Hi All

I found out yesterday that I am pregnant with identical twins :)

I am 6 weeks so still very early but 2 yolk sacs within one sac both with good heartbeats,

Obviously the worst thing to do but I have been googling twin pregnancies and the reading is not pretty. :( I'm now worried about vanishing twin, and also have read its not great they in the same sac, although the sonographer did say it was good they each had their own placenta???

I would be really grateful to hear any positive stories you may have, because I have been left feeling there is no hope :(

I was 19 + 6 when diagnosed with TTTS and referred to birmingham hosp where I had an appointment the next day - which was when we found out they were girls. Sounds very morbid, but we had convinced ourselves we would lose them and said that we wanted to know what they were so we could give them names. It was terrifying at the time but seems like yonks ago now.

If you're referred to Birmingham hosp for any reason (which I sincerely hope you're not!) then they are amazing and you can rest assured that you'll be in fantastic hands.

Despite all the complications of my pregnancy I absolutely loved it!!! I would TTC again tomorrow but want to enjoy lots of time with my girlies first! Twin pregnancies and twins in general attract a LOT of attention as they're so special - I still love it when people coo over my girls in the street/shops/supermarket! Grin

mrsstevo thank you for coming on and sharing your most special story, not morbid at all about finding out what your babies were at 20 weeks nearly you are bound to have built up a bond, I've seen a thread that you wrote at the time and it must have been so difficult but so reassuring that the hospital i would need to use is the same one that saved your beautiful girls, and so lovely that the whole experience hasn't put you off, enjoy your time with your daughters im sure they feel like miracles to you off:)
i had my second appointment and scan with the consultant yesterday she was very pleased with everything they were both growing nicely and waving at us moving lots, its so difficult because im trying not to get too attached but its so hard because its amazing there are 2 in there, im still spotting on and off and could kick myself because i get carried away with the whole scan and don't push to find out what's happening, im still terrified about vanishing twin and that I'll miscarry, im 12+3 now so have told people and everyone is very excited for me which is lovely but i can get too attached :(.

thank you for your story i wish you and your girls all the happiness in the world Grin
