I was going to join the other one but those luck ladies have had thier babies and are now talking all things newborn Envy.

So join me if you are fat and getting somewhat fed up!

I am 36+4 and a scan on Monday showed that DS is already weighing around 7lb 3 Shock. For that reason alone I'm hoping he puts in an appearance soon. Previous DC's have been 40+1, 39 and 39 and 7lb6, 8lb13 and 8lb12.5 so not so sure why this one is estimated to be so big!

DH has suggested I move to the cot bed, apparently I give off some amount of heat!!

I'm now so big people are wondering if I'm about to burst. Doesn't help I frequently have to stop, bend over, pant, deal with the head butt and carry on. Its a good look.

Bloody boiling here again so I'm miserable again. I'm going to hoover/mop the living room and stage my new cushions/throws

I have a hot water bottle in the freezer which is going on my sausage like feet very shortly :)

used2bthin · 29/05/2012 13:36

Ha ha commuting I wish! I have so far dusted then made biscuits and eaten a few!

DH sleeps on the sofa these days, he snores so badly he still wakes me up from time to time even so but its much better.

BlueAndRedMakePurple · 29/05/2012 13:54

Earlier on I was convinced something was going to happen today! Insomnia worse than normal, raging heartburn...got up at 345am, did the washing up, put some washing in the machine etc. Started to get quite painful cramping/BH at regular intervals, and had what I assume was a bit of a show when I went to the loo to find pink stuff on the loo roll.

Fast forward to now and nothing. Not a twinge! Ggggrrr!

40+4 today. Sweep booked for Friday at 41 +0. I have thought for ages it'll be 1st June, am beginning to think I'm going to be right. Someone on this thread must give birth in May surely lol!

GingerLemonTea · 29/05/2012 14:51

Still here.
Nothing happening. 3 twinges, all hours apart. First one lasted about 20secs & was quite difficult to breathe through. That was hours ago.
Have inflamed gums as of weekend. Still too warm.
If nothing is happening tonight, I'm going to go out for dinner, then cinema to see, "What to expect when you're expecting".

used2bthin · 29/05/2012 14:54

ilovechips it won't be me, my cramps have gone too-apparently you can get them when dehydrated which seems to be the case for me. But the fact you've had a show is promising, fwiw my contractions with dd stopped for a few hours around five am then I sent XP off to work then my waters broke a few hours later so you never know!

SwivelHips · 29/05/2012 15:19

My cramps gone too but at least you've had a show ilovechipes...I'd kill for a show. Maybe its just too hot again....

On the plus side my house is looking frigging lovely and everything is mopped. I do love the smell of a fresh mop . A whole new living room awaits DH...that'll teach him the git.

Grin at blue and red topless.

luckynumber11 · 29/05/2012 16:21

Nothing happening here! I think I had a show last night, and then had crampy feeling bh's on and off during the evening, heartburn was back. So went to bed thinking light contractions were starting. But after a really bad nights sleep, just an hour or two here and there, all wound up etc, since I got up there has been absolutely nothing. Not a twinge. I only have tomorrow left, then it's off for induction on thurs, which I am dreading. Please, please come tomorrow baby!!! (and I will no doubt have another night of barely any sleep again tonight!) :(

fretfree · 29/05/2012 17:12

Hi - mind if I join??

EDD was 21 May (same as you I think luckynumber11). Just been to the hospital for a check up today - my amniotic fluid levels keep on going up (they were 9.9 cm on 11 May, 14.9 cm on 21 May and 21 cm today!! - I thought there was supposed to be less and less as time went on). Estimated weight 3.5 kg.

Tried for a membrane sweep, but as cervix is only 1cm at best that wasn't happening. Bump seems to be getting harder more often, and I have had a few cramps / BHs, so I was hoping I was further along.

On the plus side, induction is not booked until Friday. They have a policy of inducing anything after EDD for over 40s, which i have managed to fight off, and a policy of inducing at EDD +10 for under 40s. However, as they already have 4 inductions booked for that day, they tried to suggest Wednesday, but have OK'd me to Friday.

Not sure what else to try - I had a second acupuncture session today and have another tomorrow evening. Started re-reading the Harry Potter books on Tuesday once I went overdue...... but already half way through the 6th one (yes - I have not really had much to do but wait....).

So, very frustrated all in all. I have been listening to my hypno tapes and researching data and statistics on inductions etc - would love to keep to my "as natural as possible" birth plan.

Does anyone know how quickly things can change (e.g. cervix dilation)?

BlueAndRedMakePurple · 29/05/2012 18:07

Wonder if I could get my DH to perform refloxology on my feet??

OP posts:
SwivelHips · 29/05/2012 18:30

I'd have to chase my DH to get him to touch my feet these days :)
Worth a shot though....

Hi fretfree, fingers crossed for you, still a bit of time yet plus I read good things about acupuncture. Maybe you could swap Harry Potter for some racy literature...get those hormones pumping.

KatyJ26 · 29/05/2012 19:41

Wrote a big long thread and then lost the lot Sad I'm still here too - it's reassuring to know it's happening to us all, but k did think someone might have delivered by now. Good luck everyone - fingers crossed tonight is the night!

BlueAndRedMakePurple · 29/05/2012 19:44

I found this am currently using a clothes peg on my thumbs to apply pressure-do you think its a bit excessive? Confused

OP posts:
fretfree · 29/05/2012 20:37

The two main points that my acupuncture guy used today were SP6, which is four fingers up from the ankle on the inside of the leg (it will probably feel tender) and Hegu LI4 - can also be done with acupressure. You can find pictures here: acupuncture.rhizome.net.nz/Acupressure/induce.aspx

fretfree · 29/05/2012 20:38

Sorry - meant to add that Hegu is on the web between the thumb and first finger

Commutinghell · 29/05/2012 20:52

Haha blue and red I've been thinking about doing that! Might do it tomorrow when DH is at work so he doesn't think I'm bonkers! Grin

LimeFlower · 29/05/2012 21:00

Commuting laminate flooring?you can come to me,I've got all sorts of diy jobs to do,will be very happy with help.

used2be at least you're not spending any money

ilovechips the same boat as ou with the dates, except sweep on Thursday

lucky what about your OH-any chance to get VERY frisky tonight and tomorrow?

hi fret ,bummer that you and lucky are waiting so long

i got my tooth sorted out, cheaply and permanent filing so hapy about that.

changed my mind, want a June baby,DH said no way he's going to go anywhere tonight,MIL said "oooh,it could come out on Friday or Saturday as I've got nothing planned" so all of us siding against the little bugger coming out in May.

LimeFlower · 29/05/2012 21:09

Just had a look at the link BlueAndRed.
My mw said to absolutely not try castor oil.

MummyPigandDaddyPig · 29/05/2012 21:10

Still here not a twinge in sight. Sweep tomorrow morning, wish me luck!! Keeping fingers xxed for lots of lovely jubilee babies before the weekend!:)

LimeFlower · 29/05/2012 21:50

Swivel pin your DH to the wall and don't give him a choice sex nipple stimulation sex reflexology sex acupressure sex and don't take headache as an excuse :o

Commutinghell · 29/05/2012 22:02

I've given up and put pegs on my thumbs. Worryingly, DH appears not to have noticed!

Commutinghell · 29/05/2012 22:03

It doesn't half smart though!!

fretfree · 29/05/2012 22:09

Hi limeflower, my midwife has suggested rubbing castor oil on my bump. Worth a try I guess, as unlikely to have the, er, expulsive effect of drinking it, but if nothing else will at least moisturise :)

BlueAndRedMakePurple · 29/05/2012 22:20

No plans to take castor oil here, just looking at the reflexology part of the link.

I found the pegs started to hurt after a bit too, so I gave up Blush. Didn't seem to set any contractions off either Sad.

So have just jumped dh instead Grin how long do you think before I see wether that's worked?

OP posts:
LimeFlower · 29/05/2012 22:26

BlueAndRed i'm not an expert but i thought it was the same recommendation as at ttc-legs in air to let the cervix be soaked in semen containing the hormone (can't remember which one) that helps it to ripen.

Commutinghell try to put one on his knob :o:o:o and see whether he notices

any other remedies ladies?dancing naked in the moonlight outside, any magic spells?
