Labour must be close because not only am I absolutely starving, exhausted but unable to sleep let alone well!
But I swear if DP's elbow touches my arm one more time I will throttle him!
I cannot stand anyone near me and nearly everything is driving me mad with misery.
I am also highly emotional.

Come moan with me, please bring warm donuts Grin

nicolamumof3 · 18/07/2011 18:50

yes could be! especially with the back ache. you could be starting. I feel absolutely nothing today no twinges or any pains. Off to have a shower and get ready for my night out in minute tho! Haven't been out in months Blush

My waters haven't gone spontaneously with any of mine.

MummyTigger · 18/07/2011 21:22

Still getting them - and they are starting to kind of... not hurt but just it kind of makes me go "ooh..." IYSWIM?! I don't even know if I'm making sense right now. I'm too excited. Hoping this is it but terrified that it's just gonna be a false alarm!

MummyTigger · 19/07/2011 08:08

Nothing more to report, other than I have a terrible craving for Krispy Kreme doughnuts....

I wish I could be certain. It's the uncertainty that's killing me!!

Georgimama · 19/07/2011 08:27

EAT THE KRISPY KREMES

Baby clearly wants them and it is your duty to respond to her/his needs.

Sounds like things are gearing up but it is a slow burner like my labour with number 1. In all seriousness keep active but rest too, and do eat little and often because you will need all the energy reserves you can muster if it's going to take a while.

Georgimama · 19/07/2011 08:28

My waters were broken by the MW at 7cm dilation - waters going is often a late part of labour, not an early one.

Orbinator · 19/07/2011 08:45

Mummy hope all is still going well, sounds like you may be onto something there :)

I tried to coax mine out with a dip in the birthing pool last night, but to no avail. Now I want to clean the water and make sure it isn't contaminated (possibly a slight over reaction as I'm not that dirty and it is a filtered pool after all!) but I need to put more chlorine and cleaning fluid in today anyway, so I might as well. Hope it's not to hard to empty it Confused. I get the feeling i've given myself more work to do...

Due date today. Fingers crossed as ever. Getting a bit boring now tbh!

Also, lower back pain seems to be a pre-requisite of pg but I can't tell if this is my kidneys hurting. Bit worried as had 2 UTI's and taken antibiotics but last test at hospital said it had gone. However, when MW came over to do unsuccessful sweep she said the same bar had shown up again...I think I should prob do a walk in up at the hospital and get it double checked?

TrinaLuciusMalfoy · 19/07/2011 10:26

Today brings backache and queasiness and the dog is acting REALLY weird...

Hopes this is all leading somewhere

MummyTigger · 19/07/2011 10:57

Oooh Trina, my dog has been acting very odd around me too. I'm sure she senses something! She's been my unofficial protector ever since the bump started showing, and she's barely left my side all day. Hope it's another sign! :D

Sending out "birth" vibes to everyone who's due or overdue! 40+1 today for me and still getting the crampy pains. Increase in discharge too, and it's changed consistency. A show on the way?

TrinaLuciusMalfoy · 19/07/2011 11:33

Ooooh, so exciting! (And so envy-inducing Wink)
The White Dog's been just in a really peculiar mood, The Brown Dog has just wanted to be right with me at all times - even if that means getting sat on by DD. The White Dog was the one who let us know I was pregnant with DD by stopping humping his blanket. He also spent the entire pregnancy snapping at me and being generally evil (to the point where we thought we'd have to rehome him) - and then spent the entirety of my 5 days in hospital refusing food and (when DH was home) staring at the door wimpering.

Dogs are weird.

MummyTigger · 19/07/2011 16:04

Ok, period pain like I haven't felt in 5 years. It's not been this strong since I was 16 and it was bad enough then to make me go onto the injection. So am wrapped up in my mothers electric blanket. Make it stop? Or at least have the contractions start properly. I really think this is it! fingers crossed

Sorry if I've hijacked the board by the way - it's one of my few outlets! All I get from my mum is the medical side of things. Useless woman ;)

Nicplus1and1baking · 19/07/2011 16:18

OM Efeing G why am i still here bloody waiting, am 40 plus 5 today Angry bloody lazy girl lol.

Got mw in morning for a sweep not sure if im excited/nervous bout it.

On plus side DH is now off for 1 month, so DD1 is occupied and leaving me alone a little, also name has been decided on today so hope that spurs her on.

Hows everyone today??

mummytigger wots latest? Smile

MummyTigger · 19/07/2011 16:28

Nothing new to report - am sweating ludicrous amounts, but I refuse to shift because otherwise I know how much I'll hurt. I'd rather be boiling hot and pain free.

Good luck for your sweep tomorrow Nic - if I'm not still in labour I'll cross my fingers for you :D xx

nicolamumof3 · 19/07/2011 16:31

I'm at day assessment unit hind waters gone but head not engaged which us why I'm not contracting never had a labour like this always been quick but then never had a girl before! Just exhausted

LadyGoneGaga · 19/07/2011 17:30

What are they doing with you, Nic? Do you have to stay in?

I'm fed up. They refused to do today's planned sweep because my cervix was so high on Friday. They didn't actually look and check. So going back on Friday and if it doesn't work I will be induced on Sunday. I shouldn't moan I suppose as not overdue (am 39+2 today) but would really like to avoid being induced if possible (am being induced as have gestational diabetes).

JimmyChoo17 · 19/07/2011 17:45

orbinator am trying to figure out the same with my back. Got real lower backache don't know if related to my pelvis pain, is UTI related or labour related.

I don't know what to do with myself now. Tried low dosage of strong painkillers no real help. I seem to be in worse pain now so about to start the higher dosage. Am thinking give it another night and see if no change in the morning, turn up at the hospital. last night was bad though.

Now I can barely move and scream or pass out when sit to pee because of the pain. If they do agree to d o something ill have to be induced which didn't like the idea of but can't see how can carry out in this level of pain. I think labour will be a walk in the park incomparision. I managed to get sone sleep earlier only about an hour but when I woke my pelvis cracked yet again and been sore since. Am worried m doing damage! I cant believe some people have this all pregnancy.

Nicola what will they do now? Feel for u with the exhaustion...it certainly doesn't help does it.

nicolamumof3 · 19/07/2011 18:15

I've been admitted to risky to send me home as if rest of waters suddenly go as head not engaged there is risk of cord prolapse. Which would mean ca under GA. so they are hoping labour starts naturally this evening or induction tomorrow. Have private room so not too bad just boring. Am to exhausted to walk around to start things off had revolting food going to try and sleep dh gone home so at least it's peaceful!!

JimmyChoo17 · 19/07/2011 18:44

Ooo nic slightly jealous of your possible induction but seriously hope all goes ok as obviously nozt ideal situation with baby! But u r in the best place. Good that u got a private room.

Just chucked more painkillers down throat so will see how get on with those and take it from there.

Not really got appetite...however could eat snickers...a lot of.... I think it's comfort eating mind!

MummyTigger · 19/07/2011 18:59

Amber alert for all my family members haha. I'm having contractions between 5 and 7 minutes apart.

I will say, I know how naive this sounds....... but I thought that I'd be much stronger than I actually am being. This is my first, and I'm really shocked at how quickly they've turned me into a gibbering, screaming wreck. ALways been good with pain but this is on a whole new level. I was so stupid to think I could handle this - DP is never putting his penis near me ever again lol.

Ringing the hospital now. They keep trying to tell me it isn't soon enough - and after DP put me on speaker she said they're happy for me to come in for pain relief.

SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE! :)

nicolamumof3 · 19/07/2011 19:19

Good luck tigger! I can't sleep here hare hospitals but know it is safest place. Revolting food too and miss my boys

Darlingdamsel · 19/07/2011 19:20

Mummy and Nicola good luck!

Oh Jimmy I feel for you. Gosh, that sounds very horrible and I don't know what you can do. I hope your little one arrives soon.

minicorrect · 19/07/2011 20:12

Oh wow!! So much excitement in the last 24 hours!!!

Where do I start?

Jimmy eat the Snickers and some more - you sound like you're having an awful time and I really do feel for you. I really hope things get going properly soon and that it's a walk in the park compared to the last couple of days. Massive hugs for you.

Mummytigger I hope things ease up a bit for you too. I remember thinking the same with my first that I was surprised at how much of a wimp I was being. But then I didn't know I had a back to back baby so what I thought were contractions weren't really. And then felt terrible when they told me I was only a few cm dilated. Be strong - you'll amaze yourself at what you're capable of!! And good luck too of course. Looking forward to hearing from you on the other side!

nicola - sorry things aren't going quite to plan, but nice to have your own room so make the most of it as I expect it's a rare thing for you these days! Hope you sleep well and all goes well tomorrow (or overnight!)

nicplusone hope tomorrow goes well for you. Enjoy having some time off!

Trina hope your dogs are showing some sixth sense and things are happening for you too.

Orbinator hope that it isn't another UTI but def best to get it checked. I seem to have constant lower back pain but think it's SPD rather than anything else. Your birth pool sounds very posh - which one is it?!

Massive congratulations button - so glad it's all over for you as I know you've been suffering these last few weeks. Hope it was all worth it plus some! Great name, great weight and great going. Take care of yourself and hope you feel miles better already

Finally, welcome Jenni - remember counting down the days to 37 weeks and have been willing baby out ever since. Now 38+2 and still willing it to come out!!!

Still no excitements here - lots of crampy pain last night alongside back pain up and down my back with lots of cervix stabbing too. DP was worried something was happening but I knew it wasn't. Was close to tears though so have no idea how I'm actually going to do this when it does happen!! Had a nice day today though - more weeding this afternoon till my hands hurt then took some time out to sunbathe while listening to hackgate on the radio. Still no sign of our cat though which is keeping us all a bit down and grumpy.

Good luck to everyone with a long night ahead - will be checking for updates!

MummyTigger · 19/07/2011 21:06

Only 1cm dilated, so they've sent me back home. But they reckon that since I've progressed so much in so little time, I'll be done by tomorrow afternoon :D Rather promising! Going to take some cocodamol and have a bath.

love to all.

Orbinator · 19/07/2011 21:12

Am pooing myself after reading Mummy's post - this is my first too and I'm doing it at home with G&A, TENs and my heated pool. I'd better remember the painkillers Confused.

The local Council closed the birthing centre in my town so no other option but to HB unless I want a 30min car ride in a taxi.

My pool is the second pool down on this site - it's heated and filtered (as I live alone I needed to make sure it would be ready and waiting as no muscle to hand!) so I hope I get to use it and don't have to go in to hospital for anything. www.babylovebirthingpools.co.uk/hire-birthing-pool.html

Orbinator · 19/07/2011 21:15

Oh and good luck and well done everyone. It was my due date today but obv no joy. Getting more and more Envy I have to say! x

JimmyChoo17 · 19/07/2011 21:26

Hi all
Well I'm being seen first thing in the morning to be assessed for induction.

Have copy and pasted this from a question I posted as can't b bothered to type again! But you'll get gist of it....

The option NOT to cry...wasn't one. I bawled on the phone how pathetic but they started to turn me away straight away....Had to put my hubby on. Worked well sort of....they have booked me in first thing to see a consultant who will assess me. If I went in now they said they would turn me away unless in labour or would just be given a bed but would rather be at home in bed. So she said if he can see the pain is too much then he'll book me in ASAP to get induced. All he needs to do is watch me attempt to pee....that will show him!

I feel like such a weakling I'm not normally like this but had to wave White flag.

They were shocked that I am unable to contact a community midwife. Mine goes off duty and there is no cover. I presumed that was standard!
