Title says it all.

So uncomfortable and impatient now but bloody everyone tells me I WILL be late. Seriously I know they don't mean any harm but I wish they would just not say anything.

IABU I know...

DS was three days early, the little scamp. There was I, growling about being sick of being a huge dugong monster woman, and he obliged by coming sooner than predicted. Obedient child.

jenrendo · 02/12/2011 20:33

I finished work the week before my due date and had hair appointments, vet's appointments etc all organised for that week. None of them happened when DS was 5 days early. Just nod and smile :)

Flisspaps · 02/12/2011 20:34

Oh, if it helps I am the only one in my group of friends who went over, all the others had their forst early or on time.

Beamur · 02/12/2011 20:40

However, with my own I was nearly 2 weeks late Grin

spiderlight · 02/12/2011 20:40

Mine was over two weeks early, after everyone saying I'd be late. Less than 48 hours before he arrived, I had 'Oooh, you're carrying really high - you'll be ages yet...'

samwellsbutt · 02/12/2011 20:46

my first was bang on her due date.

hiccymapops · 02/12/2011 20:51

My first was a week early, or on time depending how you look at it. I was the same as you, my date was a week earlier than my scan date.

Dc2 and 3 were another matter, and everyone told me they'd be early! Liars Grin

Hope all goes well.

ZhenTheHallsWithBoughsOfHolly · 02/12/2011 21:01

My first was early by 5 days and came after a 6 mile walk. I am hoping number two makes it either on due date or is much later otherwise she will only have a birthday every 4 years!

harassedandherbug · 02/12/2011 21:04

Spot on with dc1 & 2, so it's rubbish!

Dc3 (my one and only dd) was 10 days late, and ds3 is due 22nd Dec and will hopefully be a little early.

kiki22 · 02/12/2011 21:43

i was a first baby 3 weeks early DP was a first baby 2 weeks early my niece was a first baby 4 days early... ignore them babys come when they come

notcitrus · 02/12/2011 22:01

Everyone told me first babies are either two weeks early or two weeks late.
I was therefore shocked when after reaching a week before due date sans baby, I went into labour and had ds the day before my due date...

I'm an only child born at 27+6!

brighthair · 03/12/2011 02:43

I am an only child, was born at 34 weeks!

Velvetcu · 03/12/2011 03:15

I had my first 6 weeks ago, 1 week early. My friend had hers on weds 1 week early. My niece was 4 weeks early so yes it's a load of rubbish!

sleepatlast · 03/12/2011 04:09

38 +6. I was at work until day before labour started though:...wouldn't recommend that!

Alligatorpie · 03/12/2011 05:19

I know loads of people who have had early first babies, me included. Whoever told you this is talking crap.

Koop · 03/12/2011 10:42

My first is due on 20th Dec. I'm also fed up of hearing "Oh, it's going to be a Christmas day baby!" and "You're still small, it might be a New Year baby!" Nyarrgh.

As long as baby comes out safely, I don't really mind, but I would really appreciate being on-time. Please.

My DS arrived midday on his due date, can't really get more 'on time' than that.

I was so convicned that he would arrive late, being my first, that it took me a couple of hours to realise I didn't have a tummy bug and I was actually having contractions.

Graciescotland · 03/12/2011 11:05

Everyone told me that too and that labour would take ages Hmm I was a bit surprised at 39w +1 with my five and a half hour labour!

MammaBrussels · 03/12/2011 11:12

NO it's rubbish - DS arrived on his due date. They only give an estimated due date so how can a baby be late?

tvfriend · 03/12/2011 11:14

DD 4 weeks early so agree with those who say PACK THOSE BAGS Grin

Dee03 · 03/12/2011 11:34

My first ds was 7 days early Smile
