Labour must be close because not only am I absolutely starving, exhausted but unable to sleep let alone well!
But I swear if DP's elbow touches my arm one more time I will throttle him!
I cannot stand anyone near me and nearly everything is driving me mad with misery.
I am also highly emotional.

Come moan with me, please bring warm donuts Grin

Oh this preg thing really isn't much fun, I've been sick this morning too and now feel too full after a small lunch. I want this baby out already

verysmellyeli · 08/07/2011 12:16

Well I am finally being induced on day 13 overdue. Not going well so far. No beds on labour ward so stuck on ante natal having endless traces and bp monitoring but no bloody contractions! Very bored and nervous. Hopefully will get second pessary soon and things will kick off...........

Icelollycraving · 08/07/2011 13:03

Being induced tonight, had some contractions over the last 24 hours but very erratic. Feeling a little anti climatic actually that it's being started for me. Going out for lunch in a min with my husband as I'm going in at 6 (unless they are too busy) & plan on eating a lot!

3become4 · 08/07/2011 13:56

Moan alert! I turned up for my 9.30am midwife appointment this morning but they had no record of my appointment in their books. Luckily they had no one else either and as it was in my notes they slotted me in. They didn't bother to tell me the midwife hadn't turned up though. She finally turned up at 10.20! Her excuse was (understandably I guess) that she had been told her first appointment was at 10. But didn't quite explain how she still saw fit to turn up 20 mins later than that. Luckily she didn't rush my appointment but I felt awful for the woman who arrived at 10 with a toddler in tow (mine was at home with DH thankfully) who didn't get in until I left at 11!

Anyway, had a sweep which was horrid but apparently baby is fully or 2/5 engaged (she said both Confused ) and before the sweep I was 1.5cm dilated. She reckons she stretched me to about 2.5cm and my cervix is 90% effaced I think. So it seems like things are moving in the right direction. Apparently I can ask the hospital for a 2nd sweep if necessary but failing that I've been booked in for induction on 14th when I'll be 40+10. I thought I could insist on going to 42 weeks but she said that is the hospital policy. Have others been told similar?

On a plus DD has decided she DOES need a nap today (after a bit of a bad night) so I'm getting some peace and quiet now - just hope this doesn't mean we'll have a nightmare bedtime. Guess I ought to wake her up after an hour or so but she's always in such a filthy mood when I do that...

buttonmoon78 · 08/07/2011 13:56

Good luck both!

aStarInStrangeways · 08/07/2011 14:01

Good luck to all those being induced! And all you lurking babies, it's time to COME ON DOWN Grin

mumblebum · 08/07/2011 14:36

Good luck with the inductions. I keep thinking that at least if I get that far I won't need to panic about getting to the hospital in time. Was a bit close for comfort last time.

MummyTigger · 08/07/2011 15:17

Good luck all those with inductions :D

And just to keep everyone updated: saw my consultant today, who measured me at 45cm. Felt the baby, and said that yes, he is in fact quite big, so I have to go to my local hospital rather than the birthing centre I was hoping for. Oh well!

They've booked me in for an appointment next week to discuss my options, and after the woman saw the way I'm limping (bloody baby pushing on my hip. Little sod!!) she did say she may give me the opportunity for an induction at dead-on 40 weeks.

At least baby is still ok for a VB. Don't think I like the idea of a CS!!

mumblebum · 08/07/2011 16:08

Sounds like quite a good appointment then MT are you feeling a bit happier about it?

I've decided I can't go into labour now because DS is too ill :(. I need another couple of days to be sure he's well (he's wheezing so we've got inhalers and steroids as well as AB's and on high alert to take him in if he gets worse).

nicolamumof3 · 08/07/2011 16:34

afternoon all.

another one suffering hot fat feet here!

no sign of baby here, but then again i am 'only' 38+6 so what do i expect!!

Lots on next few days too, so hope the time passes quickly

Hope those being induced do well x

MummyTigger · 08/07/2011 18:17

Yes actually, feeling a bit better about it :D Got over the initial shock of not having a water birth, but have decided that this is better. Especially since at the hospital they will more than likely keep me in for observation, as opposed to the midwife-led centre I had chosen to deliver in where it's "here's your baby, we'll leave you a few hours but you can't stay longer than necessary". Am looking forward to winding down a little bit after the birth rather than just scampering home.

Hot fat feet seem to be a must right now. I'm living in my stepdad's crocs, because my shoes don't fit!

Nicola just keep counting the days. That's what I'm doing - I'm taking great satisfaction in ticking off each day as it passes!!

3become4 · 08/07/2011 20:09

Yep, good luck with the inductions.

I think things might be starting here. Am having constant period type pain following my sweep this morning. Wasn't really expecting it though. Does that sound normal to anyone? It can't be contractions as it just isn't going away.

Thought I wanted to get things going but a bit nervous now!

Beccabop · 08/07/2011 20:59

Im 36+3 and bloody sick. Bump too uncomfortable and squirminess really starting to hurt, wouldnt mind a 38week-cooked bab :)

aStarInStrangeways · 08/07/2011 21:41

Oh yes, the squirming on your hip bones...eeek.

JimmyChoo17 · 08/07/2011 21:54

Not just me then with baby attempting to burrow out my hip socket then!

Ladies, do you know when baby's head is engaged (without being told I mean)

nicolamumof3 · 08/07/2011 22:19

you can normally feel it jimmy when the head is right down, always felt like the baby was going to literally fall out to me !!

3 become, could just be niggling somethign sounds like its happening tho..good luck!

Icelollycraving · 09/07/2011 00:20

Well, here I am. Was due to come in at 5 then put back to 730. Had pessary at about 945,so we will see. Started to drift off but the woman next to me is snoring like a pig......don't think I would get away with kicking her like I do if my dh snores. Hope she shuts up at some stage :(

verysmellyeli · 09/07/2011 06:59

Cake anyone?
Baby smelly born in the early hours after second pessary. Four pushes only! (by god I knew about them though.....) after 4 hours of active labour. She is gorgeous!!!

Good luck to all those still waiting - it is sooooo worth it!

aStarInStrangeways · 09/07/2011 07:01

Yay eli! How wonderful, many congratulations :)

mumblebum · 09/07/2011 07:05

Congratulations eli!

Icelollycraving · 09/07/2011 08:03

Wow! Congratulations!! 4 pushes? That has made me feel a bit better :)

nicolamumof3 · 09/07/2011 08:45

yay congrats! All these babies how lovely x

MrsVidic · 09/07/2011 09:38

Congrats Eli- 4 pushes that makes me feel optomistic!

I am being thouroughly unreasonable today and I can help myself Sad

dp organised to watch cricket- an annual even with his mates and he will be gone all day. I am so upset he has gone (I dont feel well and really would have liked him to give me a hand with dd- 2 yrs old). He has been doing loads of extra hours at work recently due to a semi promotion and i feel like I am the least important thing in his life right now. (totally unwarrented but I do!)

I hate being this fat and not being able to take my dd to the park chasing after a football as per usual due to the shitty weather!
I supporse I want him to worry about my feelings for a change but no, he just doesnt think about that. Fair enough as I say 'fine' when he asks how I am feeling but I'm not.

Also with DD trying to push her luck at the moment and testing bounderies I'm feeling like the emotional wipping boy of the house!

Enough about my moods- how is everyone else feeling?

prolificwillybreeder · 09/07/2011 09:41

Ooh cake time! Congratulations! 4 pushes, well done!

Well nothing to report here! I am bored! Was very teary yesterday and just felt like I couldn't cope, had minor panic. Thankfully some chocolate and ice cream later I feel ok again.

Had more regular BH's last few days but doubt it means anything.

How is everyone else? It's wkend! I'm just happy that DP is here to help with DS but DP has moaned a couple of times about his tiredness. HIS tiredness what about MY tiredness? I haven't injured him yet [proud emotion]

congratulations eli Im not [henvy] at all so pleased for you! 4 pushes? That certainly gives me hope!
Got a 40th Birthday party to go tonight, so lets hope that "sprout" decides that mummy shouldn't be getting dressed up to go out!!!
