Hi... so just been confirmed I'm due 10th (ish) of January and would love to get chatting to some others in the same area who are also expecting... As I said In the title that includes those of you due late 2011, as well - it's a very inclusive thread - as long as you'd be able to make some meet ups in Oxfordshire and you're going through some stage of reproduction then you'd be welcome :-)

I know there's at least one more of you out there (ghost - you there?)

Stats time:

MakesCakesWhenStressed - expecting #1 EDD 10 Jan 2012

Well, I don't mind, but then I don't have a tiny baby; so to be on the safe side for all the new mummies maybe we should settle on costa in tesco. Lucy, pls can you put tescos address on here, or a link to it?
See you tomorrow Arvo. X

PenguinArmy · 25/01/2012 20:25

Tesco

7 Oxford Retail Park, Oxfordshire, Oxford OX4 6XJ

Lucycarr · 25/01/2012 22:21

Oh dear Ghost poor you fingers crossed bp starts heading the right way : (

Penguin I'm easy but need a few bits from tesco anyway so not all bad.

How old is your toddler? Think I can keep mine entertained long enough for coffee - playdough and colouring books?!

Looking forward to it

Is cakes coming

Ghost if you are up for visitors let me know I can always pop by with cake!

PenguinArmy · 25/01/2012 22:29

mine is two in March, we'll just hit the park tomorrow instead.

perhaps I can arrange another date in a few weeks for anyone local to cowley (or just pm me). I still want to take the bull by the horns so to speak and meet people. Mondays and Fridays are normally clear days for me.

Lucycarr · 25/01/2012 22:52

I could do a park too if you like? Ds would like that.
Who else is coming do you know sparkle?

ghosteditor · 25/01/2012 23:47

Thanks ladies. New drugs are making me feel a bit woo and headachy as well, plus the little one has been on my boob continually for four hours now, just need some sleep!

I think cakes isn't quite feeling up to it yet, at least based on her last text. But I'm really keen for next time so let's try to meet again soon.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 26/01/2012 05:14

Ghost's right - having a hard time atm and dh is about to go back to work, so think will just spend a quiet day at home

have fun and count me in for next one

I don't think I can make today either, been struggling a bit at work and need to catch up on sleep. Maternity leave starts tomorrow so hopefully will cope a bit better then!

Lucycarr · 26/01/2012 10:38

Hmm what's the plan then?
Do you want to wait and arrange another date? Seems like we're fairly thin on the ground?!
I as ever can still make today need some bits from tesco anyway and want to go to mothercare so costa would still work for me or park if nearby

chocolatesparkle · 26/01/2012 10:57

I think in light of all the drop-outs we should defer for a week or so. Lucy, you could still meet up with penguin in the park? Sorry not to be seeing you all, hopefully catch up soon.

Lucycarr · 26/01/2012 11:05

Ok I'm easy
Will look forward to meeting up when everybody is more settled - I have had a head start and a trial run so have an unfair advantage!

PenguinArmy · 26/01/2012 19:06

Lucy DD was talking about the boy with lego and lady who walked until she went to bed

ghosteditor · 26/01/2012 20:27

Ooh glad you had fun! Can't wait until the next one when I can join in!! Smile

Lucycarr · 26/01/2012 22:05

Ah bless her ds got his big bricks out to build towers and said next time we see his friend we will take the bricks and she will know that they are his and not knock them over!
The fire engine was also a huge hit - the firemen waved at him when we were getting in the car : )
Thanks for having us L

PenguinArmy · 27/01/2012 14:58

awww how cute on both counts. I think even I'm jealous of the fireman waving.

ghosteditor · 29/01/2012 15:01

hi ladies, hope you're all well!

does anyone know of a good sling meet in Oxford? I have a Kari Me sling which I love but I'm a little worried that DD isn't in the right position (we're using the curled up newborn hold, not the front to front hold yet) and may be a bit squished up. Could do with some advice from a friendly sling meet! Have been looking at you tube videos but still not quite got the knack...

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 29/01/2012 15:35

Have asked my friend as she's a trained sling advisor and knows all the meets in the area :)

In JR under observation for hypertension :(

Hopefully to be sent home tomorrow ...

ghosteditor · 31/01/2012 19:13

Oh no rollersara! I know what that's like! Hope you're getting some rest - I hated my days on the ward, was boiling and couldn't sleep. Have they given you Nifedipine to bring it down?

Hope it all calms down soon...

Rollersara · 31/01/2012 22:07

Seems all over the place at the moment! Just in for
Observation so no drugs yet!

Looks like baby will be here by her due date one way or another!

Lucycarr · 01/02/2012 03:51

Oh poor you cakes I had that a couple of weeks ago - luckily didn't need anti bs.
Hot shower, massage, paracetamol and continue feeding if still doing so if not a sport bra - fingers crossed it's easily manageable x

Poor you rollersara hope it comes down - safest place for you and babe tho.

Fine thanks ghost - you?! X

PenguinArmy · 01/02/2012 13:24

:( cakes like lucy I managed to avoid ABs with DS a few weeks ago but remember it with DD. This is a good kellymom page]]

ghost have you had help with the sling yet?

PenguinArmy · 01/02/2012 13:25
