I was going to join the other one but those luck ladies have had thier babies and are now talking all things newborn Envy.

So join me if you are fat and getting somewhat fed up!

I am 36+4 and a scan on Monday showed that DS is already weighing around 7lb 3 Shock. For that reason alone I'm hoping he puts in an appearance soon. Previous DC's have been 40+1, 39 and 39 and 7lb6, 8lb13 and 8lb12.5 so not so sure why this one is estimated to be so big!

the insomnia has kicked in properly for me! just can't get comfy. but was thinking that with dd it was earlier/worse than this and I wonder if thats because her head was engaged at 33 weeks.

agreed about lolling about! What are you all wearing though? I only have one summer dress as it isn't worth buying more now.Everything else that still fits needs leggings under which is boiling! Oh and my flip flops are making me feel like I am walking on the floor!

shellywellybaby1 · 24/05/2012 06:19

Hi used2bthin!! I am right with you on the Insomnia! Been up since 3am. Altho i feel great which is weird. I have no PGP or heartburn and not even tired!!! Not sure how long this will last so think its probably safer to not go to work!!

Feels like another scorcher today!! Its definitely hard work finding clothes that fit and keep u cool. I was sweating in places i didnt know existed yesterday!!

Hope i get some sleep at somepoint as i am sure this post probably doesnt really make any sense!

SwivelHips · 24/05/2012 08:46

Congratulations cupcake :)

Don't know if anyone heard Chris Evans there, he's having a baby race, his wife plus a half a dozen listeners are all due 28th May - I think one was drinking RLT and other tried reflexology but nothing else.

I agree insomnia sucks, but I do like my afternoon naps :)

Another one with a very limited wardrobe here, everything cuts into me around the pelvis, I'd love to waddle round nude from the waist down...but what a sight that would be.

sunny today I think so I will be partaking in lolling around eating ice cream and making the most.

TMI slight increase in discharge yesterday so I'm taking that as a good sign...

SilverSage · 24/05/2012 10:17

Congratulation Cupcake!

While it's nice to see some sun, this heat really isn't good for puffy pregnant ladies. My feet were a bit swollen before, but I went to the cinema last night and 2.5 hours of sitting with them on the floor turned them into something you'd expect to see on the elephant man. I had proper sausage toes, it was gross!

I also have nothing to wear, as resent spending money on maternity clothes anyway, and it doesn't seem worth buying any summer ones with my due date so near. Am currently wearing a pre-pregnancy skirt, but it doesn't actually do up. At all. So I've had to tuck it into my knickers to stop it from falling down. Sexy!

Also, just walked to the shops to buy ice lollies for the freezer, and I have to say, it was the first time I've ever been able to feel the breeze ruffling my leg hair!

TangleStash · 24/05/2012 13:38

Congrats cupcake! I am off for a second round of acupuncture today. The ultrasound yesterday was amazing. Now I know what mini Tangle looks like (her dad). She is healthy and happy so they are going to let me get to 42 +1 before inducing. S&S was a success - managed to get me about 2cm dilated and MW very pleased with my progress. Been cramping like billy-o since so fingers crossed things start moving soon :)

used2bthin · 24/05/2012 17:34

Hi shellywellybaby I must have just missed you-fell asleep around 6 then have felt really tired most of the day then just suddenly perked up after lunch. Getting a curry tonight but more because I am too hot to cook than to get baby moving, its like I have just accepted I will be pregnant forever no point fighting it!

Glad I'm not the only one making do with outfits! I was thinking if H and M have any cheap non mat jersey type things (have worn a tunic thing that was £7.99 from there a lot with leggings)then I may justify buying it as if they have wrap top bit then it could work for bf too. Will see though they may not have anything of the sort!Am def not getting mat wear. Have a wedding to attend on day after due date so goodness knows what I will wear if I make it.

Good luck tanglestash fingers crossed you are not far off then!

I keep thinking it could be another month for me Shock as am actually "only" 38 weeks!

DizzyKipper · 24/05/2012 20:42

Hello all, really sorry I've not kept up with this thread - I'm really rubbish at keeping up with them, never seem to have enough time in the day (currently have all washing guiltily spread over the bed waiting to be put away Blush).

I'm now 35+5, and got some very watery discharge on Tuesday, with what looked like yellowish lumps of the more normal cervical discharge floating within (sorry for the tmi!). No other discharge since. Have also been getting twinges "in there" and fairly frequently feel a wave of pressure on the cervix as I presume the LO has just moved about. Bowels have shall we say been a bit looser the last 2 weeks, I've also been nauseous (could be the cold though!) and have actually thrown up once at least from the delicate belly feeling. Add to that difficulty sleeping seems to be setting in over the last few days - only getting about 4/5 hours max, that's surely enough symptoms by now to indicate I must absolutely positively be giving birth at 37 weeks on the dot? Think I may go insane if baby goes over.

used2bthin · 24/05/2012 21:39

The watery discharge sounds exactly the same as mine. Have had it twice over the last week, don't remember it with my first.

Also getting the pressure on cervix thing-lets hope it means a 37 week for you and 38 for me!

ladyparking · 25/05/2012 06:38

Apologies for the TMI in this question, but this morning I woke up with gunk running down my leg, and when I had a look it was a bit thick and pinkish in colour- anyone know is this a show? I didn't have one last time. (Though I did go to see Lea Mead's debut in Joseph and gave birth a week later, a sign....?!)

Commutinghell · 25/05/2012 07:54

Oh I'm so jealous of you all, the only watery thing in my undercrackers is sweat from this heat! I am so attractive!

iowmum88 · 25/05/2012 08:06

Commuting I'm with you on the sweat!! Am 39+2 and have resorted in2 wearing DPs boxers around the house with a top that is 2 small but I'm comfy!
Have a sweep booked in on Wednesday so fingers crossed that sets me off!
DP refused sex with me last nite, don't know if it's because he knows my reasons behind it or he was just "tired" like he said!! But not brill being turned down even if I do look and feel like a whale!

SwivelHips · 25/05/2012 08:47

Oh that does sound like your show lady. Delighted for you but jealous as hell!!

39+5 here and now extremely pissed off. Can't even lie on sunlounger because I get breathless, will I look a complete numpty if I lie on my left with a pillow between my legs? Thinking of going in the garden for a bounce on the stupid ball later. Its the only way I can sit now.

Had bad tummy cramps all yesterday, felt dreadful, was convinced I would go into labour during the night. Slept like a bloody log until 6 and now feel as fit as a bloody fiddle. Grrrr.

I dont think i'd be able to get DHs boxers on at the minute...good call though.
Grin at commuting's sweaty knickers

Commutinghell · 25/05/2012 09:20

Ooh swivel, I have a friend who swears she had her best nights sleep ever before going into labour. Fingers crossed for you! I've had a stitch like pain in my right hand side on and off this morning. I'd love to think it was a sign of labour but suspect it's another sign of being fat, sweaty and unfit!

MummyPigandDaddyPig · 25/05/2012 09:29

Joining in ladies, at 38+6 , am the braxton hicks in public queen, constantly having to stop and pant, with absolutly nothing to wear in this heat and IAM NOT BUYING More maternity clothes!!!! Laughed at the sunlounger comment, have tried to sit in mine, cant get on it and if I do I cant get up again... Awaiting DC3, being induced on wednesday...woop woop...starting to get scared and panicy over the whole labour childcare and everything else that insomnia throws up in the wee hours of the morning when you have two kids sleeping on top of you and you are chewing gaviscon whilst on the ipad as hubby snoores in DC1 's bed next door.....

used2bthin · 25/05/2012 09:35

ladyparking I agree that sounds like your show, also jealous!Hats off to all of those with very young children- I am having days mostly free after dropping DD to school. In fact today is going to be very free as DH has accidentally taken my cash card to work, meaning I can't fill up my car or buy anything, have no cash at all so am stuck in the village! Have to cancel my plans of meeting friend for coffee, grr.

used2bthin · 25/05/2012 09:36

ps am just baking hot as am in leggings and tunic-far too hot for leggings but my one dress is drying outside.

SwivelHips · 25/05/2012 10:42

Used2 be - take your leggings off woman its too blimin hot - tunic and big knickers a good look I think. Laughing at your one dress drying outside....sounds like me.

Commuting - strange but I have a stitch this morning but on my left side, never had that before, so yeh fingers crossed its a sign of labour and not my tummy muscles tickling my knees :(

Hi mummypig, I'm a public panter, just been round Tesco (for the air con and some chocolate and pile cream!!) but I was sweating profusely, panting and holding my stitch. Plus I had egg stain on my top. All my clothes are stained these days

Off out for lunch today, I'm going to try and see if sods law works. If my waters broke I would be sooooo mortified so I'm going to spend as much time in public as possible :)

used2bthin · 25/05/2012 11:00

Ha ha I would but our living room opens onto our garden and it is a garden that backs onto the street-we now have trellis up for a bit of privacy but have yet to plant the flowers etc that will hide us from view a bit-cannot subject the neighbours to my bum and thighs!

I am about to make a cake. Not sure why, just fancyit, keep making cakes and am getting bigger and bigger!

I can confirm that hot curry (it actually hurt my mouth) and sex have done nothing for me. Am too hot for birthing anyway today!

Spending time in public may be the way forward though, I thought mine had gone in a shopping centre an hour's drive from home last week. They hadn't but it would have been a good story! Enjoy lunch! And am liking the idea of tescos for the air con it is always freezing in there, good plan!

BlueCrane · 25/05/2012 11:27

Morning all just popping my head in to say hello! 39+3 and very slow progress here...show happened, contractions started but very stop start ish and when they did ramp up and I popped into hospital last night I found all the hard work had achieved nil, nada, nothing in the way of dilation! V envious of those sleeping well as I've hardly slept for the past two nights so am hibernating in the flat trying to get some rest whilst also wanting to remain active to get these contractions going a bit more...feel everyone's pain re. The heat though...my only dress is also in the wash so it's a vest top and pj bottoms or just my knickers I think Blush

used2bthin · 25/05/2012 12:07

Its too hot to be out much isn't it! Poor you with contractions, my DD1 did that to me, very stop start for a day or so but it did happen, in fact my waters broke and then it had to!

SwivelHips · 25/05/2012 14:55

Sods law didn't work either. Back home with membranes fully intact :(

Agree much, much too hot. I'm going for a bounce outside....wearing pj bottoms (with bleach stain). If it does kick off please give me the strength to get changed (or won't I give a shit?).
Hope you've managed to get some rest crane..

Ooh shooting pains again...can't be doing with another afternoon like yesterday...

Commutinghell · 25/05/2012 15:00

Good luck crane, pleased things are happening for you, if a little jealous. I suspect my feet will burst before my waters, they are heeeeooouuuggeee in this heat! Swimming tonight I think, the lucky people in our local pool will get to see my elephant feet and unshaved armpits. So, so attractive. But it might move things along or at least reduce the size of my feet! Smile

ladyparking · 25/05/2012 16:52

Hi all, things moving slowly here too but I think moving, period pain building up like a steady drone following this mornings show. Have dispatched husband and DS off to a friend's to leave me in peace to get things moving. By, er, reading mumsnet! And eating, sleeping, and unexpectedly sh*tting quite a lot, which I hope will save the birth pool's blushes later on.
Bluecrane don't lose heart stops and starts all normal and will be thinning that cervix. My acupuncturist directed me to this site acupuncture.rhizome.net.nz/Acupressure/induce.aspx for some natural pressure points to help establish regular contractions, give yourself a squeeze.
Good LUCK xxx

Commutinghell · 25/05/2012 22:36

Ooh lady more exciting news! Best of luck to you. I've just jogged round a field. Still nothing!

used2bthin · 25/05/2012 22:44

I am impressed with jogging round a field! ladyparking that sounds promising, good luck!

Swivelhips no you won't care at all. Though strangely I remember being concerned about my hair very soon after!
