Labour must be close because not only am I absolutely starving, exhausted but unable to sleep let alone well!
But I swear if DP's elbow touches my arm one more time I will throttle him!
I cannot stand anyone near me and nearly everything is driving me mad with misery.
I am also highly emotional.

Come moan with me, please bring warm donuts Grin

nicola well done you, congratulations! Lovely name and a good healthy weight too.

Morning all my fellow waiters, totally bored and fed up here too (though at least not in pain, so have less to moan about than some). I just don't think I'm ever going to go into labour. Spent all night dreaming about my waters breaking and/or having a show, all the while knowing it was just a dream Angry

buttonmoon78 · 21/07/2011 08:49

Yay Nicola! (and anyone else I've missed)

No word from Jimmy though. Hope she's ok.

Am currently typing my birth story in word in dribs and drabs to copy and paste. I reckon I should have it done by the time he's 18 Wink

TrinaLuciusMalfoy · 21/07/2011 08:52

Just had a call from consultant's secretary: I've been booked for an ELCS on 2nd August in case nothing's happened before then (would be 40+9). My gut feeling was that I didn't want induction after last time and he agreed. This was my decision, and it's great to have a finite date on all this - so can anyone tell me why I'm now sitting here blubbing like I've just watched Beaches, Shadowlands and Bambi back to back?

witches · 21/07/2011 09:13

Well done nicola! And glad you now have a girl to go along with your boys! Nothing has happened for me! Still bleeding a little from sweep but no contractions at all. Fair to say gutted covers it! Good luck anyone with appt today.

nicolamumof3 · 21/07/2011 09:16

Button jimmy in for induction right now I believe

aStarInStrangeways · 21/07/2011 09:16

Trina one word: hormental Grin

No word from MummyTigger either, I hope she's okay and is just busy cuddling a squishy new baby.

TrinaLuciusMalfoy · 21/07/2011 09:29

Good word Grin

Darlingdamsel · 21/07/2011 09:33

Lovely Nicole! Another one arrives. Smile.

Alas I think I fell asleep at 3 am and awoke around 8 ... that is a marathon sleeping session for me and something I really needed.

Today is my Due Date and no signs of anything happening. Sigh .... I don't want to be induced so baby your lease is UP officially.

buttonmoon78 · 21/07/2011 10:59

Ok ? here goes? it?s a long one! Grin

Friday: 9am: rang to check bed availability, told to ring at 10am.

10am: rang again, told there?s no space, call at 2pm but it wasn?t looking likely for today. I had a small wobble and said the cons wanted to scan me but was only there in the morning. Was told there was no need for a scan. I promptly burst into tears, DH speaks to matron who says ?Mr Button, why is Mrs Button so upset?? Mr Button tells her in no uncertain terms. We are called in immediately for a scan Grin Scan shows baby has reverted to LOA ? yay! But there?s still no space. Ring at 2pm, consultant promises that if there?s no space today then he will induce on the Sat. With a wobbly chin I agree. We go out for lunch, then eventually they ring at 6.30pm to say to come in for 9pm.

9pm: in delivery suite. Bum is on bed but they can?t ?do? anything as they are short-staffed and unwilling to start me until there is someone who can be with us continually in case it?s quick (ha bloody ha).

11.30pm: sweep. I didn?t find it painful at all. In fact I totally got the giggles as mw was saying she was stretching it and pulling it forwards. Cue DH saying ?that?s it, hook it over her toe?? Hmm Sleep for a bit?

Saturday: 5.10am: mw can finally break my waters. Yay! But nothing really happens. Boo!

9.45am: synto drip put in. Within an hour, strong contractions but not dilating fast. The only way I could keep the pain out of my back was to sit bolt upright but that meant that the monitor wouldn?t register baby?s hb. After a while they said either I had to lie back (no) or have the fetal scalp monitor put on (no). So I asked for an epidural thinking the anaesthetist would be 30-60mins away. Within 10 mins I was sitting on the bed being swabbed down! The epidural worked great ? I had two top ups as I had two breakthrough zones ? one on each hip ? but each time the anaesthetist was there within 10 mins to sort it ? despite being a Saturday. They did warn me that usually they let it wear down for pushing but as I would know what I was doing (being #4) they?d try me with it full first.

Finally about 9.30pm: I began to shake uncontrollably and they examined me, found me to be 10cm and baby?s head ?right there?. They let me sleep for about an hour and then woke me and said it was time to push. He got a bit stuck (had a deep dent above one brow) but I got him out all by myself which I was really pleased with as DH said at one point they were discussing getting a dr in.They left the epi as was because although it was a bit of a struggle getting him out they could tell I was pushing 'right' apparently.

They put him straight on my chest where he just lay and snuggled and fed a bit for about 45 mins til I was sick all over his head Blush so they had to give him a wipe over then. Shame was, they had to do it again about 30 mins after that Blush Blush

Tiny tear, but already it?s got to the point where I can wee normally Grin. Feeding is going well so far. I am a bit sore on one nipple but it?s beginning to get better and I?ve got the local BF lot sending someone round later to check latch etc. I know it sounds daft but because I?ve never been v good at it before I?m not sure what?s right and wrong but as it?s going so well I want to do everything I can to continue.

BTW, if anyone?s struggling ? I did give S a tiny formula feed on Monday and Tuesday nights. He took about 1/2oz each time which was enough just to settle him and give me a bit of breathing space. And I can assure you that from the state of my boobs yesterday that it hasn?t affected my supply AT ALL! Wink

All in all this is a bit of an essay, but it?s been nice and cathartic for me so sorry you had to suffer Grin

Nicplus1and1baking · 21/07/2011 17:23

Yay more babies Grin

Congratulations ladies.

My update - well not a lot except i think mucus plug came away earlier Grin

How would any of you describe it??

buttonmoon78 · 21/07/2011 17:26

Snot? With a bit of blood in?

Nicplus1and1baking · 21/07/2011 18:23

Oh right def snot, no blood lol sorry for tmi Smile

TrinaLuciusMalfoy · 22/07/2011 08:36

Still pregnant with no signs of ANYTHING. Anyone else?

aStarInStrangeways · 22/07/2011 08:41

and the baby has been really quiet this morning, so now I'm worried as well as fed up, tired and moany.

MrsVidic · 22/07/2011 08:52

Still firmly preg here too! Have had really bad pains down my legs but Mw said it's the babies head moving down. I'm at Mw today and am 38 + 2 now and I'm slightly dreading the appt as shell probably tell me I have a while to go yet!
My dd was 2 yesterday so I feel ready now her birthday is out of the way!
I just want a day without heartburn! Please!

MrsVidic · 22/07/2011 08:54

Oh is anyone else demanding daily sex, I'm sure Dp wants me to go overdue as he is enjoying the evacuation attempts

Darlingdamsel · 22/07/2011 09:32

Sigh ... still overdue and baby isn't giving any indications of getting a move on. I weighed myself this morning as I felt I had gained a lot of weight in recent weeks - and boy have I. I would say a kilo a week for the last moth. Wow!

Button thank you for the recap and again congrats!

TrinaLuciusMalfoy · 22/07/2011 11:15

Mrs - Nope, no drive at all, no matter how desperately I want to get things going! The DH has tentatively suggested it might help, only to be given a look that withered things so completely we may never have sex ever again Wink

LadyGoneGaga · 22/07/2011 13:04

No sex here either. Might do it after sweep tonight.

Sweep much more succesful this time. My lovely case load student did it so hope she did it right. But she reckons I am 2-3 cm dilated and soft. Cervix not entirely forward but was at least reachable and baybee is now engaged. Wasn't too sore, just reminded me of VE's in labour.

Really hope that gets me going. Otherwise induction booked for Sunday.

TrinaLuciusMalfoy · 22/07/2011 17:15

Hooray, had (non-bloody) show this morning and bump has gone REALLY quiet since. As DD virtually stopped moving the day before it all kicked off with her I'm hoping this is a sign! There's been enough movement to feel happy but so much less than usual IYSWIM >>crosses fingers but not legs

LadyGoneGaga · 22/07/2011 18:25

No twinges but clearly is all going to kick off once DS is in bed . I plan to drink red wine tonight. Just because...

Sounds encouraging, Trina.

MummyTigger · 22/07/2011 18:45

AStarInStrangeways - you were right!!

Carwyn-James Evans, born by EMCS at 16:55, weighing 9lb 4oz!!

Basically to fill everyone in - I went back to hospital and found I was 4cm. Was struggling with just Gas & Air so had an Epidural to allow me to rest, then they artificially broke my waters.

Woke up, found I was 7cm..... and then stayed that way for the next 7 1/2 hours!! They put me on a drip to try and get me to open up but by that time I'd been in active labour 14 hours, awake for around 36 and in pain for most of it. Baby was also playing with the umbillical cord, so they decided to take me to surgery.

Got to surgery and they found out it would have been a CS anyway - the bloomin' boy had flipped himself around after they broke my waters, so he was back-to-back. Little git.

Everybody is doing fine - he's absolutely gorgeous and looks just like his daddy! Is being spoilt from all sides, and even my dog can't stop fussing over him! Have just got home, so thought I'd update you all :)

Congrats to anyone whose had babies in the last few days, and a great bit "Hang In There" for anyone who hasn't.

And I don't care if I was in agony for most of it, and I don't care if I'm feeling like an elephant trod on me - it was totally worth it! Most beautiful boy in the world.

Darlingdamsel · 22/07/2011 19:45

Tiger a big Conrgrats!

I weighed my self this morning and realised that I have gained a kilo a week for the last month. No wonder I feel dredful! But stll no baby ... he is one stubborn child. Sigh ...

Oh please let it be soon!

aStarInStrangeways · 22/07/2011 20:08

MummyTigger fabulous news, and a fabulous name! Congratulations :) It really all worth it, isn't it?

LadyGoneGaga · 22/07/2011 20:12

Congratulations, Mummy Tigger. Lovely big boy.
