Yeah it's the one at the last drop hotel, going to try and make it this Sunday. I am still stretching into old cossies, well was last week but may just have a quick try before I get there!

OiMissus · 24/07/2011 10:09

to go or not to go... I know I should... I've just had two shredded wheat, followed by two crumpets drowned in butter...

kri5ty · 25/07/2011 07:23

Morning all,
I went. Aquanatal was good. At the moment, it's very gentle and quite relaxing (in parts, inother parts you do feel like yo're having a bit of a work out), but as the pregnancy progresses it'll get more difficult The instructor was good, and had lots of good advice, so I'm going to try and keep going.
I also got to meet bennybenbear briefly and say hello. :)
(I need to get a maternity swimsuit, I stretched my normal one over me and it wasn't very comfy!)

kri5ty · 25/07/2011 07:48

Hmm i may give it a go, although it wont be for a few weeks yet, last drop isnt too far away, only down the motorway! I was going to just swim, but when i tried it when we were away it felt too strange, kind of like my stomach muscles had been pulled apart! having done no exercise at all since being preg, i may just go for a little walk after my siesta later :) if it doesnt rain!

Yes aquanatal was nice - hi again Vanessa/OiMissus!! Was nice to put a face to a name and meet someone so close in EDD!
Would be good to see you there too Kristy.
Won't be going next week as hubby away at the moment, going crazy at home alone so am off back home to the folks this weekend.
Will be there the week after though and going to make the most of free swim before and after - just a shame we can't use the thermal area! Would love a sit in the Jacuzzi!

Kristy - I am so jealous of your siesta!!

kri5ty · 25/07/2011 09:04

I need it hun... getting up at 4.30 every day i need an hour in the afternoon lol

Is the water warm there? haha
How did you two find each toher.. was it a "i'll be the one in the pink swimsuit and a headband" kind of thing? haha x

OP posts:
OiMissus · 25/07/2011 09:09

I don't understand why we can't use the jacuzzi??? It won't be as hot as a bath at home. I understand about the sauna - that would be too hot, but...
Yep, a swim before/after would be good. And yep, Kristy, it'd be good to see you there too in a few weeks.
And I hadn't realised that our due dates were so close, Becs.
And isn't it odd that the other people in the class were all first time mums-to-be? Maybe you get blase after number 1.
Gonna look for a swimsuit now whilst I remember...

bennybenbear · 25/07/2011 09:17

I'm due on the 5th Dec Vanessa. Good point about the jacuzzi - it isn't recommended because of the heat but neither are hot baths and i've had a few of those - oh dear, hope its ok! I think it would be ok if you weren't in there for long but that would probably defeat the object!!

Kristy, they heat the pool a bit more for us on the Sunday so its a lovely temp.

kri5ty · 25/07/2011 09:18

ooo i'd be scared! I get a little shy in new situations... but then you can't shut me up! haha

OP posts:
kri5ty · 25/07/2011 09:19

Jacuzzis are ok as long as they are not reallllly hot and raise your blood preassure too much (as in you go light headed!)

I am not ment to use them anyway as they make me black out... but i still do muhahaha and i just get out if its too hot!

OP posts:
OiMissus · 25/07/2011 09:42

"Shy in new situations" ... err, yes. I stood like a lemon at the corner of the pool for quite a while, Blush I thought I was in the wrong place, and then saw two obviously pregnant ladies going into another door - so I followed them, straight into a disabled toilet. Whoops!

No one rescued me, because my bump isn't massive, and they didn't want to insult me by asking if I was preggers, as opposed to just being a bit fat.
:)

kri5ty · 25/07/2011 09:50

yup that sounds like moi!!

if i do come i will be (like a school kid) getting you to meet me outside!! lol so we can go in holding hands haha :o

Mercure Last Drop Village Hotel & Spa Bolton
Hospital Road, Bromley Cross, Bolton, Lancashire BL7 9PZ

And you get some good deals at the spa if you do the class too apparently!

kri5ty · 25/07/2011 10:29

OP posts:
OiMissus · 25/07/2011 10:38

yes - just drop in - deals at the spa? Interesting. I reckon a pregnancy-special massage treat will be on the cards in a month or so.

kri5ty · 25/07/2011 11:07

ooooooo a massage i neeeeeeed one badly!!! dan (as amazing as he is) won't massage me, i ask him and he gets too distracted with tv or somthing and it lasts a whole 2 mins hehe

Morning ladies,
To keep this thread active and attract any other mums-to-be in the manc area to our meet-up, what do we fancy for our meet up? I think we established early/lunch already (as we're all in bed by 9), so where's a good place in the TC? Are we doing lunch, or just coffees (and cakes!)? The Iguana place is quite laid back - more bar/restaurant than just restaurant, the menu is nice, and they often have lunch offers. Carluccios is OK but a bit stark white. What are the other places like? Vote for your favourites now! :)

kri5ty · 27/07/2011 08:54

i lurve las iguanas!! (but that was mainly post pregnancy due to the 2 for 1 cocktails!!)

I am easy, i love cake... i love food... so where ever anyone fancies!!
