Labour must be close because not only am I absolutely starving, exhausted but unable to sleep let alone well!
But I swear if DP's elbow touches my arm one more time I will throttle him!
I cannot stand anyone near me and nearly everything is driving me mad with misery.
I am also highly emotional.

Come moan with me, please bring warm donuts Grin

Oh I feel for you PWB - I would cry if they told me I wasn't as far along as I thought (and I'm not even contracting yet, nor dealing with another DC). Every day seems like an achievement by this stage, for me anyway! If you feel you need to be checked then I would say do it - you sound exhausted, and you never know, they may give you good news! It must be horrible to be in limbo like this for so long - in enough pain to keep you awake and make you miserable, but not enough to actually get going yet. I hope something happens very soon for you.

Thanks to smellyeli any sydneysuze for the info re inductions - I'm just going to hope it doesn't get to that stage! Lost the mucus plug this morning (lovely!), so that's another good sign I guess. 41 weeks tomorrow...

treehugga · 24/06/2011 09:25

Hi PWB, sounds like you need to do whatever you have to do to prioritise resting, if sleep is impossible. You'll feel much better if you are less tired. This is a time to call in favours and make outrageous requests of your nearest & dearest. Your needs should come first today - whether that's getting checked out at hospital or watching Cary Grant while eating marshmallows. Tomorrow won't be so bad if you look after yourself properly today. Plus, my money's on your labour coming soon - seems like you have a bundle of signs that it could be imminent, so that makes rest and TLC even more important.

emsdarling31 · 24/06/2011 09:47

How could they get your dates so wrong PWB? either way the signs are encouraging that your body is getting ready. Easier said than done but if you can relax you could get some much needed sleep and peace of mind. Do they have any pregnany massage? acapuncture or reflexology in your area? even if it doesnt help bring on labour (i have had 3 sessions of acapuncture and as i am 42+1, i dont think its an effective inducer!) all of these are a lovely way to de-stress and relax.

babyonbord · 24/06/2011 09:57

I was 36 weeks and 3 days when pre labour started and my ds was born at exactly 37 weeks so hopefully you'll have a baby before the week is out. I'mnow 37 + 3 days with my second i'm quite enjoying pregnancy, i like being able to sleep through the night and i've had a couple of calm weeks as my 2 year old has chicken pox so he's staying with his dad (my ex) as knowing my luck i would be that small percentage who caught it twice and then id go into labour not good.

loubuch09 · 24/06/2011 10:04

PWB-You poor poor thing how at this point can they say they got ur dates wrong?can only imagine how u feel!

I am now 40+3 and have got such swollen hands n legs and severe itching, feeling dizzy, sick!!! But no signs like plug or anything...so fed up!

I have midwife today usually i just say im fine yep yep yep but now i really am fed up..i am so anxious as this is first baby and have been monitored to death as large nuchal early on which has led to sooo many growth scans, 34 weeks said i was measuring 4 weeks ahead...y are they lettin me go over?!

Can I request a sweep today?will they do it?advise???

prolificwillybreeder · 24/06/2011 10:06

Thanks all. They didn't get my dates wrong apparently they were just written down wrong! Hmm

The contractions have died down again now :( Grr! So fed up it's not true!

SerenaJoy · 24/06/2011 10:09

I had a sweep on Wednesday when I was 40+4 loubuch09, so it's definitely worth asking.

nicolamumof3 · 24/06/2011 10:25

terrible night here, had indigestion, despite eating really early?! so didn't get to sleep til 2am then awake just after 6.30. Done school run, taken ds3 to his story time session at school, he starts reception in September. Now on the instructions of my lovely mother i am 'resting' on mn! Grin

wishing everyone good days. Sun is shining here which is nice.

MotherPanda · 24/06/2011 10:47

Poor you nicola, hope you can enjoy a dopey restful day.

I'm considering marching up to sainsburys - I get very excited about half price baby toilitries. I really have a bit of a collection (enough baby wipes to last till the baby is about 18 i'd say...)

nicolamumof3 · 24/06/2011 10:50

i was in sainsbo's yday and saw all the offers, couldn't carry anymore tho did get a tube of lasinoh tho!

mumblebum · 24/06/2011 14:22

Someone asked me when I was due today because it looks like I was due 6 weeks ago, apparently. Nice. What gets into people?!

mookickkick · 24/06/2011 14:31

Well mumble for once the opposite happened to me. The radiologist said she wasn't sure I was pregnant but had to ask! I wanted to take her home. Bad news is that I have fractured an ankle bone. Just what I needed huh? So cheer up everyone. It can always get worse, but probably won't Smile

mumblebum · 24/06/2011 14:49

Oh no your poor ankle! How did you manage that?

Twit · 24/06/2011 18:37

Well my moan is that on Weds my BP was a wee bit high and got referred for a growth scan. No sleep that night.
Thurs I go for scan and babytwit is measuring 7lb15 at 38+2 weeks. Not too bad especially if he comes now etc etc.
I get told to phone MW when I get home to make sure I get my BP checked. (you see where this is going ?)
MW arrives at about 6:30 - 7 pm despite beig told all 4 of my kids wouldn't help with the old BP nor would my Sainsbury's delivery. BP is high and I get sent back to hospital where I spend a romantic evening with DH lying on my back (SPD=ouch) with a monitor which is hurting the sore skin on my belly (and I'm allergic to the gel they use) desperately hoping my bloods are ok and that I can relax enough to get sent home. With newborns crying all around me which was fine but made me Envy
Anyhoo my strong regular BH make them all think I'm in early labour anyway, despite me saying no no it's BH and normal for me to be regular every now and then. They just smile and nod.
Upshot is I get sent home (yay)
Another sleepless night and another MW arrives to take my BP. All is well.
Am considering sex tonight to shift BAbytwit - well it is a friday.

Darlingdamsel · 24/06/2011 19:00

Oooh I am going to moan!

36+1 - Braxton Hicks all night, swollen ribs which makes laying down virtually impossible, heartburn hell ... sleep is not an option.

Today I had to pick up a baby bath from someone about 10 min walk away. I had totally forgot about the hill in between, so when I arrived I was dying to sit down and have something to drink. Amazingly the women just gave me the bath and sent me on my way ... for another 10 min walk back. I am utterly exhausted and wasted now and can even get up to go to the loo.

How am I suppoed to go 4 more weeks? Its insane!

prolificwillybreeder · 24/06/2011 19:18

Mumble-how rude!
MKK- ouch! You poor thing! I hope you're ok and being looked after.
Twit- oh Blimey what a time you've had. Hope all is ok and calmed down your end.

I went in this morning, baby is doing well lve dropped a lot apparently. He's really ready to go, just need harder, faster contractions. One mw whilst I was having a contraction- on a trace so it was clear said it could just be some painful BH's. The other mw and I just looked at her and funnily enough she scuttled away!
I'm just playing the waiting game now- great!

Hope everyone else is well. I can't scroll up to see everyone's posts on my phone sorry if I haven't replied to anything!

Well my waters went with quite a whoosh this morning all over the kitchen floor. Hospital called me in but then sent me home as contractions were irregular and fairly painless, and have continued to be so all day. Don't have anything to compare it to as it's my first, but just feels like period cramps. Anyway hoping they speed up or get worse otherwise i'm being induced at midnight. 39+4 today and had convinced myself I'd be late so there is hope ladies!

Twit · 24/06/2011 21:00

oh good luck poppy am jealous about things moving on (although would rather do without the threat of inductionTBH Wink )
I hope tonight is eventful in a good way for you.

kalo12 · 24/06/2011 21:12

serenajoy - what happens in a sweep?

good luck to those ladies on the way.

I am just lying on the couch with my belly hanging like a big tired sow in a pen!

prolificwillybreeder · 24/06/2011 21:14

Ooh good luck Poppy!

mookickkick · 24/06/2011 21:32

Thanks pwb and mumble. All a bit silly really. Just twisted my ankle while out walking and staring at St Pauls. Normally nothing but I guess the extra weight and softened ligaments conspired against me. DH had to fetch me by taxi and take me to A&E. Now resting at home, which isn't all bad. Except when I discovered we're out of paracetomol. Was eyeing the calpol...

Anyway, it's exciting to hear that the waiting will soon be over for some of you!

Darlingdamsel · 24/06/2011 21:32

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the email. Sorry, I am failing miserably at this point of multi-tasking ? which I have a feeling that you both understand.

So you are focusing the approach from the whole organisation / change management process perspective? I wonder who will take over from Nick and how the marketing person will be able to pitch it? Please do keep me in the loop as I am definitely still looking to come back in October and it would be lovely to deepen this process further if possible.

I hope you guys are enjoying the summer and getting out a bit.

Take care,

Stefanie

Darlingdamsel · 24/06/2011 21:35

Thatis a classic ... I just posted a work email on mumsnet and have no way of deleting it!
