Welcome back Marie! You were missed! Are you due on 7th. October? (I'm 7 wks tomorrow and due on 8th.) xx

Zoeplankton · 19/02/2012 21:32

Hi everyone!

I'm still here - don't worry missbone :)

Just wanted to tell you all that laredoute.com has an up to 75% off sale on - limited maternity section, but lots and lots of very long stretchy/roomy tops, many around the five pound mark!

Angelico · 19/02/2012 22:07

Right, new symptom and it is fucking torture excuse my French!!!

My shins have itched like absolute buggery on and off all day. The pharmacist in Boots told me it's common in pregnancy and recommended E45 Itch Relief Cream. Just tried it and it has actually made it worse!!! Legs are now red and burning as well as itching!!! Aaaaaaaagggggghhhhh!!!! Anyone know any good creams or potions??? I never get eczema or anything like that, don't have/know any magic creams and I CANNOT STAND THIS ITCHING!!! :(

lisbethsopposite · 19/02/2012 22:16

Never herd of itching like that related to pregnancy - have you calmine lotion?

Sumsey · 19/02/2012 22:25

Sumsey · 19/02/2012 22:26

missbone · 19/02/2012 23:38

Jo!! I miss you, darling! Thanks for coming back to us...do you have to go? Sad Can't you stick around and let us cheer you on through the TTC-ing? (imagine us all with cheerleader pom-poms at the foot of your bed around ovulation day!) Grin

Won't be long until you're waving your BFP at us, I swear...xxx

missbone · 19/02/2012 23:39

Hiya Zoe! [waves enthusiastically] x

missbone · 19/02/2012 23:41

Angelico, lovey, I do not know what to suggest. Will ask my Mum (the oracle of everything), tomorrow morning x

marvellousmarie · 20/02/2012 05:42

Calamine is a good idea, wash off the old stuff, apply some ice cold flannels to reduce inflammation. It will be a case of trial and error with creams, but to be honest I would use Vaseline!

It reminds me of a time at the end of my last pregnancy when I got the most awful rash, at about 39 weeks. It was called PUPP (look it up if interested) I needed hydrocortisone cream which is a steroid Confused so had to use it sparingly! It was a NIGHTMARE! And found cold flanels and vaseline helped, the more you itched the more it hurt!

Right I'm going to get ready for work! Sad but then I did have 8 hrs of solid sleep, bliss! Had the longest wee mind when I woke up! Phew!

Have a good day ladies xxx

Fairygodmother1 · 20/02/2012 06:55

Well, an update to keep my mind from breaking me apart...got up for a wee & to get ready for work, went to the loo & a ton of brownish-pink discharge, the sort I get at the beginning or end of a period.

Spoken to Midwife team but they won't see me until I see a DR. Then he needs to decide whether I need to go to EPU!

So off to Dr in about 30 mins!

mirikat · 20/02/2012 07:08

Fingers crossed for you fairygodmother, hope it's nothing serious! xx
Am working a late shift today so just lounging around at home this morning (am four hours ahead of UK)...nothing to report symptom-wise, other than (and excuse this if TMI), am no longer constipated...in fact am the polar opposite, and I suspect several pounds lighter for finally evacuating the utter rubbish I have been chowing down on since Friday! Massive apologies to anyone waking up and thinking about breakfast who has had the misfortune to see this post, but can't think of anyone else to tell; and DP is, I suspect, not finding my bowel-related updates while he's at work as charming as he did two weeks ago...BTW in case I never mentioned my stats before, am 7 weeks today, with first baby.

Cheekychops29 · 20/02/2012 07:27

Angelico I know this sounds ridiculous but bathing in oats, it's a family secret for eczema and other skin conditions! What I would do is wrap a handful of oats in a muslin (if you have one) or the like, organza jewellery pouches are good too and use it like the soap on the effected area. It should sooth the itch and make your skin really soft! It's really good as it's a natural product so won't sting like creams! And repeat for a week or so x

missbone · 20/02/2012 08:19

Fairy, we will all be thinking of you this morning. I've said a prayer for you xx

Mirikat...I'll swap bowel problems with you! I swear someone has stolen my sphincter...there's a shed-load of crap up there which is gonna need a pneumatic drill to get out! FED. UP!!! By-the-way, Mirikat, I'm 7 wks preggo today, too!! Hurrah!!

DameFlatYouLent · 20/02/2012 08:50

Angelico I'd recommend Aveeno body cream. It's made with oatmeal, and it's the only thing that really works on my eczema - all e45 creams make it much worse. I only discovered Aveeno recently but am a huge convert and tell everyone about it wherever I go! You can get it in Boots usually.

cordiality · 20/02/2012 11:39

Quietly lurking here, but HUGE second from me for Aveeno, I am a convert too, it's sorted me right out. Also might be worth looking into whether there are any antihistamines you can take when pregnant and take one before bed to stop you itching at night. I feel itchy just THINKING about E45!!!

twolittlemonkeys · 20/02/2012 11:39

Wow! It's taken me ages to catch up on everything I've missed. Welcome and congrats to those who've just joined us. I am so sorry for the losses there have been amongst us. :( I sympathise and am praying that I won't MC again (I am terrified that I will). I am planning to book an early scan in a couple of weeks time (for anyone in Midlands, there is a clinic in Hinckley which offers them for £50, which is a bit of a bargain IMO as the rest of the clinics seem to charge £85-100)

Anyway, we had a fab holiday at Disneyland, the kids loved it. I gorged on croissants etc which has done my waistline no favours and now quite a few of my jeans are too tight Blush Can't bring myself to arouse everyone's suspicions by wearing maternity clothes yet as all mine seem to highlight not disguise my tummy! The MS hit whilst we were away, only actually threw up a couple of times, have been getting that horrible acid reflux/ sicky taste in the back of my throat quite a lot though. Not only that, I am now suffering from that other really horrible pregnancy symptom - piles Blush Glamourous eh?

Have added myself onto this list, it may not be accurate any more, maybe we can order it more/ fill in the gaps?

FjordMor · 20/02/2012 11:52

Angelico - I'd second Aveeno cream, especially the blue one. Been using it for years & I used to have eczema but use this daily and have rarely had any since. I won't use any other moisturiser now, I stockpile it 'cos they don't sell it here in Norway.

Elpis & missbone - great! That takes a weight off my mind. :) GP can wait.

fariygodmother everything crossed for you today x

missbone - thanks Thanks for the welcome & the morning laugh :o and all the suggestions Wink. Actually I was on the first thread but have barely had time to look/post since. Telling no-one is super-hard!!! going anywhere also. I have to drive back to the UK in a week, alone Shock although I'm going to take it slow - try and do it over 4 days perhaps. I don't have a job! (which is a bit of a nightmare as no income at all and just racking up debt until I sell my flat) Gave up my job 1 year 3 months ago to look after my dying father and suffered from PTSD afterwards. It's almost impossible to get work here without Norwegian language. Going to have to find self-employed work (typing prob) & keep on doing it right through as many hours as I can manage as DP doesn't really earn enough for 3 & has 2 other kids to support as well. But hey ho :) Guess I should feel more worried & stressed than I do...As for the bras & gypsy skirts...my personal nightmare is that I had the unmanageably huge boobs of an overweight pregnant woman before I got pregnant. 34J ain't an easy size to find... :o (& right now going braless, even for a few moments, is extremely uncomfortable...)

FjordMor · 20/02/2012 12:00

twolittlemonkeys - I'm 41, due on Oct 14th, first baby.

DameFlatYouLent · 20/02/2012 12:23

Elpis thanks, that's good to know! 3 years is quite an achievement!

twolittlemonkeys · 20/02/2012 12:43

Argh, I seem to fluctuate between feeling ravenous and stuffing my face and feeling nauseous and not wanting to eat anything.

My skin has broken out (I do suffer from breakouts normally due to PCOS) It is worse than it's ever been. I normally only wear light make up but my skin looks so awful I am wearing concealer foundation and powder today in an attempt to disguise the masses of spots! :( This pregnancy is very different so far from my previous ones with DS1/2, makes me wonder whether it is a girl or even twins.

Angelico have a look at this link OC This might be what is causing your itching. I second the oats - brilliant - I use the end of a pair of tights that I'm chucking out due to ladders - fill with a cup of oats, hold under the water whilst filling the bath, squeeze it lots to make the water all milky and use the oats as a sponge to clean all the affected areas. I have found it works brilliantly for DS2's eczema, soothing it and making the skin feel all smooth and silky.

Urgh, am picking up one of DS2's friends from preschool as well as my 2 boys today, feel rubbish, just want to sleep, not entertain three rowdy boys this afternoon :(

DameFlatYouLent · 20/02/2012 13:00

good luck twolittlemonkeys, energetic vibes heading your way...

cordiality · 20/02/2012 13:20

I highly recommend going to see the ladies at Bravissimo when you're in the Uk fjordmor, they may just save your life!

FjordMor · 20/02/2012 13:34

Good tip cordiality! I have used them mail order before but think I'm going to have to go in for the full fitting this time!

Fairygodmother1 · 20/02/2012 13:36

Hi ya,

Bed rest for a week been prescibed. Have a scan on thursday as I'm actually 5+4!!!! She said as there's no red blood & no pain it's more than likely implantation bleeding!

Fingers crossed for a sticky bean!!!
