Just been diagnosed with posterior pp after small bleeds at 24 and 26 weeks. The placenta reaches but doesn't completely cover os.
I have been advised to stop work, pelvic rest, no lifting, pushing supermarket trolley, exercise and to take life very easy.
I have put myself on modified bed rest- spend a lot of time in bed/ sofa but get up to potter about the house and for a short slow gentle walk daily to prevent dvt.
I am really struggling emotionally. This is an ivf baby after 3 years ttc and 2 losses. I am so so scared baby will come very early and be poorly. We were so happy and now it just seems a nightmare.
I'm 27+1 today. Baby seems fine at the moment and oblivious of all the worry it is causing.

Aww that's very good news btc! See, it was soooooooooo worth it! You'll have forgotten all about the stresses soon!! X x

He is worth all of it- 3 years of ttc, 2 losses, thousands of pounds, scary bleeds, hospitals stays.
As for forgetting- I can see that the feeling when you hold your new baby is so special and addictive I can see why people do it again.
Big decision for the future, especially as we have 2 frozen embryos.

Hello everyone. Just thought I'd let you know I had my baby boy last Saturday. Started bleeding at about 9pm. Even though I had been told it would probably happen, I was really shocked and scared. It wasn't really dramatic but I had the feeling that if I got up and walked around it might have been. They decided pretty quickly to take me to theatre but the baby's heart rate was fine so it didn't feel like an emergency. My husband got there just in time and baby was born at 11pm and weighed 6lbs 10oz. I didn't have to have a GA and everything was really straight forward. I was able to breastfeed about 10 mins after leaving theatre and had a good hour of skin to skin so a much better experience than I thought it would be. After being in hospital for so long I was desperate to get home so left after less than 24 hours. I think the midwives thought I was mad but it's such a relief, baby is heavenly and my toddler seems to be handling it all really well. Any tips for caring for my cesarean scar? I'm not sure if I should be putting anything on it or just leave it. Glad everyone else is doing well x

Aww congratulations A86, that's fantastic news!!! Well done! Tips for scar, I just left mine! Make sure it's clean and the air can get to it, and most of all, don't overdo it!!!!! You can re open it!!!

Btc, gosh what a rolercoaster for you! But what an amazing ending!!! And yes, worth every heartache and worry!! There amazing! Good luck with whatever the future brings you and your descision with those little embryos! I'm sure whatever descision you make will be perfect for your family! Enjoy it!!!!! There amazing!!!!!

Congratulations agnesrose. What gestation were you?
Sounds a bit like mine- emergency cs but still a very positive experience.
For my scar I stuck to showers rather than baths for over a week. When I'm in the shower I spray the scar with savlon spray. This was a tip from my surgeon when I had a lap and dye. Then when I get out I lie on the bed for a few minutes to let it air and make sure it is nice and dry. Nearly 3 weeks on it is healing well.

I was 37+5 weeks. So happy I got that far. He seemed so tiny at first but after almost constant feeding he looks a lot more robust now and even has a bit of belly! Thanks for the scar tips, really useful x
