Labour must be close because not only am I absolutely starving, exhausted but unable to sleep let alone well!
But I swear if DP's elbow touches my arm one more time I will throttle him!
I cannot stand anyone near me and nearly everything is driving me mad with misery.
I am also highly emotional.

Come moan with me, please bring warm donuts Grin

Morning all! Another week and here we are!

39+2 today

yes its busy isn't it end of term, have sports day after lunch and its very hot here, then ds3's bday on wednesday then a few clear days so baby girl can arrive quite happily then.

chin up all, can't be long now...can it? I had heard that girls were impatient so I can live in hope!!

mumblebum · 11/07/2011 09:25

I'm getting to the point that I'm completely forgetting there's a baby at the end of this. I just don't want to be pregnant any more! I'm a full week more pregnant than I have ever been before.

prolificwillybreeder · 11/07/2011 09:31

Oh mumblebum :(
Hope all your end of term activites go well Nicola.

DS and I are having a pj day rebelling as the baby won't come out!

mookickkick · 11/07/2011 11:12

Hurrah for 3 and Eli! I've not posted in a while as last week was my final one at work and it goes without saying that I didn't finish everything I had hoped to finish. And still $%&(@ pregnant. Now have really bad backaches and stabbing pains down there^, much like pwb. Oh when will it end? My mother arrives on Sunday and I've got two friends on standby. My fingers are so puffy I can't make a proper fist in the morning Shock

Hope everyone is hanging in there!

mumblebum · 11/07/2011 14:27

Have just washed down some pineapple with a mug of raspberry leaf tea!

prolificwillybreeder · 11/07/2011 14:56

Good on you mumblebum!
Apparently it's nice cold with lime. I need to try this.
May get some pineapple I'm just not that keen. Could pop a cube of cheese on top with a cocktail stick Grin

Trying the clary sage again tonight, has had no effect tbh but at least I feel like I'm doing something!

MummyTigger · 11/07/2011 15:29

Ok, sympathy needed here - STAT!

Been having horrible issues with my left hip. So much so my stepdad has taken to calling me "Limpy". Bastard. And of course, stairs are not my friend, so I have to take them slowly. Only trouble is I just lost my footing on the stairs and fell up them, putting all my weight on my bad hip and twisting it round to the left. NOT HAPPY. Am sitting here dosed up on paracetamol and ibuprofen gel, but it still feels like my hip is on fire and being wrenched out of the socket Sad

DP is sitting here being all concerned. I'm tempted to have him take me to hospital, if only to get painkillers that actually work for once. It's bloody agony! :(

And by the way, raspberry leaf tea with lime cordial is gorgeous.

mumblebum · 11/07/2011 15:57

Oh you poor thing MT that sounds miserable. It might be worth getting it looked at.

To my surprise I actually quite liked the tea. I'm not normally keen on fruit teas but found this rather pleasant. How much are you supposed to drink? I so want this baby out before I have to go in for a sweep on Thursday. Not only would the timing be terrible then, but the consultant nearly made me weep with pain putting pressure on my pelvis (SPD) just measuring my bump! I'd hate to think what he could do to me with a sweep!

aStarInStrangeways · 11/07/2011 16:06

MT that sounds so painful, please do get it checked out and get some decent pain relief - you need to be fighting fit for labour so don't push yourself needlessly. My sympathies as I have also had left hip issues this pregnancy, although not to the same extent. Don't be a hero girl, go and get the drugs Grin

3become4 congratulations! It sounds like as much of a lovely experience as it can ever be :) Grin New baby cuddles, ahh, I am so jealous.

37 weeks today and feeling every single one of them. I took DS swimming this morning to wear him out, the little monkey, and got a painful boot in the bump catching him coming down the slide. So now I'm freaking out about that Hmm He also gave me a cracking headbutt (also by accident). The hairdresser is coming round later to give us both a trim - what's the betting one of us loses an ear by the end?

buttonmoon78 · 11/07/2011 16:46

Sounds like everyone's in the wars! I'm feeling decidedly sore today. My spd pains have ramped up a bit and I'm taking lots of cocodamol now which means I'm even more fuzzy-headed than normal and also they bung me up (sorry - TMI!).

However, just had one of those 'this is why I love having kids' moments. All dcs home from school, complimented by old neighbour because she loves them all, sitting in garden eating ice lollies while they are all nice to eachother! Rare as hen's teeth but nice all the same...

Come one baby - join the party!

minicorrect · 11/07/2011 17:50

Ooooooo! Please can someone explain all the different things to me - have been drinking raspberry leaf tea for a few weeks now instead of normal tea - but that's only 2-3 cups a day - is that enough? And I started taking EPO capsules on Thursday - they're 1000mg but have added vitamin E which I think is a bad thing? And should I be "popping them up" as well as taking orally? What do you do with the clary sage? Was going to get some for labour - I thought to burn but perhaps I've got that wrong?! Will start pineapple after the kitchen floor is finished on Wednesday. Is there anything else anyone recommends? Know none of this is proven, but can't see that any of it does any harm so all worth a try IYSWIM?

Button - my DD came over to the bump earlier and said "baby come out soon and play in my paddling pool with me". Heart melted!!!

Mummytigger - agree you should just go get checked out - you don't want anything making labour any more difficult for you.

And starinstrangeways you should take care too - assume you've been counting the kicks since and that everything's ok, but if you're not sure or at all worried, do get checked out. I was 37 weeks yesterday and feel like I've reached a milestone but now feel these last few weeks could go VERY slowly!!!

buttonmoon78 · 11/07/2011 18:25

RLT is a uterine tonic. It's not meant to bring labour on any earlier, but is meant to make contractions stronger when labour is happening.

EPO is meant to contain prostaglandins so again, whether it induces labour is doubtful, but it is meant to help the cervix prepare for labour. I'm taking 2x1000 orally (no Vit E though) and 1 the other end each night.

I have this theory (stated previously) that when you get into all of this it becomes so all consuming that you sort of forget the late pg stuff as you are utterly consumed with online research etc!

Also, another of dr button's theories - late pg is so shit that it makes labour almost something to look forward to. The relief of knowing pg is over is indescribable and makes the fear of labour recede.

As you were...

Icelollycraving · 11/07/2011 21:07

Well, ended up with an emc after induction & labour. Still in hospital, had a gorgeous baby boy weighing 9lbs7. The epidural & gas & air were fantastic, the getting to 3cm was hideous!
Good luck to all of you!

witches · 11/07/2011 21:15

Aw congrats icelolly lovely news!

Georgimama · 11/07/2011 21:19

Can someone with a bit further to go join in? I'm 36+5 and I don't actually want to go into labour as 1) it's a bit soon 2) I have a ELCS booked for 29th but by God I am fed up. Had a slightly worrying nesting spree this afternoon sorting through DS's playroom, and have had painful Hicks all day. Baby is leaping about in here like a loon. Have had enough - the next 18 days are going to be the longest of my life!

nicolamumof3 · 11/07/2011 21:20

huge congrats icelolly! Lovely to hear of another summer arrival. Take care and enjoy the newborn snuggles x

buttonmoon78 · 11/07/2011 22:13

Oooh Envy! Sniff his head for me please?! New babies smell sooo lovely! Congratulations.

And welcome Georgimama. Many of us have been on here some time. In fact, I think I was on here at 34 wks Blush so you're positively patient compared with that! FWIW, I've been having v painful BH for some weeks now so I wouldn't worry overmuch. Why the elcs? Will they continue with that plan if you go into labour earlier?

mumblebum · 11/07/2011 22:32

Congratulations icelolly I hope you have a good recovery from the Cs.

Hello Georgimama I've been having painful bh for weeks here too so hopefully for you it doesn't mean anything. Wish it did here though!

Orbinator · 11/07/2011 22:50

Hi guys! Must recommend swimming to anyone who's feeling huge and hot. Went today and stayed nearly 2 hours (was a hotel pool and virtually empty apart from a friend and I, plus free Grin !). Did about 6 lengths in total but it really was lovely. Only trouble was getting out and realising how heavy I am now all over again. Quite a shock when you've been weightless!

Hope we all pop soon. I'm scared shiteyless but it's gotta be better than all this heavy skin stretching puffing and panting!

CJayne · 11/07/2011 22:51

Hi everyone! I'm new to mumsnet (unless you count that fact that I registered sometime in 2005 and haven't been on since...!) and am currently 38 weeks with baby number 3.

Fed up? Feeling fat? Lardy? Nauseous? Yes, I bloody am.

I've had BHs since 20 weeks because of an irritable uterous - makes me irritable too - and today my midwife tells me baby is so low that she can only feel his shoulders. Guess what? DP is away so if baby thinks he's going to arrive tonight then he's another think coming...I will use a bucket to plug myself up so he cannot get out.

Tomorrow is fine though lol!

You all seem really lovely so I might just come back on here tomorrow...or maybe in the next 6 years time haha!

CJayne

aStarInStrangeways · 12/07/2011 00:03

icelolly wonderful news, many congratulations :) That's a big bundle of boy to cuddle, hope you are enjoying him

mini you're quite right of course about getting checked, but thankfully this time I haven't had to do so. She's been barging my insides like a one-girl moshpit Grin I totally agree though, always best to get it checked if there's any doubt at all. I have been in for monitoring once already with this pregnancy and everyone was so lovely about it.

babyonbord · 12/07/2011 00:08

I think my baby is going to be one of those rare few born on his due date - today now how long do i let my dh sleep before making him suffer down here with me

babyonbord · 12/07/2011 00:09

debating whether to ring my mum and tell her to expect grandson no 2 on the one hand she told me to ring when i went into labour day or night and she is on holiday right now so not at school tommorrow (she teaches) on the other it is ten past midnight hmmmm

aStarInStrangeways · 12/07/2011 00:19

Ooh, good luck babyonbord!

Orbinator · 12/07/2011 00:21

Oooh Baby how exciting! You are being very patient! I don't even know if i'd recognise labour but if I had anyone else in the house they'd know about it fo'sho!
