'It'll be different when it's your own'...&...'it'll all be worth it', i swear I am going to either vomit on them or punch them :)

If I hear "it's gonna hurt" or "are you sure yo're big enough for a normal labour" one more time then I may dish out a similar response Smile

deemented · 11/12/2011 12:02

And if i hear 'Haven't you got a TV?' once more i may make the asker wear our bloody TV.

Mum2be79 · 11/12/2011 12:03

Your life will never be the same again.

Sleep? A thing of the distant past.

In my day ...

Oh, we never did that!

You don't want to ...

Angry
deemented · 11/12/2011 12:06

Not forgetting the

'Oh, you'll have your hands full, won't you?'

and

'Is the the last then?'

And this old chestnut

'Are you sure you'll cope?'

KarenMillenCoat · 11/12/2011 12:08

I had all these too! The hilarious thing is that we bumped into friends of ours yesterday who are expecting any day now and when they left DH turned to me and said something along the lines of "they haven't got a clue what they're getting themselves into, have they?" at which I burst into laughter, remembering the stupid comments people had made to me when I was pregnant, obviously thinking the same thing about us! Babies are hard work, someone alert the newspapers!

TrickyBiscuits · 11/12/2011 12:15

"Make the most of your sleep now hahahahaha"

That one really ignites my pregnancy anger [fanger]

TrickyBiscuits · 11/12/2011 12:15

or Xmas Angry perhaps!

Eggrules · 11/12/2011 12:23

Sleep now whilst you can Xmas Confusederm, no such thing as a sleep bank.

Mix with late pregnancy lack of sleep due to back pain, heartburn and morning sickness = 'and I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger'

pixie04 · 11/12/2011 12:43

I hate the "enjoy your sleep while you can" comments. I've probably not had a full nights sleep since I got pregnant and you're right you cannot bank sleep!

I'm sure some people just have to say something!

Enfyshedd · 11/12/2011 14:09

I've been having problems sleeping for the past few weeks, and have had to put up with the "It's your body getting you ready for when the baby comes" - I was even less impressed when it was said by a student nurse at the doctors last week when had a swollen throat and had been awake all night because I kept choking & being sick everytime I tried to go to sleep. In my best I-haven't-slept-and-feel-really-really-ill voice, I replied "I'm getting really fed up of hearing that line now, while the proper nurse made me an appointment to see the doc that afternoon for the sleeping problems.

I'm only 16 weeks today!!! At least I've had a few better nights since then.

thejaffacakesareonme · 11/12/2011 15:05

I have 2 gorgeous DSs. People keep on saying to me that I'll be hoping for a girl this time. If I hear it one more time I'll scream.

  • What are you going to do about the cats Xmas Shock

  • (re: the birth) Oh, you'll have to leave your dignity at the door

  • You've got ages to go yet, with a bump that small (am 39/3)

  • You look much bigger when you take your coat off (erm, yes, as now you can seeeeeee)

horseynewmum · 11/12/2011 15:15

The one thats doing my head in cause i've had hypesemis is 'well I never was THAT ill when I was pregnant.' Oh bully them aren't they lucky cause I'm really enjoying the toilet hugging. NOT

Sorry for rant but that one has really got to me. I would love to swap and have what is classed as a healthy pregnancy.

tentative123 · 11/12/2011 16:15

How about 'ooh that's a huge bump are you sure its not twins??' 'do you think it will stay in until march?'

Do you mind if I plunge a sharp knife into you????

lalabaloo · 11/12/2011 17:13

"You're getting big now aren't you?!" Well yes, there is a baby growing inside me after all...

"If you go on mat leave earlier you won't get as much time off with the baby..." No, but I might feel better not having to travel 3 hours a day

"You don't know what you're letting yourself in for" Well I don't have children yet, but i'm as prepared as I possibly can be and you didn't have a clue before you had kids either remember?

feekerry · 11/12/2011 20:11

"your bump is huge- are you sure its not twins?"

  • erm, yes i am sure its not twins. unless they've missed it on all scans to date. unlikely.

"ooh your massive, she'll be early/huge"

  • erm fuck off
poorbuthappy · 11/12/2011 20:13

Ooo you are huge are you sure it's not twins??!

Well yes actually it is! How clever are you?? Are you a doctor?? No? Well fuck off then. Grin

minimuffy · 11/12/2011 21:18

-have you tried a ginger biscuit?

hmmmmmmm at 40+3 and been sick every single day since 6w, i have not come acrross one single person that has suggested this........NOT!!!!!!!!

justabigdisco · 11/12/2011 21:20

yeah I've had 'ooh your life is going to change'
er, really??

belindarose · 11/12/2011 21:28

Oh the fucking ginger fucking biscuits...!

QueenCee · 11/12/2011 21:41

I particuarly enjoy "you're pregnant, not ill" usually from men. Ummm true... To a point. But at 30+3 I have pretty painful SPD and can barely move at times without being in agony. To top that off, I'm woken at night with awful leg cramps. As well as the usual pg tiredness, I also have a 13 month old DD, oh and frequent trips/overnight hospital stays for recurrent bleeding, so forgive me if I do occasionally moan, as I do, quite frankly, feel pretty ill most of the time!!! Rant over!

keely027 · 11/12/2011 21:48

oh those fricking ginger biscuits. if i want to puke the last thing i want is a sweet ginger biscuit!!!!!!

OP posts:
horseynewmum · 11/12/2011 21:53

Oh the ginger biscuits. They going to haunt me. Oh the thought of them making me feel sick.

SantaSHO · 12/12/2011 03:57

Oh you are you still using the crutches?

What else could these large mental sticks be you idiot ?!
