MEGA pains in back. No idea if I'm in labour.

Had some bleeding and some bloody mucus the past few days and now I am having fucking mega pains in my back. About half way up and down to the bottom.

(TMI ALERT) Also had a very, very upset tummy earlier today.

I have no idea if I am in labour or not and apologies if this OP is all over the place as I really can't think straight I'm in that much pain and this is even through Tramadol!

Someone help, please!

Good luck!! Xx

I have chocolate too and currently sniffing clary sage on a flannel. :o

Scared to have a bath incase it slows things down.

Thanks. :o

Wouldn't say it was lovely though with all the cervix reaching and bloody show talk! Wink

I think you may well be on your way to having this baby early tomorrow morning so a bath won't do much if it is real labour. Can you lean over your ball and DH can massage the small of you back? It was the only thing that stopped me hitting DH repeatedly for causing me pain by getting me pregnant!

SchrodingersMew · 20/09/2011 21:33

He's been sitting behind me while I lean forward cross legged rubbing my back. One thing he's been lovely for!

And earlier while mid contraction and before the tramadol I told my Gran I was going to cut his willy off for causing me all this pain! :o

Perhaps some sex would speed it up... Sure I could manage it after a glass of wine.

Plus it's meant to be a good painkiller isn't it? Hmm

Orgasm is good for encouraging contractions :) If he loves you he will Wink

SchrodingersMew · 20/09/2011 21:37

Haha, if I say that to him he'll tell me he feels used and he'll feel pressured and the equiptment ermm wont play along! (trust me I've tried it)

I'll just have to sweet talk him. :)

Oooh it's a 'he' does he have a name?

deemented · 20/09/2011 21:40

Ohhh... good luck!!

My dd was back to back, and when she came out face up, the midwife said 'Ohhh a stargazer baby' - strange what stays with you!

Hope it's not too long for you us now Smile

Dozeyland · 20/09/2011 21:41

I am so excited for you! I will keep watching this post!!

SchrodingersMew · 20/09/2011 21:43

Pample Eirik. :)

Deemented That is quite strange! What an odd thing to say and for you to remember!. :o

deemented · 20/09/2011 21:45

I think she meant it was because she was born looking up at the stars, iyswim?

YougreatPamplemousse · 20/09/2011 21:45

Are you Norwegian then? I only know Norweigian Eiriks :)

How's the wine?

fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 20/09/2011 21:47

My dd was called a stargazer too :) I felt hard as nails once it was explained to me how tough that can be!

pettyprudence · 20/09/2011 21:47

My DS was back to back at the start of labour too - it confused me so I didn't think I was in labour because I didn't feel any contractions/tightenings across my bump. Have a bath, tis loooooovely :)

Good luck, DS turned at some point, about 2 hours before he arrived and I didn't even have to push in the end. MW was Shock that I hadn't had any pain relief and back to back (erm I didn't know and only had paracetamol in the house). Will they not take you in sooner (if you want) if your having a back to back labour? I don't think they can actually turn you away if you just turn up and sit on the floor refusing to move

faverolles · 20/09/2011 21:50

Good luck :)

SchrodingersMew · 20/09/2011 21:52

Deemented Ahhh I get it. :) (Sorry bit slow tonight!)

Pample No I'm not but there's a huge story that goes behind the name. Bit long to explain but there's reason for it. :)

Fuckity My Gran was telling me about her back to back labour today... She did say it was more painful!

Petty That's exactly how I have been. I haven't felt any tightenings in bump and only now the occasional pain. This isn't what I expected labour to feel like, I thought it would be agonising tummy pains!

They can't turn me away but I hate hospitals and don't really want to be in for longer than I need to IYSWIM? I'm much comfier here and as soon as I feel it's time I will go. :)

You know, I've only ever known back labours. I found my second a breeze. It's not a given that it's going to be more painful. Either wa, I think this time tomorrow you'll be all snuggled up And OP births can't be that bad- I'm pregnant with my third and am fully expecting this one to be the same. Just remember, you are a warrior Wink

YougreatPamplemousse · 20/09/2011 21:56

If you are happy at home you will be more relaxed and things will happen quicker than if you go into hospital and the fear slows things down - when you feel the need, and you will know when that it, then head in. Don't stress about it now, just go with your body.

SchrodingersMew · 20/09/2011 21:56

Fuckity I am convinced women really do forget all the pain! They must surely. :)

Either that or it is simply just worth it!
