Baking Powder Gender Test! Just for fun!

Someone mentioned this test on another forum I'm on, so I googled it and came across these results from other women. I know it's just an old wives tale and it depends on the acidity of you urine at that time, but 86% say the test predicted correctly!

here

I'm ashamed to say I tried it earlier today and got alot of fizzling, but I'll be finding out the sex (hopefully) in about a week.

Would anyone else who already knows the gender (or even not) be willing to take the test?

Can baking powder go out of date? Dried foodstuffs are generally fine for millennia, arent they? Grin

Milkyway I forgot the bloody BS again!
Will someone just send me some please!

I never thought baking powder could go out of date. I'm still using mine and it's been in the cupboard for about 2 years at least!

Ivor!!!!! Well, you're definitely pregnant I'll give you that! What with the forgetfulness! I've been out twice in the past 2 days meaning to get some porridge and I come back with a million other things but the bloody quaker oats!

I just did the Chinese gender predictor and it said girl - so it's wrong for me! It was wrong the first time too, apparantly DD was supposed to be a boy. Maybe it works in opposites for me?

I also find this gender predictor funny:

So according to this thread, the BS is actually pretty accurate?!
Must do!
Baby had legs crossed in scan but dying to know :(
I want to know whether I can get rid of the bags of dd's baby clothes which take up half the house or not!

Oh, yes! We got rid off DD's old clothes the day after the scan! I had gathered about 2 black bin bags full. I've put all her good quality clothes up in the attic for storage! Finding out the gender definitely helps make nesting easier!

I got foam like GroovyRach - like the head on a pint of Guinness.

Have no idea what we are having though and won't be finding out until the birth in October.

Had to try this as soon as I saw the thread. Mine was frothy but didn't fizz at all...as we already have a DS i have decided from this that this one is def going to be a DD!!! Grin Due in another 9 wks so we will find then if accurate or not!!!

So I tried this with baking powder and it frothed right up. We'd been told girl and consequently have a lot of pink stuff washed. However on googling it seems baking powder is NOT baking soda, bicarb is baking soda. So did it with that (also out of date-must do some cupboard clearing) and it foamed a v small bit then settled. The upshot of it is, I'm not sure. BUT I have a scan next thurs to check placenta so will ask them to view!!

I did this test (I'm almost 17 weeks) and it didn't fizz so girl, Chinese conception chart also says girl but I'm convinced its a boy, its my first baby, it will be interesting to see!

Report
PamBeesly · 15/09/2011 14:23

MrsHuxtable the sonographer can get it wrong you know and more so if they say girl! I can't wait to find out but not for another month, thats if bubs decides to co-operate Grin

PamBeesly · 15/09/2011 14:24

addicted Bicarb of soda is the same as baking soda, which is also sometimes called bread soda
