I was going to join the other one but those luck ladies have had thier babies and are now talking all things newborn Envy.

So join me if you are fat and getting somewhat fed up!

I am 36+4 and a scan on Monday showed that DS is already weighing around 7lb 3 Shock. For that reason alone I'm hoping he puts in an appearance soon. Previous DC's have been 40+1, 39 and 39 and 7lb6, 8lb13 and 8lb12.5 so not so sure why this one is estimated to be so big!

Ooh congrats lady and lucky!

Wish my baby would get a move on. She is so wriggly today, it hurts! And ds keeps launching himself at bump for enthusiatic cuddles, which are sadly painful. Feel bad deflecting him repeatedly.

SwivelHips · 31/05/2012 11:42

Oh another one Grin Grin Grin Congratulations to Lady, shame I love the gory detail but appreciate its not the time. So pleased for you....

Ah Blue never mind. They're popping out all over the place though (with the drop in pressure?) so not long now :)

Oven cleaning didn't work Commuting, I'm still bloody here. Re-packing hospital bags now, then going shopping for some food to take into hospital.

Kveta · 31/05/2012 11:45

I just did a load of weeding and planted out my courgette plants (which guarantees a frost, this will be the 4th lot I've planted out, and all 3 previous ones have been killed off by frost 2 days later Hmm) so am hoping this brings on labour, or at least a good crop of veg.

Commutinghell · 31/05/2012 13:15

Congratulations Lady Grin
Do any of you ladies with babies have any tips about what brought on labour for you?
Kveta, surely you can't be unlucky enough to bring on a frost this close to June? Might go and put my courgettes back in the greenhouse just incase! Wink
Swivel, good plan about hospital food shopping. I think I did that a bit too early, I've eaten most of it now, the thought of all those nice things sitting there not getting eaten was too much for me.

DairyNips · 31/05/2012 13:17

39 + 1 today. First time I've felt any sort of sensation that might convince me my body could eventually go in to labour. Period type cramps, very infrequent and mild though so I won't the getting excited quite yet!

SwivelHips · 31/05/2012 13:25

Ha Ha commuting, I know what you mean, I'd left the bag pretty sparse so I wouldn't be tempted. I'm also going to buy a cake and some chocolate for tonight as a kind of last feast nom nom nom

Dairy I've been getting period type cramps for well over a week now, hoping you have more luck than I'e had :)

Fishpond · 31/05/2012 13:27

Hi I'd like to join this thread even though I'm only 33+3 Blush

All my scans have the baby measuring on the 90th+ centile and he is predicted to be about 9-10lb by my 39wk c section date so I'd quite like him out before then!

I have a date for elcs (July 10, my birthday!) because he could have a clotting disorder called hemophilia, which could cause brain bleeding and even death if he were to get stuck during a vaginal birth. So even if I go into labor before, I'll be having a c-section.

I have a feeling he is going to hang on until the bitter end and be huge, I'm already v uncomfortable as he is wedged right up near my ribs.

Ok sorry for long intro and congrats to all the popped ladies so far!

BlueAndRedMakePurple · 31/05/2012 13:46

Hello Fish, you'll probably still be around when we all have our babies, we can give you something to look forward to Grin. But dont worry about the big baby bit, if you look at my OP you'll see they reckon mine is gonna be a monster too-and no C-sections here!

Well I still have my bets on Sunday, my previous two DC's arrived at 39 weeks and so 39 weeks this time is Sunday. Problem with that theory is that if it doesnt go to plan I'll be very dissapointed.

Argh just lost long message will try again! With DD1 I went for a long walk the day I went into labour then another one when I started with pains. Not sure if it helped. I remember my mum saying she thought I had at least a week left as I wasn't nesting and my bump was high still-proved her wrong!

Will prob be joining you in disappointment suday blueAndRed because my DD1 labour started at 39.2 which is also sunday!

Hi fishpond. My DD1 has a genetic disorder which means her body cannot deal witht he stress of illness or injury, she is dependant on meds and it is also potentially fatal if not managed correctly. She is a happy healthy five year old though and doesn't seem affected in terms of what she does, in fact I was just remembering her at a birthday party once playing with a little boy who has heamophilia and tey were throwing themselves down the slide! His mum and I were laughing that they were the two children who needed to be more careful but it was great to see thye didn't even realise! You may already have experience with it all but I know it was worrying to begin with with DD so thought I'd say in case you are finding it worrying too. It has been so much less scary than I thought when she was diagnosed as a new born.

BlueAndRedAndWhite · 31/05/2012 14:41

used I shall be looking out for you on Sunday then-we can commiserate together.

Still me BlueAndRed by the way-just name changed the last part for the Jubilee Grin

DairyNips · 31/05/2012 15:08

swivel I got them for weeks the last two times iirc, hence why I'm not getting excited this timeGrin

LimeFlower · 31/05/2012 15:48

Good afternoon

Well, got my shopping, went to mw so the story is...belly high, cervix high, hardly reachable and hard so no sweep.Booked for induction on...6th of June in the evening-at the end of recommended timeline will be 40+12 by their notes,a day further in mine.

I'm off for a nap now as I have to digest my failure disappointment.

Will catch up with you later as i don't want to whinge too much.

SwivelHips · 31/05/2012 18:03

Ah bugger Lime, sorry to hear that, but you know the 6th is a long way off and things can change rapidly.

My bump really sore this evening, its dropped, I can hardly walk, have pains, a watery discharge (ooh sorry TMI) and period cramps again. I also feel sick but I think thats the donut and late lunch I gobbled down much too quickly.

[grumpy face]

Weezie85 · 31/05/2012 18:30

Had my sweep today, got a bloody ick now. It was only 2 hours ago and cramps started. Did go for an hour walk after though.
Was told I was 1-2cm dilated, and that she thought it was looking really good. Oh god, I hope so. I am tired and just want to meet baby. Cervix is thinning out nicely. Come on baby.
Also made some lovely coconut and chop chip cookies today. Yummy.

SESthebrave · 31/05/2012 20:33

Ooh I wonder whether there will be a sudden rush of May babies in the next few hours?

This LO definitely holding out for June. I have done practically nothing today. Felt so exhausted this afternoon and I actually had an hour's sleep on the sofa.

Swivel - I think we're EDD date buddies? 27th May?

Lime - hopefully you'll do a Lucky and go into labour naturally before you need to be induced.

I have MW tomorrow. Will see what she says....

Commutinghell · 31/05/2012 21:06

I was due 27th May as well SES... this baby is holding out for june too, definitely. No signs at all Sad

GingerLemonTea · 31/05/2012 21:54

Lime, similar story here. Saw MW today, she examined me. She couldn't even feel cervix as too high up, but wrote it down as posterior and closed. Head was only just engaged 2 weeks ago and hasn't moved any further down. She phoned hospital to book my induction and told them I wasn't favourable for labour. Am also booked in for the 6th - morning for me though.
Am upset. Don't mind being over, but wanted to go naturally, potter about at home for a bit. Am unhappy that it's going to be very medical. 6 days to get things moving :(

SESthebrave · 31/05/2012 21:58

A few of us with the same date with stubborn, comfy babies then!

I am finally starting to get really really fed up. Maybe because it's June tomorrow, maybe because my SIL has just posted on FB to remind me that she and MIL will be over from Ireland in 14 days to see the new baby and maybe because Chris Evans has just posted on twitter that his wife has gone into labour. Wait your turn Mrs Chris Evans, your EDD was 28th May!!

DairyNips · 31/05/2012 23:55

Those of you who are upset about being booked in to be induced.. Just remember, it is your choice. If you really don't want to be induced you can refuse and they will just monitor you..

Not sure what I'll do this time if they offer induction, really want to go in to labour naturally as it'll be my third and final time and my last chance to do so. I am aware however that I might just be fed up of I go to 42 weeks again so may just accept an induction.

SilverSage · 01/06/2012 04:15

4am. The insomnia's been bad recently, but this is by far the worst night in a long time. Literally don't think I've slept for more than 20 minutes in one go. Why does your body do this to your when you're pregnant? Surely being sleep deprived before the baby arrives is not what you need??

used2bthin · 01/06/2012 04:20

Sorry to hear about induction and sweep disappointments.

Been up most of night as had dreadful backache which came in waves and had me all hopeful. Then has come to nothing.

used2bthin · 01/06/2012 04:21

snap silversage lets hope its a sign!

SilverSage · 01/06/2012 04:33

I've given up on signs used2be!

I'm 38+5 today. Had my 38 week appointment with the mw yesterday, baby is only 2/5 engaged, and bump is measuring 41cm! While I know none of it necesarily means anything, it still wasn't what I wanted to hear. She also wanted to book me a date for induction, but at least I managed to put her off that until my 40 week appointment.

I'm also crumbling under the weight of expectation from my parents that she's going to be early, as I was born at 37 weeks. It's getting really annoying! So I'm expecting her to be 2 weeks late just to prove them wrong (that's my girl)!

RachelWalsh · 01/06/2012 04:43

Hello, 38 weeks as of today, cannot bloody well sleep. Am at my mums because it is my dads funeral today so baby needs to stay in for a while longer at least. A decent kip would be nice though. Not helped by sofa bed and weight of husband meaning I keep rolling into the middle and can't get comfy. Sigh.

used2bthin · 01/06/2012 04:49

39weeks today, DHs birthday tomorrow and I said all through bet baby comes then! Sorry to hear its your dad's funeral rachelwalsh.
