Thanks for the welcome. No scan date yet but GP in 2 weeks. Tiredness has really kicked in now and sickness getting worse so hoping that's a good sign. I find if I eat a couple of mini cheddars every 30 mins and keep taking sips of fizzy water the sickness is hardly there at all. For a few seconds I think hooray, I've got it under control, then I panic. I was just thinking that I wasn't this bad with DS1 (my pregnancy after my first miscarriage) and then I remember one antenatal appointment when the midwife couldn't get his heartbeat because he was thrashing about so much and kicking the doppler. I was on the verge of tears asking the midwife if he was still alive and she laughed and said he wouldn't be moving if he'd died. In my panic I'd not thought of that Grin

Well, back again after whole family getting vomiting virus, me first, then hubbie now 4.5yr old...please please don't let 20 mth old get it....whenever I go for any doc appoint I get them to listen to baby, am paranoid ..all good this morning tho' lots of soft tissue pains tho apparently there may be scarring aft 2 c-secs, ouch., 17 weeks now so getting bigger, I'm finding I'm not so tolerant of each symptom this time round, first time was all new and second time I'd had 3 miscarriages so v careful and watching and waiting, now all the appointments and symptoms are a pain as I keep having to work around school runs etc....

StateofConfusion · 14/11/2012 13:36

StateofConfusion · 15/11/2012 11:09

Much better today thanks :)

Hope they don't keep you too long, my last apt they were running 1hr 15mins late for scans, 30mins late for consultants, I live 25miles away from the hospital and have school runs at 8.50, 11.50 and 3.30, fitting the hospital in isn't easy.

Hello, how is everyone doing? Been busy preparing for dd's birthday on sat, she will be 4. Can't believe it! My little girl is not so little anymore.... 31 wks today and feeling ok. Been all over the place last week, had hip and pelvic pain, feel tired of feeling tired and very emotional-seem to go from good to bad mood in 5 seconds Grin Been watching one born every minute, the first one made me panic as it occured to me in about 9 wks or so I'll be giving birth again, watched the next one and thought 'I can do it!' It makes me cry, happy tears though Smile I'm getting excited and can't wait to meet my little Seth. Making a playlist of music for the labour, next week I'm sorting out his clothes and packing a hospital bag. Does that seem a bit early to be doing it? I just have an overwhelming urge to get it done!! Hope you're all well ladies

AlphaBeta82 · 15/11/2012 12:16

Hi Wellies, I had the exact same panic a few weeks ago, exposed at 8 weeks. I had blood tests which took over 2 weeks to come back which showed natural immunity.
As a parent of a 22 mth old ds, no parents can never relax!! Though once their in your arms I think your time allowance for worrying decreases dramatically!

I have my next scan at 13wk2d, which is just over a week ago, even tough I've picked up heartbeat on doppler, I've every symptom going and had a good scan at 10 weeks, I am already building up my worry in force!!

AlphaBeta82 · 15/11/2012 12:17

Where did Wellies post go?????

StateofConfusion · 15/11/2012 12:19

Happy birthday for this weekend for your dd gem my dd is 4 on wednesday :)

I packed wrigglers hospital bag today, had the urge to do, can't help thinking I've forgotten something though...

Thanks state they grow up so fast! My memory is terrible at the minute and I can't seem to concentrate on doing things for long so maybe that's why I have the urge to start packing now, I'm bound to forget stuff and then in early hrs of a morning think of something else to pack! Might actually get it done by our due date in that case Grin

StateofConfusion · 15/11/2012 15:22

What does everyone pack then?

For the baby I've put in (planned csec so I know I'm in for 48hr min)
5 vests, 4 sleep suits, cardigan, hat and scratch mits, muslins, 10 nappies and pack of wipes. Also my own swaddle blanket and some nappy cream.
I'm also packing the same again and leaving it in the car.

As for me I feel clueless, so far I've got my arnica tablets.

You need nighties, loads of big pants that wont rub on the scar, bras, breastpads, dressing gown, flip flops for the shower, wash bag, dark towels, your own pillow, something to read while you wait for c-section, peppermint tea. I can't think of anything else

WLmum · 15/11/2012 19:03

wellies what a great idea to have a duplicate bag in the car! Def nicking that idea! X

StateofConfusion · 15/11/2012 19:59

Thanks for the list ellie I've done this twice before but I'm so not with it atm, I hadn't thought about slippers dressing gown etc.

Any of you with nectar cards I'd recomend joining sainsburys baby club, get a really good box of freebies! Far better than the usual rubbish given away. Just sign up online wait for an email then next time you swipe your nectar card you'll get a voucher printed at the till buy a pack of nappies and get the box free with the voucher, mine had, full size pack huggies pure wipes, full size pack kleenex sensitive facial wipes, full size metanium nappy cream, travel size johnsons top to toe wash/baby oil/nappy cream, and oil reducing face wipes. Nice bits I thought!

Ooh thanks for the tip, State :)

I'm 24 weeks tomorrow

StateofConfusion · 15/11/2012 21:22

viability Grin

Another one I always forget is arnica tablets, I felt a bit beat up after my ds sore and uncomfortable, took them after having dd and felt soo much better, much more comfortable. Recommended it to a few friends who agree, one was section like me the other had a vbac but had to have ventouse or forceps I forget which but she said when she started taking them she felt more comfortable.

I put the crib up today, I just have this urge to be done and ready.

elliejjtiny · 15/11/2012 22:02

I always pack way too much. With DS2 I was having a homebirth but transferred in at the last minute. I brought the moses basket with me because his first outfit was chosen to co-ordinate with the moses basket drapes. I also took the umbelical cord clamp out of the homebirth kit and brought it with me because that was my baby's clamp and nobody else was having it Grin

StateofConfusion · 15/11/2012 22:46
Grin When my ds (pfb) was born I had that much stuff it took dp 3 trips to take it all to the taxi, this is our first baby where we have our own car and it makes life so much easier knowing I can pack things ready and have it in the boot instead of dp having to get home find it get back etc.

Hi Wifey- I'm now 23 weeks and just about getting to grips with the fact that I may finally have a sticky baby!!!
It has not been a easy journey after having a history of things going wrong but I'm at the start the Epu was so helpful rushing results, updated me quickly as so didn't worry! Had so many scans all the way up to 12 weeks and still having them next one at 28 weeks just before we fly out for Christmas! It does help when you can feel baby moving as it reassuring that all is going well!!!
Hope all of you ladies are good also!
Take 1 day at a time and breath!

gemdrop84 · 16/11/2012 07:21

ooh thanks for the tip state, getting myself to sainsburys! last experience of packing my hospital bag was when I was in labour with dd, my waters had broken at 1am but my contractions weren't very regular/close together so was adv to ring labour ward once they were about 4 mins together then go in. So there I was throwing things in a rucksack and even made dp a flask of coffee (he was flat out in bed and I didn't want to wake him until I needed to). I'd like to be a bit more organised this time round though which is prob why have the urge to get it done early! Grin at ellie oooh bwpossom 24 wks today Smile

wifey6 · 16/11/2012 09:29

Thank you count...so happy for you. Smile

AlphaBeta82 · 16/11/2012 11:01

Hi ladies,
Can I come in and just have a random winge and a hug if any are going! I am really struggling with all the stress we've got going on at the moment and so worried about the stress levels for the baby! I'm 12 weeks now and a couple of days after we found out dh's family business (involves fil and bil) went tits up, he still has to work on it but we get no income and probably won't for some time, I've gone full time to try and cover this, my job is very stressful though I enjoy it but it really is full on, we can't survive off one income and are eating into savings aside for maternity leave. We are supposed to be remortgaging but they won't remortgage off my salary alone - just stress, stress, stress!! I don't know how we are going to get out of this and afford another child in the meantime. I'm stressing constantly about how to keep our family afloat and really worried about the impact it will have on pregnancy - must be a true little fighter if out of the last 4 pregnancies this little one is holding on through all of this!!

just feel I've not got anyone in rl to really talk too who isn't just as wrapped up in it, and dh is really worried about it all and the effect on me so don't want to worry him further!

StateofConfusion · 16/11/2012 11:34

((Alpha))

You poor thing, I've no advice as things went tits up for us too but we are muddling along and things will work out in the end even if it is only the lovely snuffly cuddles of a newborn amongst chaos.
I know everyone tells us how we must relax and stay calm etc but every one gets stress in pregnancy, and it rarely causes an issue, well my dd may be a bit mad lol take care and off load here whenever you need to xx

AlphaBeta82 · 16/11/2012 12:33

thanks state, I agree, keeping our DS happy and having our second dc in my arms is the one thought that is getting me through. Just nice to have somewhere to go AAARRRGGGHHH!!! Wink
