I was going to join the other one but those luck ladies have had thier babies and are now talking all things newborn Envy.

So join me if you are fat and getting somewhat fed up!

I am 36+4 and a scan on Monday showed that DS is already weighing around 7lb 3 Shock. For that reason alone I'm hoping he puts in an appearance soon. Previous DC's have been 40+1, 39 and 39 and 7lb6, 8lb13 and 8lb12.5 so not so sure why this one is estimated to be so big!

I told bump the exact same thing when I got up this morning. You only have so long left before you are no longer a May baby. I don't think baby is listening. Haha. :)

KatyJ26 · 31/05/2012 06:52

Well.... I only went and had a baby last night at 1am ... A baby girl... Labour was horrid, but over quickly (3hours) and I am now at home with my perfect family on cloud 9! Still thinking of you all and hoping today is your day.Grin

SwivelHips · 31/05/2012 07:23

Wow what a great story to wake up to. A big congratulations to you Katy :)

Another one down...a few missing hopefully in action...

Come on May babies!!

LimeFlower · 31/05/2012 07:34

Lucky thinking about you-hope you're cuddling your baby without the onduction,if not-good luck.
Kveta I'm from a little bit more south

Off to town today to get some messages and meet the mw afterwards. What a miserable day.

SESthebrave · 31/05/2012 07:48

Congrats Katy :)

Right, how many more May babies can we squeeze out today?

SilverSage · 31/05/2012 07:53

Congratulations Katy. Good news.

I'm still here, but feeling marginally less fed up, as it's cloudy and a bit cooler here today! I'm still having ridiculous braxton hicks. It's starting to get boring now. I wish they'd either turn into the real thing or eff off!!

LimeFlower · 31/05/2012 07:53

Count me out SES
Off shopping soon so no baby in plans today.Forget about May you little bugger Angry

But go on,rest of you:)

Commutinghell · 31/05/2012 07:54

Kveta · 31/05/2012 08:26

congratulations Katy!

GingerLemonTea · 31/05/2012 08:29

Congratulations Katy!
Still nothing happening here at 40+5. I have midwife today and she said I could have a sweep. Undecided if I want this.
Have cold, sore throat and mouth/gums. Not a good combo.

luckynumber11 · 31/05/2012 08:29

Hi, sorry to add to your frustrations everyone, but another may baby has finally arrived! Gave birth to dd3 at 3.38am this morning, so she just counts as a may baby on 31st may! I think it was my turn though at 40+10... Only avoided induction by a matter of hours. Still a v. Long labour though, feeling a bit shell-shocked and also spaced out from gas and air and pethidine... We haven't finalised a name yet, but she's really sweet, feeding well and also having a sleep right now, so it's a lovely feeling. By far my biggest baby too - 8lbs 5 oz.
Thinking of all of you waiting, and hoping for happy news for you all soon.

McPhee · 31/05/2012 08:32

Can someone tell me who decides when you can be induced? Is it the midwife or someone higher?

My baby is measuring very big already at nearly 35 weeks, plus a lot of fluid. I'm stressing about becoming over stretched, because it's already painful. I just want baby out Sad

LimeFlower · 31/05/2012 08:34

lucky, you're not adding to frustrations-you were soooo overdue.Glad you have your daughter beside you and avoided induction :) Congratulations and enjoy the cuddles.Hope you'll recover very soon :)

Off I go ladies, will catch up with you later :)

SwivelHips · 31/05/2012 08:44

I knew it!! Congratulation Lucky, you are wayyyy ahead of me in the queue so no resentment here. Awe getting quite tearful with all the babies (wails - where's mineeeeeeeeeeee)

Blueand Red still missing in action!!

Enjoy your shopping Lime, may you remain intact until you get home :)

Sorry McPhee not a clue, i'm under consultant care so she's the only one I see really.

Weezie85 · 31/05/2012 08:51

Oh two more babies. How exciting.
Who is due next? I am 40+8 today. Makes me very jealous though to hear about all the lovely babies. Where are you baby???? What are you doing just hanging around. How rude. Haha.
McPhee I got told that I would be booked in for a sweep today, then another next week(not sure how they are going to work it with the jubilee though). Then they go on to induction at 42 weeks but I may be a tad later due to the holidays. Oh well.

LimeFlower · 31/05/2012 09:05

fret is first in the queue-sha had the same EDD as lucky- 21st of May.
weezie you might be next unless there's somebody more advanced.Right behind you as i'm 41 weeks today so this is what?40+7?

Thanks for your good wishes, ave a nice day:)

SwivelHips · 31/05/2012 09:07
Weezie85 · 31/05/2012 09:19

Oh Swivel, I have been ready since 37 weeks. So it feels long overdue now, haha.
Trying to think of things to do until my sweep, may make a cake. Will have to see what we have in, any suggestions for a lovely cake to make?

SwivelHips · 31/05/2012 09:33

Its ridiculous. I can't walk now without holding my crotch - its not a good look in the Tesco :)

Erm, not sure about the cake, I'm not really a sweet person you see, my suggestions would be pretty limited to rice crispy cakes. I've just cleaned the oven . I'm doing anything to keep moving. Going to sit down now with some tea and fruit loaf (my new addiction which i hope stops v soon)

Have a good bake off :)

Commutinghell · 31/05/2012 10:39

Congratulations Lucky GrinGrin
Weezie, making Ginger and lemon cake is my plan for tomorrow if this inspires you at all!
Swivel, my friend went into labour after cleaning the oven- and baby arrived in 25 minutes! Good luck Smile

ladyparking · 31/05/2012 11:19

Result! I squeezed out a beautiful baby girl in the early hours of Wednesday morning. This is no thread for me to recount the actual details as it wasn't quite the watery gentle birth arrival I'd hoped for! But give a f&*k now it's done, she's here, and it's all good!
Hang on in there my still-fat threadmates, any minute now......

BlueAndRedMakePurple · 31/05/2012 11:19

Congrats lucky and katy GrinGrinGrin

Sorry I wish to say I've been off having a baby but nope, I've been making a costume for my ds' s jubilee party tomoro. It's a bit cack but I wasn't paying £22 for one off eBay Shock.

and if it's helpful, signs that predicted labour was imminent:

  • ate for 3 days solid before
  • red dribbly discharge in increasing volume for the same time
  • vice like period cramp the day before
  • 2 days of lethargy followed by day of intense energy, sociability, and insomnia
Very noticeable changes basically, something was definitely up. Recommend you sleep as much as is humanly possible if experiencing any of the above x
