Labour must be close because not only am I absolutely starving, exhausted but unable to sleep let alone well!
But I swear if DP's elbow touches my arm one more time I will throttle him!
I cannot stand anyone near me and nearly everything is driving me mad with misery.
I am also highly emotional.

Come moan with me, please bring warm donuts Grin

MrsVidic · 30/06/2011 13:51

I feel like asking the mw to induce me when i hit 37 weeks on account I just cant be arsed anymore- think if I plead she'll do it? Grin

thought not!
I too am feeling the pain today and I have 5 weeks left! 5 freaking weeks! Feels like a life time!

SerenaJoy · 30/06/2011 14:33

Oof. Went in first thing this morning and had another sweep, and got the pessary, then they sent me home for 24 hours to wait for things to happen. I went to sleep for a while as I was a bit crampy and sore after all the midwife's fiddling about, and just got woken up by what i think are contractions, so seems like things are maybe starting...

Just thinking about getting the TENS machine on, i've read it's more effective the earlier you start using it, is there such a thing as too early?!

tadd · 30/06/2011 15:15

Good Luck SerenaJoy Got my fingers crossed for you! I hope things go well!
Im off to poo pick my horses field to see if that gets the little toad shifting!

mumblebum · 30/06/2011 16:24

Good luck Serenajoy sounds promising.

rooks14 · 30/06/2011 18:11

prolificwillybreeder · 30/06/2011 20:08

Hi all, good luck serena! It does sound promising.
Come on in rooks!
I'm so bored and fed up now, you are so right pregnancy is just that little bit too long.

I am too big and too sore now.
How is everyone doing?

Lolly1985 · 30/06/2011 21:31

Ahh serenajoy good luck!

I'm 36+4 and have had spd symptoms since 24 weeks. Until 17 weeks I was being sick up to 25 times per day :( feel like this child is using my bladder as a stressball, got dreadful acid reflux, feel sick after every meal, feel like I have a foot permanently stuck under my ribs and now the little sod is moving loads and it hurts every time! I'm feeling so whiney! I don't think my bump looks all that big either but the midwife says it seems ok, every1 else I've seen at my stage looks enormous!
The frustrating thing is that the babys room isn't gonna b ready for another week or so coz the carpet isn't here yet so as miserable as I am I have 2 hang on!!!

This is my 1st baby (never again!!!) And I'm trying not 2 whinge 2 my hubby or family and friends so I'm sorry u ladies just got an ear full!
I'm not really nervous about the birth though because I haven't got any pain experiences 2 compare with.

Good luck to the rest of you ladies and I hope you all have your healthy babies soon :) xxx

buttonmoon78 · 30/06/2011 21:50

It's what we're all here for lolly - an unashamed whinge!

mumblebum · 30/06/2011 22:15

I hope it feels better having a whinge lolly. The advantage of having done this before is that I know a) it'll all be worth it and b) this grimness will fade to a dim and distant memory. Still helps to have a moan though!

kalo12 · 30/06/2011 23:03

good luck serenajoy, 38+5 now but as it's cooled down a bit i can hold out for a few more days.

Lolly1985 · 01/07/2011 01:35

I just looked in the mirror naked and have revised opinion of bump size, I'm now kinda wondering how I'm gonna get this little darling out safely! Just watched 1 born every minute USA and am now freaking out about shoulder dystocia. Hubby warned me about watching scary birth programmes :(

MrsVidic · 01/07/2011 07:09

lolly OBEM USA is an awful programme and is made more dramatic for the cameras. The mw's etc have a completley different approach in the UK and I would say its completley pointless watching it. I watched the first episode and switched off half way through.
Pregnancy is awful, to be honest I dont find labour that bad personally and feel fine in 24 hours after the birth. Yeah sleep deprivation makes you tired but for those of us who have a hard time being preg it pales in comparison. I remember being on the labuot ward a few hours after having dd astounded at how great I felt now I wasnt preg anymore.

Is there a point where breathlessness becomes worrying in preg? I am so breathl;ess I keep going dizzy and feel like shite

LadyGoneGaga · 01/07/2011 07:52

MrsV I felt like this a couple of weeks ago. Not so bad now I feel like baby has dropped a bit. Still not engaged though.

I am going to have an unabashed whinge. (Hello everyone by the way). This has been worst pregnancy ever. DS no probs at all. This one SPD from 20 weeks, anaemia, and now, thrillingly, Gestational Diabetes. Oh and baby was already 6lb 9oz at 34 weeks! Have had to abandon home birth plans and they are debating putting me on insulin as apparently am not eating enough - really?!! .

I turn 37 weeks on Sunday, we move house on Monday and then am commencing Project Eviction! Grin At least DP will start getting some again...he's had a bit of a dry spell lately Wink

MrsVidic · 01/07/2011 07:59

the thing is the baby was 3/5 engaged at last mw appt and 4/5 the appt before that- and as im small they said it shouldnt pop out- so should i be this breathless?
I am usually fit- still go gym 3 times a week and swim so dont think its a fitness thing?
has anyone else suffered a Blush prolapse this preg? Apparently I have s slight (I think its massive) one and feel like I'm falling apart!

buttonmoon78 · 01/07/2011 08:01

Mrs V I'm sure I read (so feel free to ignore as I'm probably dreaming this!) that it can be a sign of anaemia? When is your next appt?

LadyGG I'm 36wks today - 14 days til induction. However, even that's not soon enough for me Grin. Been taking oil of evening primrose for a week and am about to start using them internally Confused

This baby is approx 7lbs already and, let's face it, nothing is going to bring it out before it's ready (except medical induction obv), so I don't think anything I do is going to do any harm! DH is away until next week so I can't rely on him Wink. Mind you, with my spd he's not been able to get near me for weeks...

buttonmoon78 · 01/07/2011 08:02

I thought I had a prolapse. Turned out to be a massive varicose vein Blush

MrsVidic · 01/07/2011 08:06

button I am v [jealous] about your definate date! As I'm measuring small they'll probably let me bake away till labour!
Next mw appt is a week today, may call them later if I can remember where I hid my notes (toddlers love preg notes!)
On the up side I'm only waking for a wee a few times a night so I'm getting about 10 hours sleep every night but know this will stop soon!

mumblebum · 01/07/2011 08:08

MrsVidic my last one was crushing my lungs right up until the day he was born (really helpful alongside a serious chest infection Hmm). I literally woke up one day in labour and able to breathe for the first time in a couple of months! It might be worth getting your blood pressure checked though?

I'm 39+1 today. Last one arrived at 39+1 but nothing doing here this morning. Oh apart from DD deciding she's not well enough for sports day and DS deciding he's too tired for pre-school, and me being to tired to argue with either of them! At least there's less running around and hanging around for me.

buttonmoon78 · 01/07/2011 08:11

In your shoes I'd have bundled them off anyway simply to enjoy the peace mumble!

I'm off the get my last baby item today - a changing mat - and then to get a few more bits for me in terms of pads (boob and bottom!) and a few of my toiletries in travel size. I don't intend to be in long (4hours post birth last time) but it pays to be prepared!

tadd · 01/07/2011 08:29

Morning all!
Thought things were getting started last night...........but no!
Getting very frustrated now, due date on Sunday!
Got all my fingers crossed that something happpens soon!
I hope everyone else is ok!

LadyGoneGaga · 01/07/2011 11:11

Button they may be inducing me as well. But bloody consultant refused to discuss it last appt until they know whether they are putting me on insulin or not. If they put me on insulin will prob be induced at 38 weeks. Otherwise they won't let me go much past due date. Am hoping to bypass all this and get baby out myself. But last time I tried everything from 37 weeks and DS came on his due date so not hopeful! Next appt at 38 weeks.

Anyway, can't go into labour this weekend. Am surrounded by boxes and moving house on Monday. Betcha waters go on Sunday!

MrsV* could be anaemia or could just be baby's run out of space. Another rubbish thing to put up with. Prolapse doesn't sound like much fun - what sort of prolapse? Would pelvic floor exercises help at this point or is it shutting gate after horse has bolted?

Mumble I would def have got them out of the way as well! Hopefully as they both feel poorly they will lounge around quietly watching CBeebies?

Good luck to everyone else - let's get some babies out!

mumblebum · 01/07/2011 13:55

I managed to convince DD to change her mind so DS and I have spent the morning watching. I took a deckchair to sit in while I watched and every time we had to move someone swooped in and picked it up and carried it to the next point Grin. There are some advantages to being obviously hugely pregnant!

witches · 01/07/2011 17:22

Aaaaaaahhhhhhhh! Thats all really. Man im over this pregnancy and fed up of being made to feel by most health professionals that you are just makingthings up or crazy. I wasnt crazy but may well be now... Come on baby!

Lolly1985 · 01/07/2011 18:40

mrsvidic thanks 4 that, needed 2 calm down a bit I think!
LGG insulin is 2 lower your blood sugar so if they put u on that you need to eat regularly because its much more dangerous to have low blood sugar than high blood sugar. My friend had gestational diabetes and ended up having her baby by c-section 3 weeks early, he was 10lbs 3oz. I'd get them 2 look at your babys growth by scan b4 making any decisions.
Couple of questions 1. Do you feel the baby moving while u r in labour? 2. I had pain all over my bump last night that felt like wind but certainly trapped wind wasn't a problem because I'm breaking wind loads! It was weird because it was relieved if I lay on my side but was agony if I was on my back or got up. Its been fine since about 9am and the baby is still moving, not as much as she has been over the past 2 days but still feels strong. Does this mean she's engaging?

Lolly1985 · 01/07/2011 18:56

Sorry ladies, just thought of another question!

I'm always slightly leaking a little bit of pee these days despite doing pelvic floor exercises for months :( unless I break my waters in a big whoosh then go in2, which I know just doesn't happen, how will I know if my waters have broken?
