Tall husbands = big babies ???

How tall are your husbands and how big were your babies?
I'm just wondering if there is any correlation as my htb is 6'4", which makes me in first time pregnancy very afraid indeed lol.

Don't worry, nature usually follows the mum for the size of the baby. My OH is 6 foot and used to be a rugby player (he is a big lad). I am a small framed 5'1".

All my baby's were around 7.5lbs and the births were straightforward. My oldest towers over me and is obviously going to be tall, but she wasn't too big as a baby.

Not in my case, dd1's bio dad was 6'4" and she was 7lb 9oz but quite a long baby, dp is about 5'11" and our babies were 6lb7oz, 8lb11oz and 7lb 0.5oz

DD1 has taken after her bio dad as she has got older and is considerably taller than everyone else in her class.

Dh 6ft 4, ds 9lb 5oz but I am 5ft 9 so who knows.

You probably won't like this, but...

DH 6ft5 - DD1 9 pounds 11.

However, DD2 was only 7 pounds 14 . Though she was cooked for 9 less days than DD1 - I think if she'd been born at the same gestation she'd have been 9 pounds, but she was delivered at 39 weeks by ELCS.

I knew a 5 foot lady have a 9 pounder to a short hubby.

Tall ex, and I was over 9 lb, I had just over 6lb and just over 7lb long babies, the bigger baby had a big head like their Dad.

He's 5ft 9 and our first child was 10lb 4oz and our second was 10lb 5oz

I'm 5ft 1 and a bit.

(when I say I think she'd have been 9 pounds I mean I followed the centile line for where she was at 39 weeks gestation across to 40+2 when DD1 was born and that put her at about 9 pounds)

I should add that my mum is around 5'4" and I was over ten pounds when I was born! She had me at home, with no complications. I suspect it is not the size of the baby, as such, but the circumference of it head.

So even a big baby does not necessarily equal a tough labour.

6 ft 2, 5 ft 8, and 7.5lbs.

It's actually two of the smaller stature couples amongst my friends that have had the biggest babies. 5 ft 9 and 5 ft 5 - 11.5lbs. 5 ft 10 and 5 ft 3 - 12lbs.

I am 5'2" and weighed 5lb 12oz at birth.

Dh is 6'4" and weighed 9lb 4 oz at birth.

Our babies were 9lb 2oz and 8lb 15oz.

DP 6'4", me 5'7". Dd1 7lb 2.5oz, so not so bad...depressingly dd2 was 9lb 6.5oz and dd3 9lb 4.5oz.

The HV commented on dd1 big head, glad I didnt have a natural birth, she has the same head as her Dad. I would worry if either of you has a big head over being tall.

I'm size 8-10 and my husband is a rugby player but only 5'10.
My son was 9lb 5 born.

Ex dp - 6ft 3in - Was 10lb 4oz when he was born
Me - 5ft 5in - Was 6lb 2oz

Ds - 4lb 15oz (was 5 weeks early)
Dd1 - 8lb 11oz
Dd2 - 8lb 15.5oz

Dp - He's about 5ft 9in - Don't know his birthweight

Dd3 - 7lb 9.5oz

Exh is 6ft 3 and im 5ft 10, baby was 7lb 5oz.

DH1 was 5ft 9, and DD1 was 8lb 2oz, and DD2 7lb 13oz
DH2 is 6ft 7, and DS1 was 10lb 4oz.

I was very surprised when they told me how big DS was, as it didn't feel any different from the first 2 - even though his shoulder got stuck briefly.

DH 6 foot 6, DD 6lb 13oz and 17 days overdue

Their Sperm donor father is 6ft
I am 5"8 both babies 6lb-ish!!

DH and I are both 5'7" - DS1 was 8lb 1oz and DS2 10lb 1oz.

There were a few raised eyebrows from DH when they were born .

i am the shortest in my family..5'7" and dh is the tallest in his..5'10"

boys were both well over ten pounds and ds1 was a realllllllly long baby, dd was 8 and a half pounds

ds1 is now 6'3" and ds2 is only three inches shorter!

my dad, brother and all uncles are/were all a min of 6'4"

I am wondering about this too.

DP is 6'4 (I am 5'6) and so far my babies are measuring BIG for their gestation. At 28 week scan they were measuring 3lbs2 & 3lbs25. I hope they slow down or will end up with 2 little monsters!

I am 5'7" and DH is 5'11". DDs were 8lbs and 9lbs 2oz. People always go "ouch" but DD2 was long and skinny and I had a 5 minute second stage!

DH is 6ft and I'm 4'11. DD was 6 lb 12. My mum was the same height as me and us 4 children ranged between 3lb 12 and 6 lb 6. Dad is quite short, about 5ft 5 I think.

Dh is 6 ft, I'm 5' 9", both have heads on the 98th centile. DS1 was 7lbs 3ozs and DS2 was 6lbs 1oz!

So don't worry too much!
