Or maybe it is worse this time because I am so much older?

The tiredness is appalling, I am dreading the week at work ahead. I have parents evening (three late nights) coming up and I really don't know how I am going to cope. The more tired I am the sicker I feel too. I can't concentrate on anything properly because of the sickness. I am talking crap and I forgot how to spell porridge whilst writing it on the board Blush

I have severely held it against my DH because I am too knackered and sick to go out to a friend's birthday celebration tonight (obviously it is his fault Grin).

God, I am a moaning old cow already and I am only nine weeks. Hopefully this will stop soon. and then I start complaining about the indigestion

I'm only 6 weeks-ish and it's amazing how the hormones get you! I've not been too bad compared to how some of you have had it :( but I keep feeling sick, wanting food but then when I picture something specific I really can't imagine eating it. It's alright when it's in front of me but until then the thought of it is just gross! My boobs are really sore too and I've had the odd dizzy spell and a few random moments of crying but nothing too major just yet.

The bit i'm not liking is how i feel so bloated and really chubby and horrible, I just feel, grim. It just seems to be making me feel really crappy and i'm often really tired even when i've not done much in a day. I also don't like that if i don't have any symptoms I wonder that there's something wrong. I can't help panicking, i'm terrible!

oikopolis · 18/03/2012 16:35

MissPolly don't give up hope, things started getting better for me once i was half-way between 12 and 13 weeks. might still improve.

you might want to punch your SIL though. that will def make you feel better

MoonHare · 18/03/2012 18:07

Oh I just had to joint this thread. I came downstairs after lying listlessly in bed for an hour and feeling no better for it in order to moan to DH and had a quick look at MN as he had the lap top out - I am certainly feeling sick and tired today.

3rd pg 9 weeks yesterday. 2 DCs 3.5yr and 12mth and I'm 38.

First time I felt sick (but never actually vomitted) til 14 weeks, last time the same til 20 weeks. Hoping this one doesn't follow the trend of extending the period of nausea!

I actually felt really well on Wed, Thur and Fri and even started to worry a little about what that meant. Needn't have worried - it's all back with avengence this weekend!!!

I had SPD last time too and have already been feeling the tell tale grinding and cluncking for the last couple of weeks. No pain yet though and plan to see a private chiropractor this time - NHS utterly unhelpful last time.

Hey ho. Hanging on to the knowledge that it's all worth it in the end and that a few weeks after baby's here I will have completely forgotten again just how horrid these early weeks are..........:)

My very sincere empathetic sympathies to you all. We'll get through it x

Longtalljosie · 18/03/2012 20:42

Oh hello everyone, can I join you? I'm 11 weeks and don't know what to do with myself. I'm knackered, can barely face work (late shifts and I want to be in bed by 9!) and constantly feel like I'm going to hurl. My Mum reckons (I can't remember) that I got better at 14 weeks last time so I'm hoping that'll be the case again...

FrozenNorthPole · 18/03/2012 21:45

Why don't I feel better yet Sad? Am 13+3 today, but still feeling sick ... tired ... immensely grumpy. Found the heartbeat with my doppler a few days ago though, and have found it each day since for a few seconds ... it's odd but for those few seconds I don't feel ill at all. I suppose it's a fantastic reminder that it really is all worth it, along with my 2 lovely DDs. With DD2, I genuinely remember feeling that the newborn period was like a honeymoon compared to still being pregnant Grin

*JaneB1rkin

Has anyone had a GOOD third pregnancy? And I'm old now too (38)*

I'm on my third and old at 38 too and this is my easiest yet so far touch wood fingers crossed etc although now i have typed that....!

I honestly don't think that previous pregnancies have much effect on how you are with your next one.

Longtalljosie · 19/03/2012 07:56

Yes, the newborn period is much better than late pregnancy. I had a horrible time towards the end with DD, dreadful mid-back pain, very little sleep, exhausted - and a colleague asked how I was and when I said I was tired and had stabby pains in my back replied "I don't want to worry you - but if you think this is bad, having a baby is much, much worse". Ta for that. I was delighted to report back that the sheer joy of the stabbing pain going and being able to lie on my back again (not to mention the joy of having DD, obvs) made up for any newborn sleep deprivation...

JaneB1rkin · 19/03/2012 08:47

OMG - thankyou SO much! Yes I needed to hear that! Grin

It's a bit silly as it might not even happen but if it does, I will cling to your words like the proverbial - erm - something you cling to a lot Grin

JaneB1rkin · 19/03/2012 08:49

I agree Josie, newborn babies are a doddle compared to my pregnancies so far.

That's the entire POINT of having children, isn't it, the bit when they are teeny? After about a year I get broody again and want another one. Hopeless Grin

Bear1984 · 19/03/2012 11:16

I swear I read it gets easier after your first child Hmm Clearly not!

10 weeks today with 2nd baby and I feel like the life is being sucked out of me... It's been 10 years since I was last pregnant, so I feel that also doesn't help. I've already told DP we're not having anymore. I would like to quit my job as I feel I'm not resting as much as I need to!

toodles · 19/03/2012 12:21

Oh, I feel your pain. Not pregnant, but my 4th morning sickness was horrible and I didn't really vomit often. Just that constant miserable, nauseous, tired, grim feeling. It only lasted around 8-10 weeks but I always said that I would rather go through labour twice, than go through morning sickness once. After the excruating labour pain, at least you have your beautiful baby. Hope you all feel better soon.

Angelico · 19/03/2012 13:19

Sympathy to all who are suffering. It is my first ever pregnancy (aged 34 and 3/4) and mostly sailed through the first 9-10 weeks with just the odd bit of tiredness. "What is all the fuss about?" I thought, raising my eyebrows at all the horror stories.

Heh, mother nature's a bitch. Last week and a half I have been so tired I'm not sure how I am still alive. Constantly dizzy and exhausted, staggering around in a daze, forgetting everything, capable of nothing. What to Expect website assures me this is normal and that the bean is taking all my blood, leaving me with none for my brain. Oh well, that's all right then Hmm Got my iron checked last week - waiting for results and hoping it's something I can easily remedy.

Had a scan last week and the bean was jumping about so much ultrasound lady couldn't get a pic at first. It was pumping one arm like a raver off its tits on speed. So that is where my energy went...

11+3 and full of black hate for people with normal energy levels :o

blondiep14 · 19/03/2012 13:20

I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and still feeling horrendous and chucking up quite regularly.
I definitely didn't feel this bad with my other two, and was positively chirpy by this point with both of them

justasecond · 19/03/2012 13:22

I agree with toodles. I had terrible early pregnancy with dc3. It lasted until about 12 weeks but felt like an eternity. Awful nausea and complete exhaustion. After that though it was fine even though I had spd with dc2 with dc3 it was fine. Hang in there it may only be another couple of weeks until you feel a lot better.

bellasheffalump · 19/03/2012 14:49

Am in early stages of my 2nd pregnancy. Feeling rotten too. Feeling sick, tired and bloated. Don't remember this from last time. Had spd last time, already getting twinges. Am I imagining this? Rant over. Hope everyone feels better soon

oikopolis · 19/03/2012 14:53

the exhaustion is something else eh?

i'm over the worst of it now (touch wood... please God no more), but at one point around 8 weeks, looking at a flat surface of any kind was like torture. all i wanted to do was lie down everywhere for a lovely long sleep.

mammanetta · 19/03/2012 17:28

am trying to get pregnant with my 2nd - and I am an old, stroppy and emotional hag even un-pregnant...good god, not much hope for me then Grin
seriously though - thanks for the thread - makes me feel so much better about my negative feelings around this subject - am dreading the pregnancy and am not even there yet!

Bumpsadaisie · 19/03/2012 18:34

Id have DC3 if I just had to do birth, newborn, three kids under 5. I mean it would be bloody hard work and probably foolish in practical terms (no bedrooms needed, car size etc) but I'd be up for it.

But I just cannot contemplate another 9 month slog .... and especially not another first trimester. God, I felt ill.

Bumpsadaisie · 19/03/2012 18:36

Actually this thread has cheered me up. I have had two weeks of norovirus followed by the coughing and temperature flu bug. DD (2.8) was ill last week. DS (4 months) is ill now. I look like a zombie and feel dreadful.

But DH reminded me that this time last year I was about 9 weeks with DS and no matter how dreadful I feel now, it is better than THAT! Grin.

Commiserations ladies. You just have to plod through it.

Frescolita · 19/03/2012 20:15

I love you all. I feel less alone now. I am 10 weeks and focused on surviving the next two. I've been feeling icky since week 5, and started throwing up at the weekend (i thought i had been spared, but i haven't). DH is amazing, he is in charge of the dishwasher and the fridge, as both smell revolting. Tell me the 2nd trimester is better??

AliceHurled · 19/03/2012 22:04

Oh tell me about the revolting smells! I can't bear our chopping board at the moment. Evil thing smelling of onions. I can smell it as soon as I walk into the kitchen.

Longtalljosie · 19/03/2012 22:48

And anyone else have a constant acrid taste in their mouth. It is doing my head in...

AliceHurled · 20/03/2012 08:12

Absolutely. I hate it and nothing takes it away.

CardiCorgi · 20/03/2012 08:33

The computer swallowed my moaning yesterday, but I am with you on the horrible taste. Bleugh. I have some suger-free sweets which help a little but only for a short time.
DH's coffee smelt horrible this morning too, I'm just thankful that I haven't gone off tea.

No way am I doing this again, twice is enough.

farfallarocks · 20/03/2012 14:29

I feel permanently hungover and so so tired, only 7 weeks.
Eating every 2 hours seems to do the trick,
However, I am loving it! After 2 MCs I like every little reminder that there is something going on in there
