Labour must be close because not only am I absolutely starving, exhausted but unable to sleep let alone well!
But I swear if DP's elbow touches my arm one more time I will throttle him!
I cannot stand anyone near me and nearly everything is driving me mad with misery.
I am also highly emotional.

Come moan with me, please bring warm donuts Grin

Sorry ladies, just thought of another question!

I'm always slightly leaking a little bit of pee these days despite doing pelvic floor exercises for months :( unless I break my waters in a big whoosh then go in2, which I know just doesn't happen, how will I know if my waters have broken?

mumblebum · 01/07/2011 19:27

My waters went in a big gush during labour both times. It does happen. If you aren't sure I think they can check though.

kalo12 · 01/07/2011 19:39

mw told me if it smells like wee chances are it is wee!

MrsVidic are you still having sex over a birthing ball? Could that be the reason for your breathlessness? (or am i mixing you up with someone else?) Smile

Lolly1985 · 01/07/2011 19:43

Thanks mumblebum

Ok I really really need to join you all. 36 weeks on Sunday but feeling so fed up and miserable I even just considered throwing myself down the stairs. Too tired to be pregnant but too tired to have a newborn too!!!

Finished work 2 weeks ago and have spent that time doing our kitchen up - had to get 3 coats of paint on before this Weds when the workmen came to take out the old kitchen and install the new one. Feels like I've not stopped though. I'm averaging about 4 hours sleep a night - usually woken by DD1 getting into bed with us sometime after midnight and then can't get back to sleep until she wakes up properly around 6am. Have also had to keep popping out to choose kitchen stuff as DP keeps changing mind about everything we'd chosen so that's been frustrating too. Plus I thought it would be finished by today, but turns out the workman'll be back tomorrow - I assume (and pray) to finish off. And the tap that we expected to be delivered today hasn't turned up yet - waited in for it all day as it should be between 7am and 9pm. So tomorrow we'll have to fit everything in we didn't today. And at this rate will be looking for a tap somewhere as well.

My SPD is niggling away, I feel achey all over, every time baby moves it seems to trap a nerve in my right leg which makes me cry out in pain and I keep getting cramps, nausea and tummy upsets. Plus it feels like the baby is trying to escape through my bum and cervix alternately which is also very painful. DD just will not sleep at all - and the one day this week when she might have taken a long nap, the workman had his 4 year old niece over for a couple of hours so I had to entertain her instead of taking a nap like I'd planned to.

Now because I hadn't realised we'd still be without a kitchen tonight, we've got absolutely nothing to eat and I have to go out and pick up a takeaway even though the thought of it makes me want to cry. DP is in a foul mood too as DD is messing about and won't go to sleep and I'm whinging about being tired and hungry but not wanting to go out.

Ok - do I qualify?! AAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nicplus1and1baking · 01/07/2011 20:25

I am sooooo joining
LOL @ mini correct, i am sooo with u hun in the last 12 weeks we have totally re done our house and i mean totally from new windows/central heating/ new kitchen / nocking walls down a 3 room extension - need i go on lol

Anyway am currently 38plus 1, fat, fed up, sick of needig to pee, sick of the shooting pains n my faff Grin, you get the gist..

nicolamumof3 · 01/07/2011 20:46

we are a happy old bunch aren't we Grin

37+6 here, feeling strangely calm and chilled and not minding my huge bump atm...weird. But maybe its a sign somethings going to happen (seriously doubts it!!)

firstsupermum · 01/07/2011 21:06

I am 38 weeks this monday, really want the baby to came out, cant wait, due on the 17th july but hope to give a birth before, i am tired waiting.
i also want to see the reaction of my DS1 when he will see his brother Smile.
oh, that will be great.

kalo12 · 01/07/2011 22:27

minicorrect, i feel for you but i'm also advising you to get in to a zen state because you might have another 5-6 weeks to go and you don't want to peak too early!!

MummyTigger · 01/07/2011 22:53

Is anyone else having to deal with a completely obsessive partner?!

He's driving me mental, the poor bloke. I know it's because he cares, and I'm happy as heck for it! But does he really need to put on the panicky-face with the massive doe eyes and the eyebrows to the ceiling and go "ARE YOU OK?! EVERYTHING ALRIGHT?!" every time I have the slightest twinge?

Poor bloke is so highly strung I think he's going to have a heart attack when my waters finally go! He'll be the bloody one on Gas & Air, the silly sausage ;)

buttonmoon78 · 01/07/2011 23:07

Mine's the opposite MummyT - couldn't give a stuff! Actually that's not true - he is an amazing birth partner he just won't stress about it until I say 'this is it'.

And it's true - he is amazing. I can string a sentence together purely out of swear words and he can interpret from that what I really mean!

Have been taking the oil of evening primrose now for about a week. About to ramp it up and double the oral dose and start using them as a pessary too. Even if it doesn't start labour off, the fact that it might help when they induce me (by ripening the cervix) is enough to make me think it's worth a try!

nicolamumof3 · 01/07/2011 23:10

lol button mine is the same, been there done that so he just takes all my huffing puffing moaning and groaning with a pinch of salt he will know when its the real deal...i think?!

MrsVidic · 02/07/2011 07:43

Kalo Grin no not this week anyway- not really in the mood

My Dp is of the not too bothered variety- he thinks cause I was fine with dd it's easy for me. As everyone kept telling him how easy my birth was compared to theirs last time Hmm I was only 6 hours though

The breathing is not too bad today and I plan to do a massive walk to burn off the pizza I had for tea last night. My dd is getting really into going for walks and is now instructing me to go faster up hills so she can see the horses in the fields. Its like having a personal trainer!

JimmyChoo17 · 02/07/2011 11:31

I had THE most best undisturbed deep sleep last night. I almost cried when I woke up. I'm posting this because u guys will know how amazing an occurrence that is where as my non pregnant childless friend told me how boring a statement that was.....Hmm she'll find out one day....

Baby shower today! Looking forward to it now. How are we all today?

Loving this sunshine. Not unbearably hot either.

JimmyChoo17 · 02/07/2011 11:33

Oooo ps 38 weeks today and I think baby has dropped a little and I can't work out if I'm less breathless but still a little breathless due to being unfit since the waddling kicked in!

Can babies drop gradually rather Ghana a full big highly noticeable drop?

JimmyChoo17 · 02/07/2011 11:45

Ghana??? "Rather than a..."

Lolly1985 · 02/07/2011 13:40

jimmychoo17 have a nice baby shower, mine is on Thursday

buttonmoon r u just taking evening primrose oil tablets? Has any1 tried raspberry leaf tea and had any success?

37 weeks 2moro, the baby is due the day b4 our wedding anniversary. Does it seem really selfish if I say I was hoping 2 keep that day just 4 me and hubby and not always have 2 spend it entertaining loads of kids at a birthday party?

LadyGoneGaga · 02/07/2011 20:38

Lolly RLT won't bring on or hasten labour. It does act as a uterine tonic though meaning it should make your contractions more effective when you do go into labour but won't bring it on. I've been drinking it from 32 weeks and gradually building the amount up.

I'm 37 weeks tomorrow too! Grin Don't worry, it is unlikely that baby will come on that day (although sod's law says it will....)

nicolamumof3 · 02/07/2011 20:57

Lolly i have so many dates coming up next three weeks!!

due date obviously 16th, but ds3's fourth birthday party on the 10th, and his actual bday on the 13th, our wedding anniv on the 18th. Will be bound to be one of those dates won't it!!

MummyTigger · 02/07/2011 22:08

I know I post on here more than any other post full-stop, but is anyone else thinking that the midwife may have got the due date wrong?

I've tried several of those Due Date Calculators, including the Mumsnet one. And they all give me a due date of at least a week before my Midwife-provided EDD!

So I'm wondering if, instead of being 37+5, I'm actually 38+5? Also had a growth scan last week, and at "36weeks" everything was measuring at least 37+3.

Anyone else had experience of that? And if so, how do you express your concerns to the MW? Especially as I have a LOVELY MW, and I don't want to try and tell her how to do her job...

LadyGoneGaga · 02/07/2011 22:17

MummyTigger your EDD will be based on your 12 week dating scan rather than your LMP? Were you charting at all? Do you have a regular cycle?

mumblebum · 02/07/2011 22:21

Actually I have a theory that my last baby was a week "early" because they had the dates wrong. Certainly he was a good size and well cooked (peeling skin etc.) when he arrived. With my first she arrived on the date I had calculated from charting and knowing when I ovulated. Sadly this time, if anything, I think the date I've been given may be a bit early but I don't actually know because I was very half heartedly charting and don't have enough info.

MummyTigger · 02/07/2011 22:26

LadyGoneGaga I kept general track of them, and they were on a 26-day cycle, but I wasn't deliberately 'charting' or trying to conceive - it just sort of happened without us even realising! I liked to keep track of my periods simply because I never knew when they were going to happen. They just sort of... did! And I hated getting caught out with a gush of bleeding and then agonising cramps with no pads or paracetamol in sight. But I never kept track of my ovulation.

It could all, of course, be a big load of bollocks wishful thinking on my behalf, as I'm just desperate to meet my son now, as is my partner. So it could be I'm just clinging to vain hope that I may see him earlier than predicted!

Lolly1985 · 02/07/2011 22:57

Yeah, if I went from the 1st day of my last period then I'm due in 3 days but my dating scan says the 24th! That's the date u have 2 go with though coz they measure the size of the head and base it on that.
Sounds sad but I really wanna see the harry potter film on the 15th and DH is sure that that's the day I'm gonna go!

MummyTigger · 02/07/2011 23:20

LOL @ Lolly1985

My due date is 18th July. We have our HP tickets booked. Oh, and by the way? It's a full moon too, which is rumoured to affect pregnancy waters. I'll either go then, or go on the following Wednesday - which is The Apprentice finale!

"Hiya, we've got two tickets booked for Harry Potter? Um..... sorry, that would be my waters. I'll replace the carpet for you. Hope the film is good, see you when it's over!"
