Title says it all.

So uncomfortable and impatient now but bloody everyone tells me I WILL be late. Seriously I know they don't mean any harm but I wish they would just not say anything.

IABU I know...

MrsCampbellBlack · 02/12/2011 20:11

Well they're not.

My midwife said she was sure I would be early and I was.

Beamur · 02/12/2011 20:11

You're right, it's not always true. Some come early...
When are you due?

clamato · 02/12/2011 20:11

well, they're all bloody wrong for a start

Lynli · 02/12/2011 20:13

My first was 7 weeks early.

TeacupTempest · 02/12/2011 20:14

Due by scan dating on the 13th but if I go by last period its the 6th so who knows...soonish I hope!

I just want to prove them all wrong now (obviously only if little one is fully cooked)!

I am walking miles each day with the dog so gravity should be taking effect!

Not true, mine was born 3 and a half weeks early :)

CroissantNeuf · 02/12/2011 20:20

Everyone told me this and, like a fool, I believed them (this was in the days before I knew many people with babies or knew about MN) .

I finished work 3 weeks before my due date and thought I had about 3-4 weeks to do my Xmas shopping etc but my waters broke the day after I finished work and DD was born a couple of days later.

TeacupTempest · 02/12/2011 20:22

I am finding this thread very reassuring. THank you all :)

Even if I am late in the end I just wish everyone would stop going on about it! It doesn't help!

I was 15 days late with my DD (first baby)...tried EVERY old wives tale in the book, nothing doing til EMCS.

My friend had her DD (first baby) the day before me, 7 weeks early! We're all individuals, as are our babies, they'll come when they're good and ready (or in my case when they're yanked out!)

YANBU - its so fricking frustrating towards the end! Good luck :)

QueenOfFlamingEverything · 02/12/2011 20:24

its bollocks Grin

my first was bang on time

MrsKwaziipanFruits · 02/12/2011 20:25

Load of old cobblers. My first was three weeks early. I was packing my hospital bag between contractions Xmas Grin. Hope you're more comfortable soon, cuddling your gorgeous baby

QueenOfFlamingEverything · 02/12/2011 20:25

don't ask me about my second, though...

lljkk · 02/12/2011 20:25

I was convinced, utterly cast iron 100%, that all first babies were nearly 2 weeks late.
DC1 duly arrived one week EARLY.
I presume your bags are all packed? :)

TeacupTempest · 02/12/2011 20:26

I should start taking bets, earn some cash while I wait!

Ah as long as baby arrives in the end I will get over it I am sure ;)

Combinearvester · 02/12/2011 20:27

Oh yes people talk such bollocks about it. I'm sure most babies come within a week either side of the due date anyway. FWIW my first was 5/6 weeks early and I know loads of people who were 38/39 weeks (imho the ideal time to go into labour Grin )

TeacupTempest · 02/12/2011 20:28

Bags have been pack a while!!

Ponyclubmum · 02/12/2011 20:29

Mil kept telling me that all first babies are late, and not to worry that she hadn't finished decorating the nursery for us yet - there's plenty of time. Needless to say, DS was born bang on time, and the nursery never did get finished. Hmm

Cutelittlecatlover · 02/12/2011 20:29

My midwife told me at my 40 week appointment that it would be at least another week and booked me in for a sweep the following week. Ds arrived about 10 hours later after a freakishly fast labour!

OnlyWantsOne · 02/12/2011 20:30

Went into labour on my due date with both 1st and 2nd

Good luck op. enjoy the calm before the storm

ilovesprouts · 02/12/2011 20:30

my dc3 was 2 weeks late so its rubbish

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 02/12/2011 20:30

Both mine were born 38 + 5, though one labour was 37 hours and one was 5 hours, like how they both made it to the same day though Smile

IvyAndGold · 02/12/2011 20:32

Three weeks early here! It's all a load of balls, don't worry yourself about it Grin
