Labour must be close because not only am I absolutely starving, exhausted but unable to sleep let alone well!
But I swear if DP's elbow touches my arm one more time I will throttle him!
I cannot stand anyone near me and nearly everything is driving me mad with misery.
I am also highly emotional.

Come moan with me, please bring warm donuts Grin

MrsV just think of all of the lovely attention cakes and well wishes you'll be getting when you squeeze out a perfect little baby. You really can't beat what we are all about to do in terms of getting noticed! Wink

Discovered last night that ExP who is meant to be at the birth has decided to book a hospital app on the day I have my sweep. His app is in Oxford and I live in Kent. Just wondering how long sweeps generally take to work? I'm confident everyone will say different things as we're all indervidual... and I think I hear that it doesn't work all the time/some women take days after to give birth etc. Still a bit miffed but very glad I have a lovely friend/doula who will be with me instead.

Drinking raspberry leaf tea in an effort to hoist myself out of bed for good and join the day. Pub opening to get to so I hope the weather holds :)

4 pushes? Jealous ;-)

Congrats Eli.

Baby Choo still well and truely comfy in there am 39Wks today. My guess was a week 39+4 birth to a baby girl weighing in at 7lbs.12....judging by the fact baby keeps moving back up with a preferences to be born through my windpipe....am guessing my prediction is going to be somewhat wrong.

All I know is that baby is doing handstands on my hips....I think Ive finally got a UTI having avoided them all pregnancy....and that I have no desire to clean yet! Does everyone nest? I know things need doing but cant be bothered....maybe I'll bypass that pre-birth bit Grin

SpannerPants · 09/07/2011 12:42

Congratulations Eli!

My due date is tomorrow and I'm so uncomfortable, I have a knee which keeps poking out of my side and it hurts :(

I'm a complete control freak and like to plan things, so not knowing when labour will start or what exactly will happen is starting to drive me crazy Hmm

minicorrect · 09/07/2011 19:59

Congratulations Eli - very impressed by the 4 pushes!!

Moan time from me - after feeling certain things were quite imminent on Thursday, rushed out and got the last few key items (mattress for donated moses basket, breast pads and another pack of nappies) so I could enjoy a nice quiet day today - bit of weeding, cleaning the downstairs cloakroom and perhaps some baking. However, the world had different ideas. DP had me cleaning the freezer just before midnight last night rather than leave it till today and then went off to game - coming to bed just as I was falling asleep, and then just as I was dropping off again, DD came through. By this time it felt like my coccyx was twisting round and I was convinced I was going to puke but was in too much pain to move so eventually got to sleep. Weeded the front drive this morning as the dandelions and poppies were becoming forest-like. Was then knackered so made lunch and was planning to potter in the kitchen with DD for the afternoon when the workman turned up to do a couple more hours (which is good really). At the same time the neighbours plugged in their huge speakers and ramped up the volume for a party which will probably go on till the early hours - the bass is so loud, some of the new plaster fell off our wall - all windows closed despite the sun being out now! No longer feel that baby is imminent either so just feel a bit sorry for myself and don't even have any Haagen Dazs to console myself with. Going to watch a film to cheer myself up - but having finished watching Biutiful last night, think I'll be looking for something a bit cheerier!!!

Hope everyone else is ok and sorry for the whinge! Really needed to get that out as so wound up!!

mumblebum · 09/07/2011 21:43

Hope you feel better for getting that out minicorrect I'm [hshock] about the plaster coming off your wall! That's baaaad. I was convinced that things were kicking off here over a week ago now, and I'm still here. I'm convinced it's waiting for next weekend just because that would be the worst possible timing!

Orbinator · 09/07/2011 21:58

mini you are so good weeding this late on! My front lawn actually looks like a wilderness with tall grasses and everything! I looked at it, had visions of my wielding a scythe and decided it will just have to wait. Maybe until winter, when it all just dies....

I keep meaning to bake. I have reminders going off on my phone every bloomin' 30 mins or so. I just literally find it too much of a struggle to get up off the bed. Who needs more than the laptop, good book, a couple of loo trips and trips to the kitchen for food? Nothing major left to do though so I guess subconsciously I'm on holiday until she arrives Wink

JimmyChoo17 · 09/07/2011 23:26

Am feeling a little scared this evening...sent message ti friend this morning as dreamt she had gone into labour but took up the hospital gear with her and I went into labour straiht after and couldn't go in because of her (you know how these things make sense in your sleep!) anyway...back to real life...she text back and she had gone into labour during the night!!!

So with my new found psychic ability now...I'm wondering whether I'm about to pop! She had her girl about an hour or so ago now.

Even worse....she stole my girl name! Grrrrr!

Scary to think can go at any moment.

For those of u have birthed already.....will you have had some pre warning before the major birth things happen? (waters, contractions etc)

MrsVidic · 10/07/2011 07:00

Pre labour signs for me last time:
Big dose of the runs
Show

buttonmoon78 · 10/07/2011 07:11

Mini and for anyone else interested - Haagen Daaz is currently £2 a (large) tub in Asda. I might have snuck a couple in yesterday Grin

mumblebum · 10/07/2011 08:29

Spooky jimmychoo I don't really remember any signs before my last one. I got a show a day or two before my first.

Thanks for the public service announcement there buttonmoon Grin

nicolamumof3 · 10/07/2011 08:41

morning all!

party day for ds2, no iminent signs here, im quite chilled about it as have a busy few days now.

I've always had a show before going into labour. Think i have a UTI too, am waiting for test results.

Hang in there everyone..not much else can be done tho anyway can it lol!!

Oh and i had a dream that i went into labour and had a bOY! I called him a name that dh and I don't like so his response was thats hardly going to happen is it??

JimmyChoo17 · 10/07/2011 09:11

Going to drs to test for UTI tomorrow. I am still getting that tugging pain but not as often but peeing lots more than my usual preg peeing! I usually get other symptoms with a UTI but suppose it's better to get checked out.

Since stopping work (only thurs) I've started putting on more weight.....it's definitely the easier access to being able to get any food and eat at will at home that bumps up weight!!! Choc cookies, ice cream oh and yummy choc buttons....maybe I should have stayed on at work until I popped.

Man I'm hungry....

Orbinator · 10/07/2011 11:42

Hi everyone! I had a funny old dream last night and just have to share it. I was back in Australia still travelling around and this really hot guy suggested we Blush you know...so I (being my younger 21 yr old self, un-pregnated, bronzed, slim and toned) agreed and went to get myself freshened up. As I get to the bathroom I suddenly remember I have piles Shock. Debate pushing them in and decide that for a brief fling I probably shouldn't care, besides, what are the chances of him going near there anyway? Then I panic that they have got bigger but somehow I can't quite get to them to check them properly...something is in the way...can't quite turn around....look down, and there it is. The giant basketball belly. I look in the mirror and just think "fuck. How am I going to explain that one...!"

JimmyChoo17 · 10/07/2011 11:46

Haha love pregnancy dreams!!

3become4 · 10/07/2011 15:20

It was the start of things for me. Sweep 10.30 am Fri, DD2 9.15am on Saturday! Just 90 mins after getting to hospital too.

Congrats/good luck to everyone else.

mumblebum · 10/07/2011 15:35

Well done 3become4 congratulations! Time for more cake then Grin. I hope my sweep on Thursday works that well, if I get that far, which I hope I don't...

JimmyChoo17 · 10/07/2011 15:48

Congratulations 3!!!

SpannerPants · 10/07/2011 16:04

Congratulations 3becomes4!

I had some quite painful contractions earlier - while walking round Asda of all places, had to stop and lean on the trolley and breathe through them. I got quite excited and put my TENS machine on when I got home then cleaned the house from top to bottom and now they've stopped Envy

I'm knackered now so I'm going for a lie down! But at least I have a clean house.

Orbinator · 10/07/2011 16:12

Congratulations 3becomes4! I've my sweep Friday so fingers crossed! Was it painful?

Jimmy, I don't usually have erotic dreams, sadly. Woke up from this one feeling a bit miffed to say the least!

Spanner - bummer about the contractions. I find I get very strong pains when I walk around but not if I chill out. Haven't tried my TENS yet either, and quite excited. Did it help? Must have done if you did the cleaning! Good luck with that and keep us updated, might be the start of something!

minicorrect · 10/07/2011 17:12

Congratulations 3becomes4! Hope all went well and you're enjoying precious time with your newborn! Just had some homemade chocolate cake to celebrate - mmmmmmm! Glad to have an excuse!

Thanks for the tip Button - did buy some last week but obviously that's well and truly gone now - and always have to fight DP to allow me to get more (I'm NEVER sensible about ice cream on offer and would have a freezer full if I was on my own!).

No erotic dreams here yet - had quite a few early on which is very unusual for me - was even getting them when I was falling asleep on the train to work. Not ideal timing really!!!!

Have sorted through all the piles of paperwork cluttering up every room today and finished cleaning the bathroom (as well as baking the cake) but still have ironing to do, bed to change and cot to put up. But feeling too knackered now to do anything - just snuggled up with DD while she watches her daily dose of Peppa! We're meant to be taking her swimming tomorrow but I don't think my swimsuits will fit anymore - it was tight when I tried aquanatal in April so must be kidding myself. Not sure if a bikini is appropriate at a swimming pool though - fine for the beach but different inside. Will feel very self-conscious too with the other ladies there. Maybe I should pop upstairs and see if I can squeeze into either cossie!

Things here definitely settled down now - but getting kitchen floor done Tues and Weds so probably a good thing. Back aches still (but all the bending over pulling up weeds yesterday probably didn't help!) but even my tummy has settled down now - and no reflux from chocolate cake which is unusual.

Last time my waters broke and that was it for me - pain within 20 mins. No other signs that I remember before that though Hmm

3become4 · 10/07/2011 23:14

Thanks all. I did find the sweep a bit painful but definitely worth it not to be induced like last time. This birth couldn't have gone better really. Now to persuade her to sleep somewhere other than on me...!

MummyTigger · 10/07/2011 23:39

Hi all :) 39 dead on and feeling like this week may just go on forever!

Got a meeting with the consultant this Wednesday (again!!) to assess my options. They may want to give me a sweep, but I don't want to kick off labour before Friday because I've got Harry Potter tickets!! It's my final little bit of enjoyment, and god-help the doctors who try and take it away from me. Besides, tickets are non-refundable xD

They may induce me early because of the strain baby is putting on my hip. It's gotten so bad now my right hip is suffering because I'm relying on it so much! I look like House!!

buttonmoon78 · 11/07/2011 07:31

Congratulations 3!

mumblebum · 11/07/2011 07:45

Urgh, lots of painful BH last night kept me awake until gone 3am then faded away. So I'm very tired, aching, and still no sign of baby. This weekend is full on with end of term stuff with the kids. I just know I'm going to end up with my sweep on Thursday setting off labour just in time to miss everything!

prolificwillybreeder · 11/07/2011 08:52

Me too mumblebum! I had awful back ache too. Got my hopes up then now nothing!
DS is still blooming not sleeping either.
I am grumpy! These BH's hurt and go right down um...there if you know what I mean?
And it's hot today and I need to do the food shop.

Hope everyone else is ok.
Congratulations 3! ah it will all be our turn soon. Though right now it feels like I will be like this forever!
