Baking Powder Gender Test! Just for fun!

Someone mentioned this test on another forum I'm on, so I googled it and came across these results from other women. I know it's just an old wives tale and it depends on the acidity of you urine at that time, but 86% say the test predicted correctly!

here

I'm ashamed to say I tried it earlier today and got alot of fizzling, but I'll be finding out the sex (hopefully) in about a week.

Would anyone else who already knows the gender (or even not) be willing to take the test?

I just did the Madame Zaristka one...

The day you deliver, outside will be hot. Your baby will arrive in the middle of the night. After a labor lasting approximately 14 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 12 pounds, 10 ounces, and will be 18-1/2 inches long. This child will have dark gray eyes and barely there blonde hair.

I'll do the Baking Soda one as soon as I get some! 8 weeks to go!!

FoxyRoxy · 05/03/2012 22:04

Sarry we're having the same baby, that's exactly what mine said!

Predicts girl for me, 15 weeks to wait to see if it's right.

Alligatorpie · 07/03/2012 04:07

I did it at 12 weeks and it said girl. Then I did it at 24 weeks and there was some fizz, so I guess that means boy. But I also had a UTI so I am not sure if that makes a difference. I did the wedding ring test a few days ago and it said girl too. I guess I will have to wait and see.

SarryB · 07/03/2012 10:44

FoxyRoxy - that's weird, we shall have to compare once they arrive!

iloveberries · 07/03/2012 17:23

Just peed in a cup and fizzy is an understatement!! Hopefully that means a lovely healthy bouncing little boy! (btw I'm hopeful in relation to the healthy bit, couldn't give a monkeys what the sex is!)

PoppyS34wantsgoatscheese · 07/03/2012 22:08

I've just tried this and there's a definite fizz, we're hoping to find out next week what flavour we're having so I'll post back and see if it's right :o

Ponyclubmum · 07/03/2012 22:40

I saw this thread and had to give it a go! I tried with baking powder first and got no fizz. Then I saw the post about using bicarb, so I managed to squeeze out a bit more wee - still no fizz. So girl then?

I'm 14 weeks. We haven't decided yet if we'll find out the sex at the 20 week scan but if we do I'll report back. If we don't I'll let you know in September if anyone is still interested by then!

TeaandCake · 08/03/2012 22:11

Did this test today in the name of research with bicarbonate of soda, no fizzle at all.

Am def carrying a girl, confirmed at 20 weeks by amnio.

40+0 today so we'll see quite soon!

Im not sure if im pregnant but tried it anyway and it frothed like beer would. Does this mean im pregnant with a girl or is it just wishful thinking x
