Hi... so just been confirmed I'm due 10th (ish) of January and would love to get chatting to some others in the same area who are also expecting... As I said In the title that includes those of you due late 2011, as well - it's a very inclusive thread - as long as you'd be able to make some meet ups in Oxfordshire and you're going through some stage of reproduction then you'd be welcome :-)

I know there's at least one more of you out there (ghost - you there?)

Stats time:

MakesCakesWhenStressed - expecting #1 EDD 10 Jan 2012

Well, I saw the doctor for the first time and was given a booking appointment with the midwife in a couple of weeks, so it's all feeling a bit real. Eek! I also bought some decaf tea and can confirm that the Coop decaf tea is really quite lovely and hard to tell it's decaf at all. I'm only in my 6th week and can't wait for my first scan and really keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well.

I would still love to chat with other Oxfordshire ladies who are pregnant, if there are any of you still on this thread!

ghosteditor · 07/02/2012 17:48

Panda, do you happen to know if the Oxford sling workshop is full? I can't make the Wallingford one anymore!

PenguinArmy · 07/02/2012 18:57

I have set up a fb group but there is no longer to option to invite members by email Confused I've had a go anyway but waiting for feedback to see if it works. It doesn't neither say fail nor request sent out when I try. Otherwise I will have to think how to add people without it coming up on peoples timelines.

chocolatesparkle · 07/02/2012 19:38

Hi bee, welcome. I'm still pregnant and will be for a while! Just turning 6 months. I know the first few weeks are tough when you can't 'tell' the real world but I met up with some of the ladies on here when I was 11 weeks and it was great.

Im definitely up for a meet up. I can do Friday afternoon or Saturday day this week. Are those good for others?

PurplePanda · 07/02/2012 20:30

Ghost - I'm not sure if there are spaces at the workshop - details are at: www.oxfordslingmeet.co.uk/workshops/

I'm in for a meet up - but can't make this Friday or Saturday, hopefully will be able to meet you all soon!

Bee - I'm still mainly drinking decaf tea and coffee in the hopes I might be able to nap when the little one is. I can't tell the difference now, I'd recommend Percol coffee.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 07/02/2012 21:42

Penguin, if it's a ' secret' group then nothing from it wil show up on people's timelines. Just make it secret, then invite them as normal :-)

OP posts:
PenguinArmy · 07/02/2012 21:44

It is secret, but it's working out how to invite people as I'm not friends with people (except you of course). Was hoping to find a neat way of doing it rather than friending everyone on fb first. You can invite people as well btw.

PenguinArmy · 07/02/2012 21:57

right I've told DH to google it tomorrow Grin If no luck by tomorrow evening we'll do it by attempting to find each other on fb and adding people from there.

Right I need to sleep as after 12 days I still have a cold and can't take decongestants for the sinus pain as am bf a bottle refusing (so no break) DS.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 08/02/2012 10:22

It's easier if you just add people as fb friends then invite them the standard way

OP posts:
PenguinArmy · 08/02/2012 12:56

It would appear so, we have two options

(i) make the group closed, do not reveal the fact it's a pg group and people can request invites as they can type the url. Once mos people are on, then make the group secret

(ii) find each other on fb and add people that way

you can pm me or makescakes

ghosteditor · 08/02/2012 12:58

See you at the sling meet panda Grin

bee1983 · 08/02/2012 15:15

Hi chocolatesparkle! Six months, eh... I am still at, um, 6 weeks. Early days! Lovely to find this thread though.

PurplePanda - thanks for the recommendation. I do love my coffee.

Rollersara · 08/02/2012 18:28

Just wanted to check in Isla Rose, born in the JR at 14.05 on Monday!

chocolatesparkle · 08/02/2012 20:24

Congratulations roller, what a lovely name.
Hope the birth went well. Can other people do this fri/sat?
The weeks after that I'm going to struggle to meet up unless my work commitments change....I'm trying to negotiate a 40 hour week rather than my current 50-70 hours.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 08/02/2012 20:44

Congratulations Sara! Beautiful name :-)
How you're both well

OP posts:
ghosteditor · 08/02/2012 21:56

Fabulous Sara, congratulations! Hope you're doing well!

I could be free to meet on Friday - in fact I'm due to go see cakes! And I could probably do Saturday too. However, I have a thoroughly awful cold/sore throat combo at the moment which I wouldn't want to inflict on anyone. Am hoping it eases off in time for the sling meet tomorrow !

PurplePanda · 08/02/2012 22:43

Congratulations Sara, lovely name. Hope you're doing well. Thanks

Ghost See you tomorrow, hope you feel better in the morning!

I've got friends coming Fri/Sat this week so can't make the meet up this time, but hope to see everyone next time :)

mildertduck · 09/02/2012 12:52

Hello - almost 28 weeks now! So am I at the same NCT classes as any of you (Botley on Tuesdays)?

ghosteditor · 09/02/2012 18:34

Hey everyone! Let's look at another week for the meet up I guess?

chocolatesparkle · 09/02/2012 21:06

Hi milder, I'm going to Abingdon nct. Currently 26 weeks and starting to feel rather heavy. I was doing yoga but the lady has gone off sick which is a shame.

Would be great to meet you when we next have a gathering as our pregnancies are so close together.

ghosteditor · 09/02/2012 21:41

Chocolate, the yoga that both Lucy and I went to in Woodstock is fantastic - would highly recommend going along if it 's not too far - just look for buddhabellies...

PenguinArmy · 09/02/2012 22:00

I hope everything is going well for you.

We're going to do the fb group by finding each other as friends first so feel free to pm people.

livealoha · 10/02/2012 20:49
