I am getting a bit freaked out now, we were told at our 22 weeks scan that we were having a girl but all along i have thought we are having a boy & still do, on the other hand dp thinks it is defo a girl.

I have painted the room pink & brought many many girls clothes i know i should not have done but could not resist........

So how many of you have been told one & then found it was the other?

I was told she was 85% sure it was a girl is this high?? oh please say yes.

Well, a willy, if seen, gives a fairly clear indication. But you have had a scan where they couldn't see a willy - there may not be one, or they may just not have seen it!

Sorry, that's not very helpful is it? We didn't ask, so can't add my experience but fwiw I don't know anyone who was told the wrong sex. Hope you get what you want!!!

blondie82 · 31/12/2005 20:49

when i got told i was having a girl, they never told me for definite. she just said "i think its a girl" but like you i was positive i was having a boy. went out and bought loads of baby girl clothes. but thankfully when i gave birth they was right. i couldnt see any boy bits but still it didnt stop me thinking they got it wrong!!

Mum2OneAndBump · 31/12/2005 20:50

I know what you mean because she said Ds was defo a boy she had no doubt.

I really don't mind what sex it is, i would love another boy so either way i would be over the moon, it's just you kind of sike yourself up for having the sex you are told, sometimes i wish we never found out by dp really wanted to

Oh blondie now thats a great story to hear thanks for telling me, making me feel a tad better, if it is a boy then ebay here i come & out goes the pink & in with the blue

bobbybobbobbingalong · 31/12/2005 20:53

Nah just use the pink ones they baby will never know.

Mum2OneAndBump · 31/12/2005 20:56

Well with the moses basket & chair i have kept boxes & receipts so can swap them, paint is easy to recover boring but easy, its just the clothes really but material is nothing as long as i can sell them i will be more than happy, i feel quite excited at the thought there is still that little chance it could be a boy.

blondie82 · 31/12/2005 20:59

well i made sure i kept the tags on everything and kept the receipts somewhere safe too. when you watch people having baby scans on the tv, they always point things out and most of the time you can always see boy bits!! my dd was in the wrong place and couldnt see between her legs properly and i had to put my hips in the air and jiggle them around abit to make her move. thats when she said "she thinks....."

LadyTophamHatt · 31/12/2005 21:00

believe me, there is no mistake when they say it's a boy!
I could even tell at my 12 week scan with ds3!

Mum2OneAndBump · 31/12/2005 21:04

Hmm other thing is that when i went to my 22 week scan i asked if i could find out the sex she said yes, Anyway after she had showed me baby was growing ok etc etc, she turned the screen off, so i said oh can i still find out the sex & thats when she turned around & said yes i think its a girl 85% sure so she never showed me the bits or explained anything to me.

Only thing i feel is this pregnancy has been very diferent with ds i was very well from start to finish i was also very cross & angry & would attack dp

This time i am extremley emotional more relaxed & i was terribly terribly ill between week 5-7 i thought i was going to die !

But i have also heard every pregnancy can be different so......

Oh the mind boggles!

They were 99% sure that dd was a girl, and have said the same for the current bun in the oven, so we'll see eh! mind you they got my sil's neighbour wrong, said girl and it was a boy Still for all the pink stuff, people were still saying isn't he nice to dd even when she was a year old, grrrrrrrrr at those old biddies!

blondie82 · 31/12/2005 21:07

i had really bad morning sickness, and my friend said that usually means its a girl. but you do hear lots of different stories

starlover · 31/12/2005 21:07

i had terrible morning sickness and had a boy

my mum was hospitalised because of morning sickness with my brother.

Mum2OneAndBump · 31/12/2005 21:10

Starlover go away lol

Funny thing is i have a boys name & still have not got a girls name..........

OP posts:
starlover · 31/12/2005 21:12

i heard that it's more likely for them to get it wrong saying it;'s a girl and it being a boy than the other way round iyswim?

but i reckon 85% is quite high... not sure if i'd have risked buying pink though! lol

blondie82 · 31/12/2005 21:12

i get asked whether dd is a boy or girl by old people, i always feel like saying its so obvious. shes dressed in pink, has a pink blanket. i suppose i could say its a very feminine boy!

Mum2OneAndBump · 31/12/2005 21:15

Oh well not long to go & we will find out.

I know i am mad buying pink i just could not resist & i am a very organised person so i have to have evrything just how i want it, i new that if i brought neutral colours i would not use them once baby was here as i just want pink.

They new for sure ds was a boy she said he was a lucky boy! lol

blondie82 · 31/12/2005 21:17

i wouldnt worry, they're mre likely to get it right. how could you not miss the boy bits?!!

Mum2OneAndBump · 31/12/2005 21:18

Well i can only think that maybe some babies are more developed in that area & also i think it depends on how far pg you are?

OP posts:
blondie82 · 31/12/2005 21:20

i would've thought they would've seen something there at 22 weeks if it was a boy....

starlover · 31/12/2005 21:20

i think it depends on the angle they get... you don't always see it "dangling" iyswim?

it can appear as the testicles and a line down... which can then be mistaken for labia.

i think

blondie82 · 31/12/2005 21:21

never thought of that......

TambaTheDragonSlayersDayOff · 31/12/2005 21:22

Me! I was told on my 20 week scan I was having a girl... I had a boy!!!

Now, What to do with all those pink babygrows....

Mum2OneAndBump · 31/12/2005 21:23

nor did i but i can not seem to think of anything at the mo.......

My mind goes blank

I think you are right starlover.
