I was going to join the other one but those luck ladies have had thier babies and are now talking all things newborn Envy.

So join me if you are fat and getting somewhat fed up!

I am 36+4 and a scan on Monday showed that DS is already weighing around 7lb 3 Shock. For that reason alone I'm hoping he puts in an appearance soon. Previous DC's have been 40+1, 39 and 39 and 7lb6, 8lb13 and 8lb12.5 so not so sure why this one is estimated to be so big!

Been awake since 3.30am! Still gutted re possible induction in 5 days. Bump seems high. No niggles :(
Am now 40+6.
Don't want DH using up days of Pat Leave hanging around hospital waiting for it to kick off.
Scared it will be prolonged & all end in CS anyway.

MummyPigandDaddyPig · 01/06/2012 05:21

Baby Pig finally born after induction and 9 hours labour, not impressed as DC3 and expected a quick one! At least its all over and I can walk again! Bye bye hobbling waddling and wetting myself! Hello disposable knickers, no sleep and afterpains Blush!:) good luck everyone !:)

iowmum88 · 01/06/2012 05:28

Sorry ladies had little Theo James at 9:46pm he's absolutely gorgeous weighed 6lb 8oz.
After having sweep on Wednesday was contracting irregularly until my waters broke at 6:30pm came into hospital at 7:30 pm got checked over was only 2-3cm dilated next thing you know I'm contracting every 2mins got brought thought to the labour ward by 9:30pm fully dilated and ready to push, 2 pushes later and he arrived!! very quick and wasn't quite prepared for it! DP was excellent. I had to have stitches which hurt as well!
Hope the rest of you lovely ladies follow soon!!

GingerLemonTea · 01/06/2012 05:38

Congrats to MummyPig and iowmum :)
Yesterday had 1.5 pineapples, hot curry, rasp leaf capsules, sniffed clary sage, cleaned a floor on hands & knees. Tried to organise a reflexology session, but the 3 people I contacted were on holiday.
Today I am probably going to try a long walk, more floor scrubbing & see if I can get an appt for reflexology. I don't really believe any of the above will help as I am so far off, 'unfavourable' the MW said.
Just hoping I will be one of those people with not much build up who go into labour spontaneously.
I should probably just put my feet up/ rest, but feel like I want to try something.

BlueAndRedAndWhite · 01/06/2012 06:56

Congrats iowmum and mummypig Grin

I'm still here. No signs and for some strange reason the insomnia has deserted me and have slept well for two days now (other than numerous toilet breaks).

I don't know which is worse-you ladies who are not favourable Sad or the fact that 2WEEKS ago I was favourable for labour (1-2cm dilated, cervix soft low and effacing nicely) and yet I'm still here. So don't hold much scope on the whole favourability (is there such a word?) thing as it clearly means diddly squat.

Plans for today are get kids to school, hang washing out and maybe do a bit of polishing and hoovering upstairs. Mil and fil are due to arrive tomorrow and they have told me to rest up and they'll deep clean when they get here.

Weezie85 · 01/06/2012 07:33

I'm still here with my now June bump in tow. Had a really bad nights sleep though as I have cramp and backache. Been getting irregular BH which I think may actually be contractions. Come on baby, you know you want out now. It's not May anymore.
They have me in for another sweep on Sunday, then I reckon they will start pushing for an induction. Does anyone actually have a good experience with a first time baby and an induction? Just only ever heard horror stories and really do not want one for the lame reasons they are giving.

Commutinghell · 01/06/2012 07:37

Congratulations iow and pig!
Sorry to hear about your dad Rachel, what a terribly difficult time for you. I hope baby behaves and stays put for another day.
I'm still in the same position as always, no signs, no twinges, no labour, no baby.

DairyNips · 01/06/2012 08:12

Weezie my induction with ds1 was actually ok. They just put a pessary in at night then one in in the morning, I had a walk about and was in labour by around 11am. They didn't have to do any more after that and ds was born at 4.45pm. The bad point were that ds was back to back and they seemed short staffed so I hardly saw the me till it was almost time to push. Neither of these things were to do with being induced really though.

Weezie85 · 01/06/2012 08:59

Thanks dairy. Hopefully if I do have to get one it won't be too bad as baby is loa and ready to go.

DairyNips · 01/06/2012 09:14

Fingers crossed for you that you go naturally before then. Get tweaking those nipples Grin

justwantcheese · 01/06/2012 12:43

Hi,I'm 39+2 and I cannot wait for my dd to be born.

SESthebrave · 01/06/2012 14:00

40+5 : Ok so had enough now! Saw MW & baby in good position low down but still no sign of labour. Because of CS last time they won't book an induction or CS without me seeing Dr at hospital. Bank Holiday means no appointments til next Wednesday so I've to go to hospital tomorrow at 10.30am and wait til the one Dr on duty is free to see me and agree a plan! They don't know when Dr will be free though so could need to wait "a number of hours" to be seen! Oh well, guess it will be out one way or another in the next 10 days!

Weezie85 · 01/06/2012 15:18

Oh SES thats rubbish. I am lucky that I managed to get another swep booked for Sunday, and we will discuss inductions then.
I am trying to stay calm at the moment but the MIL is staying at the moment. All I want to do is just watch my crap tv and sit in the filth that is becoming my house. Instead I feel like I have to entertain and keep the tv off.
Not what I need when I feel stressed already.

fretfree · 01/06/2012 15:58

Congrats everyone with their new babies (lucky, Katy, dairynips, iowmum and dairy pig - hope I haven't missed anyone off!). Hope everyone else is doing well - plans for the jubilee weekend??? (er, apart from the obvious :))

I'm now 40+11!! Was supposed to have an induction today but they don't have room yet, so I'll phone back at 2000 hrs to see if I go in to start induction (pessary) or just for a check up. SES - hang in there. Weezie - I fought not to have an induction according to the hospital policy (over 40 so should have been at EDD. Managed to get them to 40+10, which is their under 40 policy, and when they could not do Thursday, I pushed (ok - wrong term :o) for a day later rather than a day earlier. Seems ironic that they are now delaying! I kept taking it back to what were the reasons specific to my medical situation, rather than the application of an arbitrary policy, backed up by the stats that inductions with unfavourable bishops scores have a high rate of leading to CS (score 1-3 = 45% probability, whereas over 7 is below 5%).

I had another acupuncture session, have done massage with essential oils in castor oil (cloves, lavender and palmarosa), walked a lot and nipple stimulation (not all at the same time!).

Good luck all now-June-babies!

BlueAndRedAndWhite · 01/06/2012 18:00

So it appears sex isn't moving the stubborn little bugger Hmm. Have tried a few times (clearly just not dedicated enough!).

I've had my first get some castor oil comment down you today Angry, I was very polite in the circumstances, and just said not a chance.

My hormones seem to be playing havoc last 24 hours though-my alread short fuse is now non-existant. I'm having to try very hard to not get arsey with the kids Sad, I really don't mean to take it out on them as they are just being kids. My poor DH on the other hand I'm not being so good at controllling myself with-poor bloke Sad.

used2bthin · 01/06/2012 18:15

Am really disappointed, my bad back ache came to nothing! Am now officially over symptom spotting (probably...!)

People always say you'll know when it happens but I didn't with DD, just thought it was false labour. Going to try a long walk tomorrow and see if that helps things along but not getting my hopes up. DH arrived three weeks after his due date!!! Am hoping these things don't tend to repeat themselves-obviously they wouldn't now leave me three weeks over but still!

Weezie85 · 01/06/2012 18:34

My mil suggested castor oil. Erm no. She said its perfectly safe as thats what they used to recommend. Did point out they used to say smoking was good for you. Haha. Getting on my pip now. Although I think everything is annoying me lately.

used2bthin · 01/06/2012 19:53

On the subject of family history, my DH is very tall-6.8 but was an average size baby. I am tall too though not of his propertions. Anyone know anyhting about baby size? My dd was expected to be big but was 8.3 a week early so not massive, but big enough for a week early. Haven't worried about DH's height all pregnancy then heard his work have a bet on about the weight due to his size (he is broad as well as tall).

BlueAndRedAndWhite · 01/06/2012 20:02

My DH is 6ft 2, has a 52inch chest Shock was 9lb 10 when he was born.
I'm 5ft 7, a size 14, was 7lb something when I was born.

Our babies have been 7lb6 (g), 8lb13 (b) and 8lb12.5 (b). So girl was mini me basically, the boys have been somewhere between the two of us.

DairyNips · 01/06/2012 20:15

Ooh fret thanks for the congrats but I haven't had a baby yet!Grin Still im patiently waiting, currently 39+2 and history of being 2 weeks 'late'..

Kveta · 01/06/2012 20:21

congrats to the new babies!

I had niggly BHs all last night, and they are coming back now. wish they'd feck off and let me rest. Didn't have a single BH with DS, so this is a new and not delightful experience!!

39+3. max 11 days until induction.

LimeFlower · 01/06/2012 20:59

Congrats lady iowmum and MummyPig
our router went bonkers last night so no internet connection.

SES that's shite treatment, how long are you supposed to wait tomorrow?Hope they'll fit you very soon.

All this "jubilee" or whatever it is is getting on my nerves. What's this fuss all about?

Rachel sorry about your Dad-deepest sympathy

GingerLemon same crap here although a bit relieved that end is in sight.

BlueAndRed at least you had some sex-can't convince my DH.

Used2beno rule here regarding the size

fret hope they kept you in,good luck.

I'm a bit pissed off as the induction is booked, supposed to go to the hospital at 8pm and then they'll tell me whether they have any beds Hmm unbelievable, might have 60 miles round trip for nothing. The other question is are they going to give me some gel, pessaries or "just" the sweep-because if it's sweep then they can stick it where the sun doesn't shine.Don't waste my time,i've waited enough.Said to DH to drop me off to the hospital and go home as nothing will happen in the next few hours.

I don't even want to go for a walk anymore in case i meet somebody with some stupid small talk "still here?".Went to the shop, met a woman i saw 2 days ago.FFS,if i'm still here then nothing happened so don't ask stupid questions.

The worst thing is i start to resent this baby although is very wanted and it's not its fault, just my stupid body playing tricks.DH has the patience of the saint saying things like "we'll have to book the haircut for the wee one once it comes out".What a lovely guy,and i'm such a snappy bitch to him right now.

LimeFlower · 01/06/2012 21:02

And I wished I could drink myself until I pass out!I can't do even that!

SESthebrave · 01/06/2012 21:15

Oh Lime I sympathise. DH was moaning earlier that he wouldn't be able to drink over the BH in case I go into labour. I retorted that I'd not had a drink in over a year so he could quit his moaning!

Been sat on gym ball for a couple of hours this afternoon, walked round supermarket this morning and now trying nipple stimulation! Nothi g happening though!

SIL texted earlier so I replied and asked what plans they had for the weekend. She said "we were hoping to be coming to see the new baby". Sorry to so inconvenient, heh?!

Weezie85 · 01/06/2012 21:17

Oh lime I feel your pain. My DH is being amazing. If I was him I would of snapped by now. All the affects of sweep have worn off now. Rubbish. 2nd sweep then induction. Can't believe you have to wait and see. What pants.
