PinkFondantFancy · 06/09/2011 15:16

The box of jaffa cakes, rather than the box itself IYSWIM........ I'm not that desperate to eat the box too! Grin

hairylights · 06/09/2011 15:21

Thanks pinky I can't nap at work but I can do short days if I need to :)

CollieandPup · 06/09/2011 16:01

Pmsl at the thought of pink eating cardboard box!!!

Hairy that's exactly my day too! At home sleeping!! I think I had a good couple of weeks where I though I might actually be blooming... Maybe 22/25wks ish, but that lasted literally a fortnight! 29wks and I'm beat! Can't decide if I'm reassured by pinks post in knowing I'm not the only one, or totally depressed as I'm not on mat leave until 37wks!!! Sad

boodleboot · 06/09/2011 16:03

crikey. i cannot believe that this thread goes on and on....i love it!!! i started the original grads way back in 2009, then fell off it due to ectopic...then got back on it and Alice was born 10/9/10!!

hi to everyone - so many more babies - how utterly charming....thrilled for you all whatever stage you are at!!!

why am i back you might be wondering? well....have just had positive preg test 5 days shy of the bear's (Alicebear) first birthday.....this was a complete and utter accident.....i am in a state of shock. DH is unaware as yet as i am literally 2 days late and without a real thought that i might actually BE Pg, just still a bit of a POAS-aholic i guess.... I am in deep doodoo people

.....we moved in with our three childers to my parents big house in feb to save up deposit for a mortgage as we have been renting and it was impossible to save.....we have cleared debts this year (and had a nice wedding blessing...)but have no real saving yet at saving begins in earnest NOW. DH is 42 - i am 33....he has totally vetoed anymore children as says he is too old now, the journey to getting alice was hideous (mc then emergency ectopic), i was hideous pregnant as anxious and grouchy whole time oh and the other thing is my mum made one of the proviso's of us moving in that we DO NOT have another child here...

Careerwise i only went back to work in may, they will be hugely unimpressed that i am pg again so soon....also i am being mentored for progression within my workplace which we were counting on to get higher salary for bigger mortgage.....ohhhhhh gooooodddddddd..........deep doodoo people - can you see it now??!!

so DH will think i have done on purpose as i wanted another and he didn't and mum will possibly ask us all to move out.....Shock

i kid you not we did it ONCE this month and it was on a day i would not have said was viable....no ewcm AT ALL.....bit lotiony at a push but i truly thought was safe.....and i only have one frickin tube??!!???!! A miracle really.....of course now i am terrified to tell DH...ok not terrified as he reaaly a lovely lovely man but certainly dreading hugely......and then lets get serious here i am terrified that this little bean who must surely be a gift from god being conceived like that (!) is planted in the wrong place again.....or that it is a cruel joke and just a CP or that i will lose the baby.....aaarrrghhhh. i desperately want to be excited.....a new baby - what ould be better than that???

Shock Sad Smile

somebody slap me.

hairylights · 06/09/2011 16:51

Congrats boodle

Collie due to the fact that I don't get any enhanced maternity pay I'm really hoping to work up to the birth. I know it sounds mad to many people but my job isn't physically taxing, and I don't want to be sitting at home overdue and fed up! I am saving some annual leave to take in the last weeks.

I may decide later on to work up til my due date, though at least then it's only likely to be two weeks waiting about.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 06/09/2011 17:05

I am still lurking and reading everyone's news, but have obviously been rubbish at posting because this has fallen off my threads I'm on Blush

That list is looking great - it's amazing to see so many people at the top that I've been through the whole journey with, right from the ttc after mc thread. It's been a long and rocky journey but so great to see so many of you getting near the finish line Smile

Lots of sympathy to those not sleeping well - I'm just the same. Also get to a point in late evening where I just can't get comfortable sitting around - have ordered birthing ball so hopefully that will help (I do actually already have one but seeing as I let ds and dd have it to play on after dd was born and it's lived in the garden for the last five years I thought I ought to get a new one!)

blackkat so sorry about your friend Sad. I would send a card or something, I really appreciated and kept all mine in dc3's memory box and if she doesn't want to she can easily throw it out, but there's nothing worse than feeling that people are staying away or avoiding the subject!

dachs hope you're doing ok, lovely

Had my 28 week appt today, all well so far. That's it now until 36 weeks! MW also gave me the dates for nhs antenatal classes - are any of you second or third timers bothering? Part of me thinks it might be good because my "mum" friends have all finished having children now and it might be good to meet some new people who'll be on mat leave at same time as me, but the rest of me thinks I'd feel a bit daft going along third time round Confused

Daisybell1 · 06/09/2011 17:08

Thank you so much for the reassurance Coconuts (although sorry they're scaring you so much Sad). And thank you Tunnocks too. I'll try the Spinning Babies site, thanks (although my PG brain struggles to follow it through), I think maybe the pelvic floor relaxation might help (although I may stock up on tena lady first Hmm)

Glad you are feeling better Collie, it sounds like a day off was definitely needed. I had random sickness throughout, and frequently had knackered days too - the bundles of energy bit certainly passed me by!

WIW I don't know how you cope in that heat! I found myself blowing up like a balloon whenever I go further south, let alone anything more. Its about 10 degrees out there at the moment and its bliss! Glad the jab was ok Smile

Wombat I am so with you. Like you, I just want her here safe where we can look after her (and even thinking that way with where my head's been through this pregnancy is a bloody miracle). If there's a problem I just want her here safe and sod the birth plan (or flow chart which one couple at the NCT had prepared Hmm)

Boodles crumbs, you certainly have a lot on your plate atm. I'm afraid that I don't have masses of good advice, but can you take a couple of days to get your head straight - you must be still in shock

cep · 06/09/2011 18:02

evening ladies,

boodles congratulations. i haven't got any advice, i just hope the news is received better than you think it will be.

1st day back today after a week off and i am soo tired.

Daisybell1 · 06/09/2011 19:02

Sorry Boodle forgot to add Congratulations!

DiffedAgainDachs · 06/09/2011 19:25

Congrats boodle :)

I had another scan today.

The person today doesn't think it's an ectopic. They think it's a burst cyst from the ovary, the shadows which were visible are the remnants of the follicles stimulated for the IVF and that the fluid which is visible in the pelvis isn't blood but perfectly normal. So all that stress for a day and a half was just a waste of energy!

Am now:
very wet as got soaked in the rain
feeling silly for all the stressing since yesterday.

Also, I feel like a complete idiot as I had to leave the house v quickly after I found out about the scan so that I could get there in time, and I was in the middle of preparing dinner and forgot to turn the gas hob off. It occurred to me after I got to the station that I may have left it on as I didn't remember turning it off, so I called the PIL as they have a spare key and asked them to check (they live about half an hour away) and it was on so I'm glad I asked! Dinner was, of course, completely burned by the time they got there!

bigmacandhappymeal · 06/09/2011 19:31

boodle welcome back and congratulations :)
That sounds like a hell of a situation. Sit tight for a couple of days, mental on here and then think about discussing it with DH. Saying no more kids is all very well when there isn't one in the oven ... I suspect that although he will be shocked/upset etc he may come round...and it does take two to tango. If no more kids was the order of the day then he should have put a johnny on it ;)
Try and relax (ha, I know) and welcome back again! X

yay yay yay dachs made my bloody day.

boodles omg amazing to meet you! good luck with the days ahead and I hope that things work out the way you wish.

bigmacandhappymeal · 06/09/2011 19:35

X post - dachs I've just had a cry at your post. Delighted to hear that it's not ectopic. Are there any issues with what they've found and the bean? Getting wet/blowing up the house/burning tea are balls compared to how good this is :) You are not daft at all, I would have mentalist myself hairless if I was in your shoes this week. Enormous (hug) to you and yours
Yay!
Xxx

dach oh that's fantastic news, so so pleased for you. Are you still going on thursday?

Daisybell1 · 06/09/2011 20:56

Yay for your news Dachs I'm sooooo happy to hear it!!!!

And bless your PIL for saving your kitchen if not your dinner Grin

CollieandPup · 06/09/2011 21:12

Dachs that is simply the best news EVER!!!! I'm soooooooo Smile for you! What a relief! Was it your GP that refered you for another scan? How good that he did! Really not you who should be feeling silly, if I'd have had that news yesterday I'd have been mentalling just the same! It's really the sonographer from yesterday who should feel silly!

boodle how lovely to hear from you-firstly THANK YOU soooo much for the thread!!!! Secondly, I've unfortunately no wise words but congratulations on your bfp. I'm sure DH will be happier than you think. But wow, you certainly have a lot on your plate!

Informed DH that our first NCT class (tomorrow) is on breastfeeding and he looked suprisingly keen-turns out hs mate has told him they'll be loads of 'boobage' !!!!

Freezingmyarseoff · 06/09/2011 21:31

Another lurker actually posting today....

Dachs yay yay as I said on the common room thread Grin

Izzy great news on the check-up. It's going quickly isn't it?

Boobleboot congrats, although I do understand your worries. I second bigMac, take a few days, if only just to breath calmly. I think we might have been on the grads thread for a bit a while back.

Collie PMSL about your DH and his maturity. Glad it's not just mine then.

Hairy I've been tired again lately after having a few weeks of feeling normal again. In fact I've started puking again Hmm Time to get some more early nights in.

Daisy sorry about the mouthfuls of bile. Can you prop your bed up at the head end a bit so you are sleeping on a bit of angle. I think that helps a lot.

Quick question, I've started getting a bit of heartburn which I suppose is normal but just wondered if anyone else has it and can they remember when they started it. I'm 22 weeks and am a bit surprised to get it this early or maybe it isn't that early?

I'm sorry I haven't name checked everyone but waves to you all. I will keep up a bit more but am off to bed so I don't puke again tomorrow.

Velvetcu · 06/09/2011 21:38

Woohoooo dachs that is wonderful news GrinGrin I'm so pleased for you

hairylights · 06/09/2011 22:21

Wow dachs amazing news :)

hairylights · 06/09/2011 22:21

Wow dachs amazing news :)

Blackkat · 06/09/2011 22:22

Dachs I am so, so pleased for you and DH, truly thrilled that everything is as it should be. Grin Here's to an uneventful 7 months for you x

Collie so relieved that your cramps have eased and pleased that you got some rest, so important, far more so than work (even tho sometimes it's hard to make that call Wink ). Broken sleep is no joke, I'm hoping for a better night than last night myself.

Boodle Congratulations on your BFP, and thanks for the thread! Hope everything works out for you and DH.

Hairy the tiredness only really clears up for me if I have two massive lie-ins at the weekend and a nap one day in the week...so it doesn't really. I'm wiped out just trying to be "normal" as in go to work, make food and keep me, the house, DH and the cat clean! Grin

Emoo nice to hear from you - tho sorry to hear things aren't great for you at the moment, and also sorry to hear you might not be able to get the support here you should...Sad

WIW the breathlessness sounds normal I think - I'm like it pounding up the stairs at work. Glad the antiD went well, and that you find the other earring Smile

bigmac thanks for doing the list - how're you doing...sleepless nights too?

Daisy sorry to hear that daisybean is already ignoring instructions Smile - the advice sounds reassuring to me. Also, apparently one of those birth ball things can help get the baby in the "optimum" position. There are links online to show the exercises.

coconuts waiting for you to jump the list, so hope all gets sorted for you soon now the CMW is on the case. FX x

tunnocks, izzy nice to have you both back from holidays

minnie, how have the first days back been? Hope your younger class are working out well for you.

Noting advice on winter coats and tights, autumn has caught me out a bit so am off shopping this weekend as actually look like an egg/potato on legs and it's not an attractive look Grin

Thanks for all the advice about my friend, pink, harassed, bigmac and everyone else. Collie it's a different friend, a sad reminder of how frequently it happens Sad. I sent a text yesterday, and also to her DH. Will be in touch again this wknd and also follow up. We work together so it's going to be tough not seeing each other. Do appreciate all your advice - thank you. I like the card/flowers idea. Can't shake the guilty feeling though. Sad

to katherine, Harassed, milkys, freezing, lara, velvet, cep...scooby* are you there??

bigmacandhappymeal · 07/09/2011 08:56

Morning all - the rain has stopped!

freezing I've had heartburn for ages now - at least since week 21 I think maybe earlier. You can get gaviscon on prescription (500ml bottle for free) and if that doesn't work for you there is also a tablet the GP can give you which apparently works a treat. I've basically had a Gav bottle glued to my side and I take swigs from it throughout the day and in the night draws mental parallel to drunks with bottles of white lightening and again wonders why sex life is on the wane. My recommendation if you get it is make sure you ask the pharmacist to give you the mint flavour. Aniseed is awful.

blackkat sleep is for wimps! I was having a lovely Hmm potter around at 3am this morning. I didn't appreciate you were work colleagues - that is difficult. Completely understand why you feel guilty. It's because you are a nice person, however remind yourself that this doesn't mean you don't deserve your lovely minikat.

Happymeal was having a disco at 6am this morning - I do wonder what goes on. It would be nice to have a babycam.

I've been feeling sick in the mornings since Sunday. Wonder if its a) my body telling me I don't have as much room in my tummy anymore so should eat less and more often b) please not MS coming back c) nothing at all just a flukey thing... anyone else hit 28+ weeks and feel the same?

OP posts:
wombatinwaiting · 07/09/2011 09:48

Ooh - lots of news to catch up on.

First off dachs - what a rollercoaster for you! How are you feeling about it all now? So pleased to read the news and I'm curious to know too if you go for the scan again tomorrow..... what are the next steps from here? Sending as many non-mentalling vibes as I can x

Wow boodle - I am indebted to you! How lovely to meet the thread starter. Congrats on the bfp and can completely understand all the confusion etc. Here's hoping DH is more receptive than you think.

bigmac - I have had a couple of bouts of nausea return in the last week or so (now 28+6) and it's usually when I haven't had something to eat (e.g. like you in the mornings) and a little something is sufficient to quell it.

Your DH has made me chuckle collie!

Great to hear from freezing and izzy - glad all went well at the 28 week appt. Can't believe you don't see anyone until 36 weeks - I think I see my doc every 2 weeks from now... could get expensive though as the insurance has a limit!

Ugh re: the bile daisy and boo to the knackeredness. Hope you're being well looked after by sheepdog and OH x

Wombat33 · 07/09/2011 09:58

Yey for dachs!!! fab news!!

I'm in hospital with suspected cholestasis, though there's now some confusion about my results. Grrr! Had a sweep last night and due to be induced tomorrow unless plans change. Terrified.
