Fairy, you take very good care of yourself. I'm thrilled you're still in the running...

Monkeys, good effort with the list, however, we came to a decision last week that we wouldn't compile another one until April. This is out of respect for those ladies who've sadly lost their babies in recent days and weeks. Also, I think we all agreed we would feel much more secure entering the second trimester of our pregnancies, when we will create another list. Until then, someone had the great idea of putting our status at the bottom of each post eg. 40yrs, 7+1, 1st child.

missbone · 20/02/2012 14:41

P.s...never heard of littleplasticpeople or moredeadlier. Are you sure they're on this particular thread?

ST82 · 20/02/2012 15:03

Helloooo :) i am due on Oct 02!

So far, have not experiences a single morning sickness... do you reckon there is still time for this horrible thing to kick in?

mirikat · 20/02/2012 15:05

Not sure if any further recommendations are needed for the itching condition, but all the talk of Aveeno reminded me of this strange press trip I once went on with my sister (a health journalist), where we visited the Avene spa in France. Apparently there are some miraculous healing properties in the thermal water there, and once this was discovered, some scientific types distilled the goodness into products which work wonders on eczema, pruritus and all sorts of other skin conditions. They sell the range in Boots I believe, and people swear by it, (some even do annual pilgrimages to the place in France to get intense treatment at source). Had totally forgotten I knew about the brand until the name Aveeno reminded me, but it might be worth a try for anyone suffering. Hope this helps, here's a link to the Avene site www.avene.co.uk/

Angelico · 20/02/2012 15:48

Thanks for the advice ladies, great to hear the suggestions. I'm confident it's not OC but looked it up last night in What to Expect and it blames hormones (zzzzzzz). Will def try the oats and Aveeno thanks Thanks.

I'd second Missbone on the list, it's not to get at anybody who was all excited and posted the list but we really did notice it on the last thread when people had losses and the people who had MCs said they really would not want to be left on the list. It began to get quite sad and awkward so the concensus was come April people will feel a bit more secure.

Fairy really glad you are okay - keep well and rest up x

8abyDust · 20/02/2012 17:24

Fairy glad you're ok too.

I'm in agreement with the list, wait a while I think.

Went back to work after a few days off today and I am now knackered. The tiredness is a killer isn't it?! Soo sleepy! DH away for the week again so its a ready meal and early night for me, am already in my pjs!!

Oo and I had a massive craving for mcdonalds fries yesterday, never been keen on them but omg i enjoyed them!!!

missbone · 20/02/2012 17:35

ST82, congratulations and welcome Thanks Can you tell us a bit about yourself? You seem to have appeared from nowhere!!

I'm 40yrs, 7 weeks today (hurrah!), 1st child.

Sumsey · 20/02/2012 18:09

missbone thanks for your words hon...x x x x

i will keep checking in on you all :)

Heartbeep · 20/02/2012 18:15

Just got my scan date & booking it's 29th march. Only thing is I'm supposed to be having the CUBS test ie nuchal and bloods but I'll be nearly 15 weeks by then. Does anyone know if this is too late for the nuchal test? Also even if it's just on the cusp I understand that the nuchal test can only take place if the baby is lying a particular way, therefore it's better to do it closer to 12 as you have time to be retested if it doesn't work. Anyone else know about this? I'm going to call them tomorrow to try and bring it forward a bit, but fully anticipate them being a bit resistant to change the date...

Hope everyone is keeping well, I'm still throwing up at a rather alarming rate, hardly eating at all it's so bad :(

TheGrandOldDuke · 20/02/2012 18:23

Help!!!
Just been to the loo and had v faint pink on the tissue Sad
By my reckoning I'm 7+5... too late for implantation?? I don't know! Help... Sad Sad

Angelico · 20/02/2012 18:26

Heartbeep this link says you need to get it done between 11 and 14 weeks - not sure if this is an American site - but might be worth checking:

Grandoldduke I literally just read something about getting some bleeding around the 7 week mark - something to do with the placenta taking over something?! Try not to panic, will try and find link but can't remember what I was reading.

Angelico · 20/02/2012 18:29

Found it!

About 40% of bleeding episodes occur during early pregnancy, usually at 5 to 7 weeks, and is spotting (normally dark blood) at about the time your period would have been due. Sometimes a small amount of blood is lost when the placenta matures at about 7 weeks and takes over the progesterone production. This can be frightening but is quite common and in most cases your pregnancy will continue as normal without harming the baby at all.

TheGrandOldDuke · 20/02/2012 18:31

Thanks Angelico for the ray of hope. Will mostly be spending all night praying!!!
I did too much today as well, hard not to with a 2 year old, but maybe I need to try and slow down a little.
Must...breathe....calm.....

YompingJo · 20/02/2012 18:40

8abydust, properly jealous, would love to be in my PJs already! I have an hour of pilates to get through first - and it's not the relaxing kind either. I would bin it for the next few months, but I have a bad back so I feel that it is more important than ever before now :(

Today is the start of week 7 for me - eek! I find it confusing though, today I am 6 + 1 but that means it is the 7th week - is it just me who can't quite get my head around this?

sumsey, it's nice to hear from you Smile. Let us know how you get on!

Hope all is okay TheGrandOldDuke lots of love x

8abyDust · 20/02/2012 18:43

YompingJo you're a better woman than me! I also find the week thing confusing, my DH trys to explain it to me but I'm still unsure....I'm 7+2 so in my 8th week?!

missbone · 20/02/2012 18:46

GrandOldDuke, what lovely words of encouragement from Angelico...what a star. Please do take your own advice about being easy on yourself. I have just prayed for the safety of your baby. Do you own a bible? (Mark ch. 5 v 36) xx

missbone · 20/02/2012 18:49

Yomping, I guess it's the same with age: when we're in our 30s, say, we're actually in our 4th decade? Oooooh! This means I'm in my eighth week! (7 weeks today)

TheGrandOldDuke · 20/02/2012 19:05

Thanks everyone, just rang the early pregnancy unit and they said if it's going to happen then the next 24 hours will tell. BUT that because I am constipated as the most constipated thing in the world (sorry TMI, but true!), that this can cause the cervix to leak some blood when you try to go... So I am clinging onto this!!
Thanks for the kind wishes, nice not to have to go through this worry alone.
Hope everyone else is doing well and not having any such bleeding xxx

Bubblebell1 · 20/02/2012 19:37

Hey all. Been a long day at dp nans funeral. Emotionally and physically drained.

Just wanted to tell grandoldduke that I had exactly that. Constipated and after a rather large bowel movement Blush I had some blood tinged cm. I do every time I have a poo now or if I over do it. Ran after kids the other day and had it then too.
Please try not to worry. I know it's hard x

TheGrandOldDuke · 20/02/2012 19:49

Bright red drops now Sad guess I need to move to a different thread Sad
good luck everyone with your pregnancies xxx

Angelico · 20/02/2012 20:02

Don't despair yet Grandoldduke - it could be the thing the midwife and bubblebell said about - little bit of bleeding from the cervix. My sister had some bleeding at 6.5 weeks before xmas (lots of fresh blood) and went to A&E convinced it was miscarriage (she'd had one before). Bean was fine and there was a heartbeat. It was something called a cervical erosion - she's 16 weeks now and bean is thriving. So please try not to panic - just wait and see or maybe go to A&E and see if you can get a scan. xoxox

missbone · 20/02/2012 20:04

GrandOld Duke I'm so, so sorry. Please come back to us soon xxx

Evilwater · 20/02/2012 20:06
