Labour must be close because not only am I absolutely starving, exhausted but unable to sleep let alone well!
But I swear if DP's elbow touches my arm one more time I will throttle him!
I cannot stand anyone near me and nearly everything is driving me mad with misery.
I am also highly emotional.

Come moan with me, please bring warm donuts Grin

lou congratulations! Fabulous name and well done you for birthing such a big baby Shock)

Orbinator how rubbish for you, sending virtual hugs and ice cream :(

3become4 you sound like me. DS is 2.10 and thankfully pretty easygoing, but I just don't have the energy to do ANYTHING atm. Have just snoozed my way through half of Cars while he plays quietly nearby Blush I'm also getting the jelly legs thing, lots of BH and some period pains. God, I hope it means this baby's getting ready to come, because I feel like dried-up horse shit.

Orbinator · 07/07/2011 15:05

Thanks Astar - just had call from MW who said e-coli is gone! Not sure what her testing kit had wrong with it the day before then! Very relieved not to have another course of antiB's Grin
Oh and my fingers are easing up now so I'm feeling much more chipper. Maybe it's the virtual ice cream Wink
Anyone else worrying about seemingly tiny things? I'm worrying about whether I should get lots of cake in for MW's (HB) as well as what to put her in when she gets here...do they bring a sheet/blanket for the very first swaddle/wipedown? I have old towels on standby but they are old for a reason - not very soft etc, so wouldn't want her rubbed down with one of them....crazy things to worry about, I know!!!

aStarInStrangeways · 07/07/2011 15:06

I believe getting lots of cake in for mws (and you) is considered the done thing with HBs Grin

Orbinator · 07/07/2011 15:28

Oh goody! I shall arrange a delivery of shopping consisting entirely of cake and chocolate then :)

mumblebum · 07/07/2011 15:43

Congrats to loubuch09 well done!

SpannerPants you might want to get checked for a UTI if it doesn't ease up soon.

Still no sign of baby here. I think it's staying put until it gets turfed out!

3become4 · 07/07/2011 16:40

We do sound alike aStar - my DD has just given up her afternoon nap so the other day I had to stick her in front of CBeebies after lunch for a long little while so I could have a nap on the sofa. I felt so guilty when I finally dragged myself upright and she excitedly exclaimed "Mummy wide awake!". Totally feel like dried-up horse shit too! When are you due? Or has your due date been and gone as well?

nicolamumof3 · 07/07/2011 17:24

had mw today, all ok, tho suspects uti, measuring spot on, head no where near engaged tho not worried about that this is no.4 after all. booked me to come back at 40+4 I hope i don't make it that far tho.

Just been to waitrose got yummy chocolate cake for myself!

nicolamumof3 · 07/07/2011 17:25

oh and some bottom butter! I loved this for ds3, smells devine, got some more nappies so plenty now to be going on with for the first few weeks i hope.

aStarInStrangeways · 07/07/2011 17:32

3 I'm not due till 1st August, but really hoping she decides to pop out earlier than that. What a time for your DD to stop napping, you have my sympathies. DS dropped his before I even got pregnant so at least I had a bit of adjustment time...and boy, did I need it.

chaosisawayoflife · 07/07/2011 18:11

Hi everyone. I've been lurking on this thread but not posted yet as I'm usually on my phone and find typing on that a pain. I'm 39+4 and really fed up now. This is DC2, DD was born at 40+1 and for some reason I was expecting to go earlier this time. I'm a lot more uncomfortable than I was last time, lots more braxton hicks, agonising hip pain and lots of pain across the bottom of my bump. Back is also sore today. Bunged up nose, hideous piles, not sleeping and generally got the grumps. I've been trying to keep upbeat for DDs sake but by the afternoon I'm really struggling and getting short tempered with her, which isn't fair. Every morning when I wake up still pregnant I dread the day ahead, isn't that awful.

mumblebum · 07/07/2011 18:29

Hello chaos I know what you mean about waking up still pregnant. Both my other two labour started in the morning and woke me up. So when I wake up not in labour my heart sinks.

MummyTigger · 07/07/2011 19:14

Alright, I've moaned about this on AIBU, but I'm going to moan about it on here too.

mumblebum · 07/07/2011 19:38

Fundal height isn't that accurate no. Different people will get different measurements at the same time. At my 36 week appt the student measured me as 36 the consultant as 38. At 40 weeks (well 39+6 yesterday) a different student measured me as 44 (eep) then the MW measured me twice and made it 42.5 and 41.5 so settled on 42. There are so many variables. I think this is why they only use it as a guide to indicate it's worth investigating further, rather than as an absolute iyswim. But then everything I've read on forums over the years makes me doubt the scans rather as well so I don't know what I'd think in your position really.

Do you feel like the baby is big? I think this one is pretty big and the MW does too Confused.

Orbinator · 07/07/2011 19:42

I heard scans are rarely accurate and usually add weight on. My MW said they don't bother referring for sizing scans now as so many 7Ib'ers were born after being confirmed at 9Ib + on the scan they decided it was more worry to the mum than it was worth. I guess if you heard it was to be 10Ib's you may think twice about just using gas and air at home for example!

My MW just keeps commenting on how LONG the baby is...apparently this can be worse pain-wise than the weight :(

MummyTigger · 07/07/2011 20:43

Oh trust me... this baby ain't dainty!! He's absolutely massive. Feels sodding humungous. Every time he moves, my bump almost explodes. And my stretchmark count has almost tripled. It's madness!

I'm trying not to stress too much. But it's difficult - I don't want a monster baby that tears me in two...

3become4 · 07/07/2011 20:46

Thanks aStar - she isn't really coping without her naps either - she's getting so overtired and tricky - so we're both struggling! Fingers crossed for an early arrival for you!

Totally know what you're talking about chaos - I've been really short tempered with my DD too. Sounds like you're having a tough time though so I don't blame you (and I'm sure she doesn't either!).

I'm kind of hoping to wake up in labour too now as otherwise I have a sweep tomorrow morning which I really am not looking forward to. I found it so painful last time...

mumblebum · 07/07/2011 20:46

Yeah I know that feeling! Well then I guess you know all you need to know then really don't you. It's big. I suppose the question is what you want to do about it? Do you want them to induce you early? FWIW I have heard that big babies aren't necessarily harder to give birth to. As counter intuitive as that sounds. My last one was over 8lbs, which I know isn't huge but I'm less than 5 ft tall, and he came out easily enough Grin. I think this one is bigger though...

aStarInStrangeways · 07/07/2011 20:50

3 it is hard - my DS definitely took a fair few weeks to adjust to the change. He didn't need his naps anymore, in the long term, but there was still a period of time when he needed 'down time' to stop him and me going completely bonkers. I used to put a nice calm DVD on so he could chill out on the sofa for a bit. How times change - now I'm doing that for me Grin

buttonmoon78 · 07/07/2011 23:07

My biggest baby was my easiest. She was a whisker off 9lb (so not enormous in the grand scheme of things) but she was def easier to get out than ds who was a 7lb tiddler.

mumblebum · 08/07/2011 07:25

Still here :( really had enough now.

prolificwillybreeder · 08/07/2011 09:52

Oh mumble! :(
Hurry up mini-mumble mummy-mumble is waiting!

Not much to report here had lots of BH last night and feel bit on and off this morning but I'm not getting my hopes up!
Trying to persuade DS to nap- not happening. Had roughly 4 hours sleep last night, am exhausted!

Does anyone else have permanently hot feet? It's really annoying me!

OP posts:
tadd · 08/07/2011 10:32

5 days overdue now and no sign of "sprout".
PWB....hot feet, i know what you mean. Plus getting fed up with only being able to fit flipflops on, not easy waddling in flipflops when its raining!
Was expecting "sprout" to think about making an appearance when DP started to bring the Silage in.....he started yesterday and nothing!!!!
Got my second sweep booked for Monday, wont be be a happy bunny if i have to go through with it, i really don't want to be induced!! Sad

buttonmoon78 · 08/07/2011 10:34

My feet are like hot water bottles at all times! It's v annoying. I can't even fit them in flip flops now - just birkies on the widest setting. I never did get any crocs. Couldn't bring myself to!

buttonmoon78 · 08/07/2011 10:53

Urgh - and I keep burping up little bits of sick this morning. I must admit to being a little bit phobic about being sick (good job I've never had MS!) so the constant taste in my mouth is gross and a bit freaky! My teeth are going to rot away as I'm constantly popping them in the attempt to take the taste away.

Sorry - TMI Blush

But it's not fair - I thought once a baby was engaged it was meant to ease the pressure on your stomach not increase it?

Moan moan moan...

mumblebum · 08/07/2011 11:17

Yy to hot feet. I'm lucky they aren't swollen but bump is so big I can't reach to put anything other than fit flops on. They are comfy but my feet do get sweaty in them atm, not a problem I've ever had before.

Managed a bit of a snooze this morning but still tired fed up and feeling slightly sick. Bleugh.
