Ready to pop and want baby OUT!!!

38 weeks today, and am really ready to have this baby! I know that realistically I could have almost another 4 weeks of feeling like this, but just want it sooner rather than later. I feel that all I am doing is cleaning the house, as I don't want to go into labour with a messy house (especially as I'm planning a home birth). DD3 arrived at 38+3, so all through this pregnancy, I've been expecting the same, or even a bit earlier, and I know that I'm putting too much pressure on myself to have the baby soon. I know that I'm being silly, and that the baby will arrive when it's ready, but each day now feels about a week long!

Morning all, checking in to see if anyone's had any news overnight. Nothing here still, I've a week to go until induction so will be bouncing on my ball like its going out of fashion.

blooblies it was good although I guess I'll have to wait and see if it's helped or not. It was like a lovely hand & foot massage for 80% of the time but with interspersed painful bits which I hadn't expected! I've got a session booked every two days until induction so hopefully baby will get the message! She did say though that because I've got a stinking cold at the moment my body might not allow labour to start until I can breath properly again, which sort of makes sense I suppose. So, cold remedies anyone?!

Hope everyone's feeling ok & there's some more babies very soon :)

Hello all.

Kept being woken up with pretty strong tightenings during the night so thought "ooh, this could be the start". When I could face checking the time I decided to time them. Couldn't have been less regular! 40 minutes, 20 minutes, 10 minutes, stopped.

Oh well! Only 38+1 so perhaps a bit hopeful.

milk · 21/09/2012 09:02

Today I'm 38+3. Sleeping is becoming so uncomfortable :(

DS labour started 39+5 so if this baby does the same I only have 9 days Grin I am praying!!!

milk · 21/09/2012 09:02

Oh, and I need to pee all the time :(

Moominsummermadness · 21/09/2012 09:47

Morning everyone, no news from me. Am now 40+1, so officially 'overdue'. I feel ok about it though, I know that even if I have to be induced, I will have 11 days max, so the end IS in sight. The only really annoying thing is the endless texts and phonecalls!

40+3 here now - and zip!

Have had period pain type cramps for well over a week now but they've come to nothing.
Loads of pressure too. Baby was 4/5ths engaged at last appointment, and boy does it feel like it!

Moan, moan, moan!
Sorry!

Moominsummermadness · 21/09/2012 18:43

Grrrr! Don't know what's got into me this evening- I feel soooo grumpy! I don't think it helps that DM insisted that we go to hers for a takeaway tonight. She was only trying to be kind, but she always starts fussing when I'm about to have a baby. Not only that, but they eat really late, she doesn't want us there til 8pm, will spend an hour faffing before ordering, so probably won't get to eat until 9.30-10pm! I just wanted a quiet night in with DH.

I think the grumps are an unavoidable part of it all, I've been really stroppy today too. However have been cheered up by my dad announcing super hot curry fest on him tonight, am now slightly more cheerfully awaiting my vindaloo :)

Hope everyone's managing to relax a bit in these last few days, I've been a bit daft this week and tried to get a bit too much done, but had a lovely hours snuggle and kip with DD on the sofa this afternoon which made me feel lots better.

flipflopper · 22/09/2012 11:15

Matilda born at 2.27am on friday.
Induced at 7pm by breaking waters, took a couple of hrs to get going, then quick 3-4hr labour.

Was a good experience. xxx

39+5 here and very jealous of all the babies, congratulations flipflopper on the arrival of Matilda Flowers.

Did anyone try nipple stimulation? Is there a technique?

blondiep14 · 22/09/2012 12:09

Huge congrats fliflopper

blondiep14 · 22/09/2012 12:10

FLIPFLOPPER even!

Msinterpret · 22/09/2012 12:27

Congrats to all the new mummies and delicious snugly babies!

39+1 here and doing ok, just sick of feeling like a whale. Had tightenings and lots of BHs and thought things might be happening before now but now feel it'll be a way off.

Just trying to think that they should all add up to moving things along more quickly in the end. (wishful thinking..,)

Moominsummermadness · 22/09/2012 14:21

Congratulations flipflopper!

I'm still waiting-curry last night didn't work. I have a totally irrational feeling that the baby is never going to arrive! I feel as though I'm going to be pregnant forever.

Oh me too Moomin, me too!

I was ranting/crying at DH this morning saying the baby was never going to come, ever!!

funchum8am · 22/09/2012 14:45

moomin I know exactly how you feel. I have managed a couple of times in the past couple of days to forget a baby is coming! Am worried about going mad with boredom next week as my nct friends are having their babies so aren't able to meet up...I just hope mine comes before about Thursday or I will have a totally blank calendar :( there are only so many cakes I can bake, books I can read and walks I can go on before I lose the plot!

whatsoever · 22/09/2012 15:56

Congrats flipflopper, sounds like a good labour.

Nothing doing with me. Did do the second hospital practice run today though, got it down to 20 minutes which was good.

Badgerina · 22/09/2012 17:11

Oh well done FlipFlopper! Smile Sounds like a great birth. Congratulations Grin xxx

paperclips · 22/09/2012 17:24

I burst into tears today in the street because my husband had to help me get out the car and I felt like such a pathetic beached whale.

Been grumpy today. All the periody achyness and tightenings I was getting yesterday and last night which felt promising had gone today. They are starting up again now but I don't think it means anything now.

Jealous of all people with beautiful new babies, lots of congratulations to you all though!

HeffalumpsAndGoldenWoozles · 22/09/2012 18:47

Huge congratulations flipflopper fantastic news Flowers

I'm also feeling as if I'll be pregnant forever, even though I know it's a week to go and at some point he/she will be born its just not feeling that way. We had DD's birthday party today & I remember planning the date ages ago thinking "ooh I will probably have a baby by then too..." but here we are still waiting!

HeffalumpsAndGoldenWoozles · 23/09/2012 10:45

Morning all how is everyone? I'm exhausted I woke up about 2ish last night to seriously itchy hands and feet which was spreading up my legs and everywhere, called NHS direct just in case and expecting to be told to go back to bed but they told me to call the midwife who told me to come in to hospital. So had to wake DH without putting him in a panic, and DM to look after DD while we were out. They took bloods, obs etc and said probably all ok but I'm still waiting for blood results. We're both so tired now and poor DD wants to play, all we can manage is "shall we watch the Gruffalo for the hundred millionth time ?" Hurry up baby I'm getting fed up now!

Hope all's well with everyone and the weekend gives us a few more babies :)

funchum8am · 23/09/2012 11:36

That sounds like a really stressful experience heffalumps, hope you're able to rest today. I think if I got into hospital now I would refuse to leave without a baby!

I finished knitting a baby blanket I have been working on for months yesterday and am irrationally annoyed to discover that baby was not just waiting for that...I think I had convinced myself that as I completed the last stitch, I would het my first contraction!

Moominsummermadness · 23/09/2012 13:40

Oh heffalumps! How awful! Hope that your results come back ok.

Isn't the feeling of being in limbo once past your due date a weird one. It feels strange literally having to take one day at a time, as each day you might go into labour. Actually having a lovely day with DD3, the older 2 are at their dad's, and DH is at work. I've taken DD to soft play up the road, and we've just had lunch together. Unless I still haven't had the baby by next Sunday, this will be the last day with just her for a while. Having said that, it would be very nice if the baby could please put in an appearance tonight!

You're so right moomin. You spend so long counting down to a date and once thats gone things change completely. There's nothing for me to work towards now. I'm currently 40+5 and just waiting. Doing all the things people suggest, but there really doesnt seem to be anything happening.

Off out for a curry tonight, maybe that'll work?

Moominsummermadness · 24/09/2012 08:00

Morning ladies.

Have had a night of false labour. I woke up with contractions at 1am, were about 7 mins apart. Didn't get stronger though, although they kept me awake, then fizzled out at 6am. I'm so tired! I know it's probably just my body gearing up, but it's so disappointing
