I was going to join the other one but those luck ladies have had thier babies and are now talking all things newborn Envy.

So join me if you are fat and getting somewhat fed up!

I am 36+4 and a scan on Monday showed that DS is already weighing around 7lb 3 Shock. For that reason alone I'm hoping he puts in an appearance soon. Previous DC's have been 40+1, 39 and 39 and 7lb6, 8lb13 and 8lb12.5 so not so sure why this one is estimated to be so big!

Lucky you Blue.My DH doesn't even want to touch me.On the last mw appointment i was told the same-3/5 engaged, apparently it's enough to stop them from changing position.
Went for a waddle walk as like every evening, praying everyday to not to meet anybody with some stupid small talk about baby not being here yet as I'm snappy like hell.

LimeFlower · 26/05/2012 22:26

Weezie at least your one has dropped so something happens, mine still sitting high.I'll get a sweep on Thursday appointment if nothing happens by then.

Commutinghell · 26/05/2012 22:31

Everyone seems to be getting on better than me. I've had nothing at all. Due tomorrow and no sweep booked either. Should I have one booked? Baby clearly isn't going to put in an appearance of her own accord.

LimeFlower · 26/05/2012 22:42

Commuting how far and where are you?I'm in Scotland,I know that NHS policies are different sometimes depending on where are you.
Here from what I heard they offer a sweep at 41 weeks and induction at 40+12.
My mw appointments are bang on full week so this week I was 40 weeks on Thursday, next appointment on Thursday and because I will be 41 weeks then they mentioned a sweep at the last visit.
Speak to your mw and see what she says.Sweep might work/might not, depends how "ripe" the cervix is.

LimeFlower · 26/05/2012 22:45

When I went for a waddle everybody in the village was sitting outside with some drinks, another thing that pisses me off and makes me jealous.I want some ice cold ale!!!

Commutinghell · 26/05/2012 23:20

I like the idea of a heavily pregnant olympics swivel, that'd get labour going for us all! Thanks for the sweep advice lime! I will ask to be booked in for one when I see the midwife on Wednesday. Can't believe they leave us hanging on for so long!

Commutinghell · 26/05/2012 23:21

Oh, and I also don't mind admitting that I'm gagging for a pint!!

KatyJ26 · 27/05/2012 05:54

Morning all! Today is d day and nothing! Felt a bit sick last night when I went to bed and hoped it might mean something ... in hindsight I realise it meant I stuffed my face too much at a Childs birthday party!!! so today I plan to waddle around as much as possible without getting too hot - am dreading doing the school run tomorrow and everyone commenting that I'm still in one piece!

LimeFlower · 27/05/2012 06:35

Morning

Katy, keep crying for your own bed,you can wail as much as you can.As for the stupid comments-just snotty reply and a slap would do.

Another lovely night here with just about 3 hrs of sleep-cried already and more grumpy everyday.

Fecking pidgeons, wish I had an air rifle...noisy bastards

ladyparking · 27/05/2012 07:10

morning all. Im sorry for all those who aren't having any signs, I'm having pretty much every indication you can have bar a telegram from the freckin baby but I'm STILL not in labour so I don't know which is worse! I've had 2 shows, can no longer even waddle let alone walk, the baby is headbutting like a Glaswegian (sorry any scots ladies) and yet when I go to bed each night expecting a special delivery I sleep like a sherpa and wake up intact.
Chuff's sake. And American Idol has finished.
To encourage those without signs, my first birth had absolutely no preamble whatsoever, went unmistakeably into labour in the small hours from a standing start, so I don't think any of it means anything until they invent a means of telephoning the resident of the bump and asking what time they're intending to have dinner.....

Commutinghell · 27/05/2012 07:16

Thanks Lady, that's reassuring. I'm sorry to those who aren't sleeping. I seem to be ok with regard to sleep. The hot water bottle in the freezer tip that I read on here was really helpful. Still no baby signs here.

LimeFlower · 27/05/2012 07:25

ladyparking :o Glaswegian
sorry,I'm not Scottish but my DH is

i reckon lack of sleep is just a "training" mode before the baby arrives

SESthebrave · 27/05/2012 07:29

Hello! Another one here waiting with no sign of anything imminent. EDD is today and my next MW appointment is on Friday when she said she'd discuss an appointment for a sweep at the hospital.

LimeFlower · 27/05/2012 07:33

SES :) how nice to see you here
my mw has offered a sweep on Thursday-will be 41 wks then.

iowmum88 · 27/05/2012 07:47

I have been offered a sweep on Wednesday which is bang on my due date, didn't ask for it they just booked it in at the hospital when I was last there at 36 weeks. So I'm really hoping that kick starts everything!!

SilverSage · 27/05/2012 08:13

Morning.

I'm still here, and bump is still somewhere under my chin. Totally fed up now. Between the weather and DH's snoring, think I've had about 20 minutes sleep. I'm NOT in a good mood today.

used2bthin · 27/05/2012 09:13

Hi all. I feel a fraud as not even due till the fri after next but bit fed up all the same! My bump is really high again.

Yesterday my THIGHS and KNEES were puffy and swollen is that normal?! It went down when I put my feet up so was definately swelling rather than just weight gain!

Another watery discharge thing this morning, get this every now and then but as yet no show. Got my 38 week appointment wed when I will be 38.6 so am thinking they won't book me in for a sweep till two weeks after which would be 40.6, is it usually 40?

Keepgettingperiod type pains-had a painful contraction like one yesterday-but just the one. Grr!

SESthebrave · 27/05/2012 09:15

Hello Lime - thanks for the link to the thread :)

SilverSage - I would have done ok on the sleep front last night had our battery operated radio in the shower switched itself on at 2.30am Hmm Very random!
Will you get much chance to rest today?

Have any of you experienced a sweep before? Why does it have to be done at the hospital?

I'm hoping to head off to church this morning but not sure I really look very respectable - belly button, nipples and (obviously!) bump protruding way too much! One of the biggest issues with this weather is what to wear, especially if heading out!

allotmentgirl82 · 27/05/2012 09:28

Hi all
Just joined mumsnet :)
I'm pregnant at the moment with baby number 3- it's a girl :)
The dr's have given me a due date of 22nd July, although I know this is way out as i know when I conceived!
I think i'm due on 30th June. I look huge, feel huge and i'm exhausted!
I had saw the midwife last week and she plotted on my graph how big she thinks the baby is- she's 5lb already!! Surely this is huge for a baby (who in their eyes) is only 32 weeks?
My 1st baby was born prem at 32 weeks and he was the biggest in NICU at 4lb, 2nd baby was prem at 36 weeks and was 6lb.

SwivelHips · 27/05/2012 09:44

Feck. Feck. Feck. Feck.
Membranes intact = check.
Bump tickling chin = check
Show is a no show = check.
EDD today = check.
8 hrs sleep = check Smile
I'm on of the few that's sleeping, sure DH putting something in my tea to shut me up.

Grin at lady sleeping like a sherpa, ah that made a grumpy, sweaty, panting bird very happy.

I dont have a sweep book either, I was asked at last apt but with my UTI, thrush etc I really dont want anything like at the minute. UTI gone but my insides are nearly outside and I just cant handle it. Hmmm this will give me a problem I realise but I shall make exception when/if baby s ever decides to make an appearance.

I'm booked for ELCS on the 1st if I don't go naturally (I was convinced I would now I'm not so sure) so for me there is an end in sight.

I might go for a walk this morning, obviously I'm not in commutings league but I'll try for a mile :)

Hope everyone in a better mood than me, and hello new ladies....

Commutinghell · 27/05/2012 13:02

allotment, I had a scan at 34 weeks and the baby was 5lb, they said that was big so does sound very big for 32. swivel, didn't realise you had an elcs booked in, must be great to know the baby will be here by next week Grin hope the walk helps! I played tennis this morning. It hasn't done anything. Sad

Kveta · 27/05/2012 13:05

still here, still no baby. another of the june mums had her wee boy today though, so we're all Envy and also delighted for her!

It is far too hot to be this pregnant though, sigh. I had great plans for gardening today, but instead am sitting inside with a cold drink and wishing the freezer was big enough to sit in.

McKayz · 27/05/2012 13:10

Kveta I am glad I am not the only one feeling Envy of the babies arriving.

Growth scan on Friday showed baby is 7lb 3oz at 36 weeks, so hoping she gets a wriggle on and shows up. She just has to wait until Thursday so I get my home birth.

SwivelHips · 27/05/2012 13:37

Any idea why I have a waddle if the head isn't engaged, I'm really trying hard not to but its there.

Sitting in garden, reading the papers, under a sun canopy. I am now a happy woman. Likely my waters will break now.

Kveta I dont know how you've been able to garden, I tried to early last week but couldn't get comfy.

Tennis? Flipping heck...I can barely walk.

luckynumber11 · 27/05/2012 13:45

Hi, special hello to lime and ses from the may babies thread. Thought I would join in as I really need to evict this baby. I'm 40+6 today, still no real signs of anything happening, but like a lot of you I am sleeping really badly (only 3 hours on fri night but most nights I get about 5 on and off). Plus really bad piles this week (TMI). So a lot of downsides and no positive " baby is coming" upsides!
I had a second sweep this morning - well the first one on thurs was just a stretch as cervix was nowhere near ready! Today wasn't a proper sweep either but she did manage to get a fingertip in, so some slight progress from thurs :( Looks like I could end up with induction this thurs, which I really want to avoid as I had an ELCS with dd1. So induction is more risky for my old scar. But they won't just book me a section, I have to go through the hassle of induction first apparently.
Sorry for all the moaning, hopefully you will understand, we're all a bit fed up on here aren't we?!
