MEGA pains in back. No idea if I'm in labour.

Had some bleeding and some bloody mucus the past few days and now I am having fucking mega pains in my back. About half way up and down to the bottom.

(TMI ALERT) Also had a very, very upset tummy earlier today.

I have no idea if I am in labour or not and apologies if this OP is all over the place as I really can't think straight I'm in that much pain and this is even through Tramadol!

Someone help, please!

Two days before DD2 was born I couldn't remember what all the fuss was about epidurals the first time, it couldn't have been that bad if DD2 was arriving 20months after DD1!

SchrodingersMew · 20/09/2011 22:01

Thisisyesterday Just the pregnancy part is putting me off doing it ever again! You're crazy! :o

Pample I bet you remembered though. Wink

Good luck Schrodingers, I know you've had a challenging pregnancy at times and think you sound like you're doing fab!

SchrodingersMew · 20/09/2011 22:05

Rolling I remember you from my other threads. Thanks. :)

I am off to bed - Schrodinger - fingers crossed things move along well and you get the birth you want, hopefully you will have your new son in your arms by the time I get back to the thread in the morning.

SchrodingersMew · 20/09/2011 22:13

Pample Night. :) Think I might head to bed too, think I might need rest tonight!

Luckily if anything happens I have the internet on my phone! :o

This is so exciting! Am pg with my first and have no idea what labour will feel like so it's also highly educational Smile

SchrodingersMew · 20/09/2011 22:20

Stripey This is my first too. I normally go on the labour threads for educational purposes as well so this is strange for me!

Grin well good luck! So exciting, I want to be in your shoes right now, about to meet the little boy who's been snuggling inside you for nine long months!

Hope you get some rest and things go quickly and smoothly tomorrow x

ZhenXiang · 20/09/2011 22:38

Very exciting :)

Good idea to get some sleep/rest while you can Shrodinger.

Also eat now as later down the line you may only be able to suck ice lollies or sip isotonic drinks and you will be really hungry afterwards especially if you have to wait ages at the hospital for food (take snacks for afterwards, get DH to make something for him too from now).

When I was in labour I found crawling around on all fours and marching holding onto something helped.

You could put a few drops of clary sage in a base oil (Almond, Olive even vegetable oil would do) and get DH to give you a back massage if still painful might help as has mild analgesic and sedative properties. If you start on gas and air cease clary sage inhalation as the combination might be too much.

Lavender oil in the bath also good if you have some. Jasmine, bergamot, chamomile, frankincense, mandarin, neroli, rose and ylang ylang are also good for labour.

Warm flannels on the back might be soothing too or a hot water bottle well wrapped against your back.

SchrodingersMew · 20/09/2011 22:46

Stripey How far along are you?

Zhen Going to go get some food and sleep now. :)

And I have clary sage and almond oil but none of the others but it makes DP actually be sick so no chance there. :( Will definitely continue to get back rubs though. :)

I have a flannel on my back too. :) It has some clary sage on as well.

Going to bed but good luck through the night. Try and get rest and eat something. You're going to need all your energy for ... the rest of your life!!! (with a baby not just the labour) Smile

wideawakenurse · 21/09/2011 05:16

thisisyesterday · 21/09/2011 19:01

i spose if she was in hospital she might not be home yet.

you'd have thought she'd have found time to do a quick update on her phone though wouldn't you?

"baby crowning, not long now!"

and

"can't sleep, ward too hot and lady in the next bed snoring"
