Hiya I'm 28 weeks and since becoming pregnant hardly ever feel hungry! I'm worried my baby isn't getting enough food - don't think I'm getting 2,000 calories some days let alone an extra 2-300! If my body needed more do you think I'd start getting hungry? I'm forcing myself to get meals in at the moment :( it's unlike me I'm someone who loves my food - and lots of it lol.
My BMI was normal to start with - iv put on a stone and at last appointment my measurements were all fine - so baby is growing well but i don't want him to be hungry or go without!
What have you eaten today - yep I want your food diaries so I can get a rough idea if I need to try fit more food in, or perhaps I just ate too much pre pregnancy and am normal now lol.

Thank you xxx

I've had 2 slices of toast for breakfast, jacket potato with cheese and beans for lunch, chicken curry for dinner.
Packet of chipsticks, a few digestives, an apple and half a punnet of strawberries and 4 ice poles (craving these, this is a quiet day for them!) as snacks.
I'm 26 weeks. Not been overly hungry but this is a fair bit more than I'd usually eat, especially all the carbs!

ChineapplePunk · 06/02/2012 22:52

Hi justhayley, I am 28 weeks too. Here goes! Today's food diary:

Breakfast - Bran Flakes with skimmed milk. 1 large banana. Slice of apple and hazelnut cake (I know! But it was left over from night before and I fancied something sweet :) )

Morning tea break - Bowl of sliced banana with activia yoghurt. Orange Chunky KitKat

Lunch - Falafals and coleslaw. 1 apple

Afternoon teabreak - Mars Bar

Dinner - Tuna sandwiches and two glasses of pineapple juice.

On reflection, it does look a bit piggy, and light on fruit and veg, however it does vary greatly from day to day. For example, last night I didn't have any dinner because I just wasn't hungry. :/

AllIWant85 · 06/02/2012 23:04

Breakfast: bowl of cornflakes

Morning snack: some wine gums Blush

Lunch: tuna and tomato pasta

Afternoon snack: packet of pom bears

Dinner: beef curry

Evening snack: angel delight

I'm not very hungry often. If my dh didn't cook the evening meal I probably wouldn't eat! My diet isn't great so I'm taking a multi vitamin. To be honest after the first few months of hyperemesis anything I eat seems good! Don't beat yourself up over it, the baby will take everything it needs from you, even if that leaves you without!!

Flisspaps · 06/02/2012 23:32

31+4 here...

Two pieces of white toast with flora
Kiwi fruit, handful of grapes
Two tuna mayo and sweetcorn wraps with salt and vinegar sticks
Small pack of buttons and small milkybar stolen from DSs xmas chocolate
Hot chocolate
Battered fish, mash and beans
Two bowls of cornflakes (full fat milk and sugar)

Not the healthiest day, but I have a cold so am eating whatever appeals Grin

staylucky · 07/02/2012 01:05

Everything.
Whatever I feel like.
Will pay for it after the birth am sure but meh. Am absolutely addicted to 'supper' at the minute, something have never done before, this can range from a slice of toast and tea to pretty much another dinner Blush

I don't think it's law you have to increase your intake if your not that hungry, baby will always get what baby needs.

warzonemummy · 07/02/2012 05:40

Breakfast: two hard boiled eggs (whites only) with bread and lemon, glass of Guava juice and multivitamins

Snack: Apple and banana

Lunch: Cooked red kidney beans and salad

Snack: Pomegranate and an orange

Dinner: Rice, vegetarian ravioli (few) and a fried potato snack

loads of water.

justhayley · 07/02/2012 10:13

Grin thank you ladies, this has been v helpful - not only due to the fact that I'm probably eating half of what everyone else is, and has made me think I really need to up my food intake, but reading all your menus has actually made me feel hungry and fancy food - result Grin

willowshimmer · 07/02/2012 11:00

Hi there x I am 30 weeks and yesterdays food diary...
Breakfast - bacon roll and a hot chocolate
Midmorning - 4 digestives (shared with Mums staffie after long walk) and coffee
Lunch - 2 slices dry toast with homemade tomato soup and a slice of homemade lemon cheesecake oops naughty!!
Dinner - pasta with homemade bolognese and another slice of cheesecake (I blame my son for creating yummy cheesecake!!)
1 x cadburys mini egg which my son forced into my mouth lol x

Looking at it its not got alot of fruit in it and limited veg so today I will try and eat more veggies and have some salad for lunch.

I have had terrible sickness and my diet has been quite limited but am eating more now although not big portions and I still have days of real nausea and vomiting but have put on 5lb since before Xmas and baby measuring a week ahead so I am not worried x

buonasera · 07/02/2012 13:09

Hiya, I'm 26 weeks, yesterday I ate
ham sandwich and glass of orange juice
beef stew with cabbage
bowl of rice pudding
big plate of pasta with pesto, leek and cream
2 tunnocks teacakes
a packet of crisps
banana

and then I had to get up in the night for more orange juice as hunger (and the small people kicking!) was keeping me awake.

As mine are twins, I'm sposed to be eating a bit more. Couple that with mental morning sickness in the first couple of months and I actually started losing fat for a while... I was advised to eat stuff like peanut butter that's high in calories but also nutritious. Ate a lot of toasted seeds and things like that for a while. Then when the morning sickness cleared up I started to shift a whole lot of cake into my diet...

RubyLovesMayMay · 07/02/2012 14:01

Bread, Chocolate and whatever I have for dinner that night.

Funnily enough I dont feel like eating much at all, surely the stomach capacity is reduced or something. My eyes are waaaay bigger then my stomach or maybe not now

justhayley · 07/02/2012 14:03

So far today iv had some french bread with coleslaw cucumber and tomatoes and a packet of chunky chocolate biscuits (packet = 6 biscuits) dipped in a cup of tea Blush. I was only going to have 2 but they were really good & well I am trying to up my calorie intake (more excuses for this welcome) Smile. Actually iv prob just eaten more calories in the biscuits alone than i had all day yesterday! Had my 28 week appointment today & I measured 28cm so guess I can't be doing too bad Smile

RubyLovesMayMay · 07/02/2012 14:22

Think its best if I dont count the calories Grin

Funny you mention biscuits. Me, DH and my brother were having a discussion about why you can never just eat 2 biscuits.

I think you're probably doing alright and just eat when you feel like it as long as your not going hungry I reckon you'll be okay esp if your measurements are good.

Im measuring on the smaller side (Im 29 weeks) and I eat loads of shit so its swings and roundabouts.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 07/02/2012 14:27

Another crap day for me...

Porridge with nutella for breakfast
Big cup of non decaf coffee, multi vits
White toast with jam for second breakfast (there is a wholemeal fruit loaf in the breadmaker as I speak, to try to stop me eating so much white bread...)
Tin of veg soup for lunch
Big cup of decaf coffee
Shared a digestive bar with DS (as they are DHs for work!)
Freddo bar (stolen from DSs chocolate again. I am a bad mammy!!)
Have made a toad in the hole for tea (quorn sausages for me). Was gonna do veg with it, but cba so will prob have beans
Kiwi fruit warming for me to eat later.

Have three eggs left til I go shopping. Think I might make cakes. Can't stop eating sweet stuff!

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 07/02/2012 14:28

Might make biscuits too
wonder if I can get DS asleep early?

RubyLovesMayMay · 07/02/2012 15:12

Someone at work has just handed me a plate with 5 chocolate digestives on it Smile

Impatientwino · 07/02/2012 16:58

am nearly 16 weeks - not gained any weight so far but I think this is because the increase in baby is offsetting the drop in wine calories :)

erm so yesterday...

orange juice, cheerios with milk
soft boiled egg with a runny yolk so stone me
strawberries
cup of tea & biscuit, ok maybe 2 biscuits, oh fine it was 3!
chicken & bacon salad sandwich, crisps, apple
grapes
mini babybel
tuna, kidney bean and vegetable concoction with wholewheat spaghetti with a block of grated cheese on top
frozen strawberry yoghurt

hmm, not too bad looking back at that but thank god you hadn't asked for the day before :)

I do have at least half the week where I need to have a second breakfast at work!

am super hungry having read everyones food now!!!

is it tea time yet?

Alligatorpie · 07/02/2012 18:35

Everything!
Breakfast - coffee with milk ( sometimes decaf today full caf)
Cold cereal, skimmed milk and banana or strawberries
Snack - Greek yogurt with honey, granola bar ( really like a chocolate bar)
Lunch- Boied egg sandwich on multigrain ( with ketchup), cup o soup, apple, trail mix ( almonds, dried apricots, sunflower seeds)
Snack - crisps, pomegranate juice
Dinner - salad, calamari, pasta in tomato sauce, 2 satsumas

I am 21 weeks and have struggled to eat enough veg from the beginning, normally I eat lots of veg, protein and very little carbs....I can't get enough carbs now! I too will pay for this later!

Dozeyland · 07/02/2012 19:49

25+2

Porridge with banana
De-caf tea
Scrambled egg on toast
Peppermint tea
3 custard creams
tomato soup & toast
Cadburys yoghurt
now scoffing chocolate :s ! (craving chocolate at the mo)

I dont really have a big appetite some days... and i tend to snack on the wrong things :( before pregnancy I was eating well and lots of greens.

I wish i would be more of a fruit & salad girl, but my body just craves crap at the mo :( :(

good post BTW

Nellabutterfly · 07/02/2012 20:10

Big bowl of Coco Pops with milk
Lunch - 2 white bread rolls, one with wafer thin ham, one with chicken
Packet of crisps (Walkers baked so a bit low fat!)
Muller Light, lemon cheesecake flavour
Galaxy Ripple
Half a chocolate orange to satiate afternoon chocolate cravings (courtesy of DH - I love that we work in the same office!)
Dinner - pork chop, broccolli, mountain of mash
Handful of Kit Kat cube thingies
3 chunky choc chip cookies so far Grin

Hmm, really not very much fruit or veg there at all! Blush Must remember to buy some more apples. ATM I'm just eating what I fancy, not worrying about weight, hoping it'll melt off with bf although it probably won't

bonbonpixie · 07/02/2012 20:42

Big bowl of porridge with blueberries and cream for breakfast
Two glasses of orange juice
Homemade thai green chilli and spinach soup with a massive doorstop of seeded bread (and about half a block of butter....)
Melon salad with grapes for snack
Biggest pizza ever from Pizza Express
Three scoops of sherbet

Finding it really hard to eat enough green stuff, have to turn it all into soups as I just can't seem to choke it down otherwise!
Can easily eat my 5 a day in fruit, but it occurred to me that maybe this isn't the best method because of all the sugar. Getting close to my 28 week appointment and a bit worried about GD.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 07/02/2012 20:50

Posting on this thread is reminding me to eat better! If you don't mind OP, I may post every day for the next ten weeks Grin
eating grapes and kiwi fruit now. also had macaroni pudding that wasnt on my list earlier
