepping, squatting, G&T-ing, etc. to you all this weekend!

Mikyahrose · 29/09/2012 15:23

I've had my 2nd sweep this morning, was much more postive than the first.

Baby is now engaged and my cervix is lovely and soft - like a blamange apparently! The midwife reckons there could be some action before the weekend is over.

If not though, i'm booked in for an induction on Monday morning. So its definitely gonna be all go in the next few days.

Good luck heff and blondie for tomorrow. Ooo 'citing!

funchum8am · 29/09/2012 18:29

Good luck to those being induced this weekend. If nothing happens beforehand I am booked in for Tuesday and will probably go ahead with it - I am SO uncomfortable and desperate to get on with it now!

HeffalumpsAndGoldenWoozles · 30/09/2012 00:00

She's here! We have another amazing DD, waters broken by midwife at 18:30, born super quick at 21:03 weighing a mighty 9lbs 8oz. And I got my water birth, whoopee! Grin

Good luck everyone still waiting, nearly there now!

Tiredmumno1 · 30/09/2012 02:29

Just spotted this thread, congratulations heffa, I hope the both of you are getting some well deserved rest, and you are enjoying baby snuggles Smile x

Msinterpret · 30/09/2012 07:51

Hooray Heff!

Inspiring to hear that water birth poss after MW ruptured membranes. She must have been ready! How many weeks/days were you in the end?

blondiep14 · 30/09/2012 09:44

We did it too!!
Supposed to be induced this afternoon but the contractions I'd been ignoring all day woke me up about 1.45am, then my waters started to go so we got here by 2am. Was 7cm and Scarlett was born in the waterpool at 4.58am! 9lb 3oz and perfect.

funchum8am · 30/09/2012 09:47

Congratulations heffalumps and blondie! It is great that you both got your water births! Still no news here....

blondiep14 · 30/09/2012 09:54

Hang in there fun. We're proof it can happen when you least expect it.
I know how shit it is waiting tho - chin up and eat lots of chocolate!

shouldIbecrossaboutthis · 30/09/2012 11:15

Congrats to Heff and blondie - so happy for you both and a little jealous. Both born in the pool too, yay! Flowers

Mikyahrose · 30/09/2012 11:55

Yey! More babies, well done girlies. :)

Still nothing happening my end. Do have period pains coming and going this morning, so hopefully thats a sign. Otherwise off at 7.30am tomorrow to be induced.

NAR4 · 30/09/2012 15:36

I had to be induced with my first 3, so decided to be more proactive with number 4. Was surprised when my waters broke with number 4, just 4 days past my due date. I ate loads of fresh pineapple, lots of long walks and bouncing on the ball, loads of sex and raspberry tea. Don't know if any of these actually helped but I will be repeating from 38 weeks onwards with number 5, as long as my placenta has moved up by then. A friend of mine swears by accupunture to start things off. Good luck everyone.

funchum8am · 01/10/2012 12:12

Nothing doing here so off to be induced tomorrow. All my brave words about waiting til 42 weeks have gone out of the window...I cannot carry on waiting! Can't wait to meet our baby.

Hope it is going well milkyahrose!

Moominsummermadness · 01/10/2012 13:09

Just popping in to say congratulations to heff and blondie. Hope all's going well for mikyahrose and funchum- all the best for tomorrow, hope it all goes well, it'll be so worth it when you have your beautiful snuggly baby at last!

shouldIbecrossaboutthis · 01/10/2012 15:25

Good luch with the induction funchum8am, I'll be following suit on Friday if my sweep on Tuesday doesn't work out!

blooblies · 01/10/2012 15:49

Good luck tomorrow funchum, I hope you sleep well tonight!

I've another sweep tomorrow but baby has moved up again so I'm not sure it will be possible. Then consultant appointment on Thursday and possible sweep then too. Then active management after that. Then the real waiting game starts... Sigh. I've run out of conversation to have with folk after answering the 'any twinges?' question for the 20th time every day with the same people every day....

HeffalumpsAndGoldenWoozles · 02/10/2012 00:04

She was born at 40 + 12 msinterpret, I was worried about the artificial rupturing leading on to more interventions but we were lucky, and you're right I think she was just ready :) Apparantly it was a full moon on Saturday and according to the midwife there's always a rush of babies on a full moon. Hadn't heard that before but won't argue!

Good luck tomorrow funchum

Hope all's going well and mikyahrose is back with baby news soon!

emzypoo · 02/10/2012 08:43

Hiya thought I may as well join this thread I'm 38 + 6 I'm so bored and starting to feel the baby is never going to come I've had period type pains for a week, backache and sharp twinges in my womb but no show or loss of plug, mw said baby was 4/5 engaged last week and I feel I should hold my bump now as pressure is immense I even weed myself a little yesterday lol the thought of goong another few weeks is so depressing realy hoping this is my week ! X

funchum8am · 02/10/2012 08:44

Rang the ward and have to ring again after 9 to find out whether they have a bed for me. I will weep if not!! Thanks for all the good luck wishes!
