Labour must be close because not only am I absolutely starving, exhausted but unable to sleep let alone well!
But I swear if DP's elbow touches my arm one more time I will throttle him!
I cannot stand anyone near me and nearly everything is driving me mad with misery.
I am also highly emotional.

Come moan with me, please bring warm donuts Grin

I think it is the real thing TBH - it might just be a bit slow to get started. You've got lots of signs - emotional, dull aches, not wanting to be alone etc. Maybe you'll find that you get a long build up but then the hard bit is over within a couple of hours.

Keep us informed because we're all v jealous interested!

mumblebum · 22/06/2011 08:10

Morning all, still here, still no signs of anything.

PWB get your Mum over. You need to rest and relax. Fingers crossed things will kick off properly for you soon. Sounds like the work is starting now, albeit slowly. Keep us posted.

NewMummy5July2011 · 22/06/2011 08:23

Can I join in too for a moan? I'm 38 + 1 and feeling really tried and grumpy - can't sleep at night for more than an hour at a time, getting loads of pains, and now have horrible pain down by backside when I walk! It irritates me when DH sleeps at night because I get so mad that he can and I can't!

Everthing makes me cry at the drop of a hat and all I want to eat is chocolate.

I used to be really scared of labour and now I just want to meet my baby and get this going! Am so impatient!

PWB - will also keep my fingers crossed and I hope things get going very soon!

prolificwillybreeder · 22/06/2011 08:28

Thanks for being so kind :) I need all the support I can get.
Annoyingly DP has had to go to work. Can't afford the holiday when we'll need it later on. Luckily he doesnt work too far away.
Amazing how much you forget from the first time, the emotional bits and frustration! Just ive got DS to entertain now. Thank goodness for rice krispies and 'show me show me'.
Had one bigger contraction about 15 mins so pretty inconsistent I need to stop judging them by full on labour.

Sorry if anyone is jealous, I can assure you this slow labour malarky is just as frustrating as the 'am I pregnant or not' bit!

Excuse me while I gatecrash at 31+5 (I will go away again in a moment), but I want to say thanks for the warm doughnuts and you have inspired me to stop moaning (today) as I was getting into an emotional state with backache, size, general lack of coping with DD1 and trying to get anywhere on time. But now I realise it's only going to get worse, so I might as well pin a smile on my face.

Also, for those of you facing rude comments about your size, I hope you are smiling sweetly and saying "And when are you due?" to whoever is making the comment. They so totally deserve it!

Good luck all of you, I hope the waiting doesn't go on too long.

prolificwillybreeder · 22/06/2011 10:00

Treehugga, please stay if you want, sneak in past the bouncers!
I have also found my second pregnancy a lot harder going. Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well.

Update: another contraction and can't stop weeing. Am getting on the birthing ball. Panicked mother on route

Oh good luck!

smellyeli · 22/06/2011 12:28

Ooo, PWB I am Envy. Good luck. Go straight to bed when your mother arrives.

Nothing here. Pineapple, curry, the other thing - nada.

Have developed sciatica also - great.

DD is in nursery tomorrow thank goodness so if nothing has happened I will go and see Bridesmaids on my own and eat my body weight in pick and mix.

nicolamumof3 · 22/06/2011 12:36

oooh PWB sooo exciting!! yes when your mother comes just get some rest. Does ds go to nursery or not?

Am fortunate i supppose that my eldest two in school and youngest in nursery each afternoon. but still have the nursery/school runs to do and teatime/bedtime grrr. At least the sun is back out for a moment and my washing on line.

dash round to nursery now and a waddle up to mw. 36+4.

MotherPanda · 22/06/2011 12:48

Hello Mothers!

36 weeks... and eyeing up the clary sage bottle every day. Have promised DH I won't try it till i'm 37 weeks. Had a show (midwife confirmed - very embarassing conversation!) . Had some serious cramping yesterday (two hours of continuous moaning on all fours) but baby still isn't engaged. Hoping that I won't go to 42 weeks. Don't think I can stand the tension, everytime I have a BH or use the toilet I'm getting exited thinking - is this a sign?

prolificwillybreeder · 22/06/2011 13:29

Hi all, quick question: had contractions on and off all morning, back ache and bum ache IYSWIM!
Should I call the mw? I just don't know, I'm not enough pain and they aren't consistent so I know they won't do anything I am so fed up!

OP posts:
treehugga · 22/06/2011 14:00

PWB, thanks for making an exception for me. I can't help but respond to any call to moan.

Also, no harm in calling the MW to describe symptoms is there? Nice to get some reassurance from the professionals.

mumblebum · 22/06/2011 14:14

Better to call if you're not sure I think. Then you can either get reassurance or told if you need to be checked over.

I got my haircut this morning (goodness knows when that'll get done again) and was falling asleep in the chair. Came home and got my head down in bed but the bloody dog woke me up woofing. I think he just wanted some company. Nearly school run time now so no point going back to bed. I hope the children are in a good mood and play nicely after school. I'm so tired.

nicolamumof3 · 22/06/2011 14:25

PWB No harm in calling at all. Im always an in denial person in labour myself and leave it last minute before doing anything inc. the hospital which does panic dh a bit!!

Ifancyanewname · 22/06/2011 14:32

Can I join in, am due tomorrow with my second and really ratherr miffed with it all now. I was convinced this one would be early as dd was 4 days early but still nothing. I had a phone call from my brother this morning at 8.05 (thankfully id woken up 2 mins before otherwise it could have all got very nasty) convo went like this:
Him: have you had any contractions yet
Me: You're not allowed to ask me that, its so annoying
Him:anyway, I havent got time to chat, I'm at work
Me: well why did you bloody well call me then!

I dont know why he thinks I am going to have the baby and squirrel it away without anyone knowing.

ipredicttrouble · 22/06/2011 15:51

Hi can I join?

Just started my own thread about this then saw this one Smile. Looks like there's plenty of people here to keep me company!

I'm 39+6 and bloody fed up. I am driving myself absolutely mad with my constant analysis of how I feel! Aahhhh!

I'm even jealous of anyone who's had a BH/got backache etc. I just want to feel something! I don't think I've ever had a BH, in fact, I don't even know what they're meant to feel like. I'm sure I didn't have any with DD1 either.

Desperate to get going!

ipredicttrouble · 22/06/2011 15:52
ipredicttrouble · 22/06/2011 15:52

PWB how are you feeling? Any more contractions? Did you call the MW?

Twit · 22/06/2011 16:11

can I play too? 38+1 today, have been told I have slightly high BP having also been told I need a growth scan as I am measuring 41 weeks. I might have to go in tomorrow if MW comes and BP hasn't gone down.

What's this about clary sage?

If I don't sound fed up enough I can try again...
Good luck pwb not at all jealous
I want to kill anyone who touches me. I spend my life reciting fuckofffuckofffuckoff over and over agin mostly in my head.

MotherPanda · 22/06/2011 16:31

Hello Twit - aparently Clary Sage (essential oil) is a uterine stimulant - so could in theory set off labour... pop six drops in the bath. Apparently you can get some good braxton hics from it, so if you're ready to go it could be the kick off...

For this reason its not reccomended for pregnant women, but I would say it's fine to use once you're full term.

Apparently its good for using in labour as well, if things start to slow down. I've heard you can sniff it and use it instead of gas and air as well.

kittyf86 · 22/06/2011 16:42

Hello all,

Well today was my due date, and no sign and baby isn't even engaged yet either! I kept thinking of everything as a sign - constant hunger, cramping feeling, belly ache, sensation of baby about to fall out when i get up......but none of it has led to the real deal!

I am very frustrated with the wait and just want to meet him or her :(

MotherPanda · 22/06/2011 16:46

Hello Kitty - I've heard that babies often don't engage untill you are in labour - so don't feel too upset about that.

Maybe try reasoning with your baby, bribes?

kittyf86 · 22/06/2011 16:56

lol i have been speaking to the bump urging it to arrive, but no luck!!!

buttonmoon78 · 22/06/2011 17:03

I agree with Panda. Bribery is the way forward - start as you mean to go on and all that! I've heard that on MN bribery, sausage rolls and fruit shoots go really well together Wink

I keep talking to mine, telling it that stamping on my cervix is really out of order but I think it's just putting the proverbial two fingers up at me!

loubuch09 · 22/06/2011 17:14

oooh can I join too! 40+1 sooo fed up!
loads of crampy/bh? not sure but pain! This is first baby and i really just want a sign that I am not actually an elephant and will go into labour sometime this year, hell I'd take this month, week just want her to come out now!
PWB- good luck I have a feeling you may have baby tonight...tho my intuition is obv up the creek as felt sure I would have had baby by now!
Lou xx
