Or maybe it is worse this time because I am so much older?

The tiredness is appalling, I am dreading the week at work ahead. I have parents evening (three late nights) coming up and I really don't know how I am going to cope. The more tired I am the sicker I feel too. I can't concentrate on anything properly because of the sickness. I am talking crap and I forgot how to spell porridge whilst writing it on the board Blush

I have severely held it against my DH because I am too knackered and sick to go out to a friend's birthday celebration tonight (obviously it is his fault Grin).

God, I am a moaning old cow already and I am only nine weeks. Hopefully this will stop soon. and then I start complaining about the indigestion

Oh I agree with the thing about smells, didn't have this with my last two but this time the strangest thing can turn my stomach. Can't breath in when I open the fridge - there's nothing especially stinky in there just an indefinable eurgh! It was my daughter's birthday recently and the smell of her birthday cake really made me feel nauseous, what's that about?? I love cake.

The oddest thing though is that cbeebies makes me feel ill!!! I think it's because afternoons and evenings are worst and my daughter watches cbeebies late afternoon before dinner, my brain has now made a connection between feeing sick and cbeebies, just the thought of cbeebies sets me off!!! I hope it isn't a permanent response, I couldn't get by without trusty channel 71.

mmmerangue · 20/03/2012 15:19

I was sick almost every morning for 8 months. All food made me feel ill except cheese sandwiches and oranges. This thread is bringing back all that which Gas & Air and a nice'n'quick 4 hour labour made me forget. No longer feeling Broody again. One kid might not feel like enough, but one pregnancy definitely did!!

Good luck pregnant ladies, hope you all feel better soon...

PestoPenguin · 20/03/2012 17:59

JaneB1rkin -there is hope Grin

My first pg was the worst (8 months of puking every morning and 12 weeks of nausea), number 2 and three were a breeze, with a little wave of nausea v occasionally. I think I might have thrown up once each time maybe.

However, 4th time I'm just past 20 weeks and only just started feeling less nauseous. I'm still v v tired and I'm still not sure each morning whether I'm going to be sick or not, but it's been 4 days now so fingers crossed...

Never. Again.

HumphreyCobbler · 20/03/2012 19:57

Oh GOD, I am really afraid now that it won't stop at 12 weeks like it has before.

I feel like I am trapped in a nightmare. I agree about the smells, I had parent consultations earlier and someone was wearing perfume. It was vile. Even the smell of a crust of bread has made me retch. And as for my children's breath after eating chocolate ice-cream.....

I've given up pretending I'm ok. This time round is shit. I feel like my brain has been substituted for cotton wool, I'm knackered, queasy and over emotional. Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish.

Oh, and if I don't eat every 20 minutes I get the shakes. Wtf is that about?! I'm sure I sailed through my last pregnancy although I did have dreadful baby brain until about week 11/12.

Congratulations to everyone on your pregnancies and also sympathies for having to put up with being pregnant!

AliceHurled · 20/03/2012 22:01

I have similar things to the cbeebies aversion. Can't share as typing it would make me vom but the weirdest things make me feel sick. MN can at times. I frequently have to avoid the pregnancy board if I'm feeling a bit too nauseous.

Fishandjam · 21/03/2012 08:33

Ladies, I'm hearing your pain. I'm 26 weeks and the first trimester was AWFUL. I thought I'd had it bad in my first pregnancy but as it turns out, I didn't know I was born. Cleaning spew off the walls of my office toilet was a particular low point this time round. The nausea has now gone (save when I go into the aforesaid office toilets - really weird air freshener in there) but I'll still hurl if I brush my back teeth too vigorously, or blow my nose too enthusiastically. And we do not talk about the tiredness. Or the restless legs. Or the heartburn.

Kveta · 21/03/2012 09:50

moonhare try and get some DVDs for your DD - I had an aversion to CBeebies too, and we ended up watching Wallace and Gromit films, or The Lion King ('baby lion now mummy?') and various cartoons (Timmy Time, some from my husband's childhood, Peppa).

hope everyone is feeling better soon! not mentioning how I feel at 29 weeks in case it makes people cry

LittleLolly · 21/03/2012 10:27

I am holding on to the thought that at 12 weeks I am going to wake up and feel like myself again.... Tell me it's true!!! I can't bear the thought of 4 more weeks of feeling like this, never mind more than that! I even told husband last night that this baby is going to be an only child because I'm not doing this again :(

KatieMiddleton · 21/03/2012 10:30

After a particularly grim day yesterday I am feeling a bit better. There is hope.

JaneB1rkin · 21/03/2012 10:38

Oh thanks Pesto Smile I guess you never can know until you're in it! I hope you feel better soon. Can you think of anything different about your middle two pregnancies?

I'm hoping we have a girl this time as it might make a difference. My first two were both boys.

Moonhare, I had an awful aversion to cbeebies as well with my second. It was particularly the theme tune to Granny Murray. I still can't hear it now without feeling like I might be sick. Seriously hate that programme!

It wasn't just cbeebies though, it was the other things ds1 watched - we had a video of Babe and even the songs from that can set me off now. The lovely song where the farmer is dancing, and the pig is going to be alright, I mean it's beautiful but it still fills me with utter doom and dread.

Ah the joys of pregnancy.

AliceHurled · 21/03/2012 11:13

Me too Katie! Maybe it's something in the air!

If anyone else is struggling with the evil vile taste of toothpaste, I bought some toothy tabs from lush yesterday and can now bear to brush my teeth without grimacing.

AliceHurled · 21/03/2012 11:13

Lolly we must believe its true Grin

mrsnisy · 11/11/2012 10:18

I'm 35 fifth pregnancy and this is how I feel. &%$#$%! Like pure crap and smell like it to. I can't stand people right now specially people who say ( you can't be that bad. I had mornig sickness before and its not that serious.) I'm like yay lucky for you. They puked one or twice during their pregnancy and call it ms. Try feeling like your toting spoiled milk in your stomach all day long while your spinning on a merry go round.

rogersmellyonthetelly · 12/11/2012 07:13

I think everyone forgets to a degree, and certainly everyone is at least a little older every time they do it. I was 7 years older this time, and it made a massive difference. I'm 27 weeks now and still don't have a good appetite, the all day nausea has mostly gone and the awful tiredness, but now I'm getting into the realms of spd and struggling to get comfy in bed and can't put my own shoes on.

DanniDan · 19/05/2013 09:25

It's so comforting to read all of these!

I'm a first time mum and at 9 weeks I feel sick, if I'm not sick I'm hungry, if I'm not hungry I'm constantly tired and in bed as early as I can! I feel sorry for my partner who puts up with all of that and my awful mood swings 😞I cry about everything and take it all out on him! I know I'm doing it but I can't help it! Among all of that I worry about getting fat, not having my own time or money and giving birth is the mist frightening bit of all as a 'pain threshold' doesn't exist for me 😞

mumoftwoboysS · 20/05/2013 15:25

good to hear of so many having their 3rd on here! I seem to be the only one out of my friends.

And I feel like crap too. 9 weeks and feel nauseaus, tired, and more tired! DS (whose 4) is gaining massively from the wall I hit early afternoon (can't move off the sofa and need a cup of tea even though it makes me feel sick) and is getting an extra half our (at least) of tv a day! oops

I don't work so I don't know how you lot must be coping having to 'do stuff' all day. I know the housework can wait (for a while at least) but you don't have that option at work.

anyone else have bad skin (on top of the bloating, nausea, general hag-look) my face looks like I've gone back in time to that horrid awkward 16 yr old phase - except I've got wrinkles too- yay!! Fanfrickintastic Hmm

ELR · 20/05/2013 16:59

This is making me regret my decision ttc no3! I had forgotten all the sickness, tiredness ect well not exactly forgotten just glossed over in my mind.
Oh well it only lasts for a while!

Laurencita · 20/05/2013 17:05

I couldn't agree more with all the points made. Pregnant with first (15 and a bit weeks). All day sickness easing off but now started bleeding and was admitted over the weekend. All seems OK but so far this pregnancy lark seems more like an illness. I am sure it is worth it though. keep strong everyone!

littleducks · 20/05/2013 17:14

This thread made me smile, I'm sick if pregnant women glowing. I am rubbish at pregnancy, this is my third.... Being older doesn't help and I'm technically relatively young (late 20s).

I'm about 18/19/20 weeks, I have stopped counting as it was just making it seem longer. I still feel like I'm dying most days, gag walking down the street and have hot flushes where I reckon I'm going to faint.

Bibs123 · 20/05/2013 18:21

Great somewhere to moan. I am 7. 3 and sick as a dog. To make things worse I have the mother of all colds and feel TERRIBLE. I felt awful last time but I think u forget the full extent until you feel it again and it comes flooding back. I have insomnia and constant tiredness. Smells are making me retch. It is really really really grim! Oh yes and I forgot about the trapped wind, burping and bloating. Urgh!

ipswichwitch · 20/05/2013 19:56

I'm 10 weeks an this time the ms is at worse. Everything is making me feel sick, I can't clean my teeth, cough, sneeze, or even turn my head quick without retching. I'm always managing to be sick when there's nothing on my stomach so I'm left feeling like I've been turned inside out. Heartburn and restless legs have started already and I'm so knackered I'm nodding off at work - while standing!

I keep saying I'll not moan about it all - had a mmc last November, and said as long as things go ok this time I'll suck it up, hence the rant on here!! I even tried encouraging the cat to entertain DS (19mo) earlier so I didn't have to get up. Didn't work, bloody uncooperative cat.

DerbyNottsLeicsNightNanny · 20/05/2013 20:02

I have also really struggled this time (2nd child). I'm also a teacher and since I was about 6wks I have been doing half days only as got a 'fit note' from the docs. Still on my usual pay as its counts as sickness I think. It's the only way I have coped with work due to sickness, nausea & tiredness, & think I will continue with the short days until the end (am 22wks now)

littleducks · 22/05/2013 09:20

Guess what makes the mornings better for me......

McDonalds egg muffin, hash brown and coffee.

Shock after being hospitalised with HG I'm just going with it but think it disproves the craving fulfill a nutritional deficit thing, it's basically grease!

ELR · 22/05/2013 20:46

I can remember just wanting to eat stodge when pregnant. My faves were chips, pies and fish cakes from the chippy and strangely ice burg lettuce!
