How many of you have stretchmarks????

After having my 2 children (6 yrs and 7 yrs) I did/do have stretch marks but on my boobs, hips, bum and that's it. For some strange reason I didn't get any on my stomach.
I have a df who has really deep, train track type ones and I do feel really sorry for her.

I wonder if it is your skin type that decides whether or not you get them?

I have two kids age 4 and 6. I have stretchmarks on my boobs, and hips. None on my stomach, well just one small one which I got right at the end of my pregnancy with dd (through my tattoo!)

gladstone · 08/11/2005 19:15

I think it must be to do with genetics.

I already had lots of stretch marks around the tops of my thighs from puberty (was a skinny thing until about 12, then blossomed/balooned all of a sudden - and got stretch marks), but funnily enough I didn't get any more when I was pregnant. The original ones restretched and got redder again, but no more appeared so my tum and breasts are stretchmark free (although both areas are considerably more dough-like and wibbly).

A friend of mine got really bad stretch marks on one boob, but not on the other, although they looked the same in size.
All very odd.

and my mum had 5 kids and no stretchmarks

I have the really deep train track ones BH, all over my stomach. One looks some much like a scar that a doctor asked me what op i'd had.

frannyandzooey · 08/11/2005 19:20

I have them on my stomach - just thin, silvery ones, but my stomach is now wrinkled and crepey like a very old lady. Nice

LadyTophamHatt · 08/11/2005 20:08

I have them. All mostly below my belly button, the odd one creeps slightly above.

Going up and down from ds1+2 then going across from Ds3.

roosmoo · 08/11/2005 20:12

yep, little ones on boobs that feel like ridges under the skin (pretty much invisible, but i can feel them).
previously nice pert boobs feel a bit like empty socks these days, after ds has had a good feed

Hmmm i got them in the last 4 weeks of pregnancy with my ds, i thought i had escaped them and woke up to find them just below my belly button on my stomach

I am now 30 weeks with my second baby and i seem to have just gained 3 stretch marks above my belly button.....

Thats life i only have them in the lower stomach area thought so suppose i should not moan, i have a friends who has them everywhere and they are big deep lines, ruined her body she hates them.

QueenEagle · 08/11/2005 20:24

I have horrendous stretchmarks on my belly, really deep - looks like a tiger has tried to have me for his dinner. I would never be able to wear a bikini ever again. They make my belly look saggy, crinkled and nasty. If I didn't have any at all I would look pretty much as I did pre my 5 kids except for a few stray pounds here and there.

dh met me when I had tham though and they bother him not one bit which makes me feel a whole load better and damn sexy in the bedroom. Which believe me is fabulous after my ex-dh said he couldn't bear to touch me ever again because of them.

JessicaandRebeccasmummy · 08/11/2005 20:29

all over belly, boobs, upper arms and hips..... my baby marks and i WILL learn to love them!

moondog · 08/11/2005 20:35

None for me, I have two kids. Skin very wobbly though.

sweetkitty · 08/11/2005 20:50

none with DD and fingers crossed none with this one either (30 weeks) think it is genetic, my mum has none (2 kids) neither had my gran (6 kids)

felicity24 · 08/11/2005 20:50

None on stomach but had baby at 34 weeks however I nearly fell over the first time I saw the back of my thighs in full length mirror one was awful as had DVT and leg got huge, they are finally fading but looked like someone had attacked me with magic marker until recently

nooka · 08/11/2005 21:58

No tummy ones, but wrinkly old boobs now I really don't like them at all. Luckily dh seems to find them more attractive now, but I find them depressing, and have even considered a lift (not sure that would help with the texture though).

LilacBump · 08/11/2005 22:01

i have lots on my tummy, some on my boobs and upper arms. don't bother me normally but now i'm pregnant again i am aware lots of people will have to see them and touch my tummy...

whatamess · 08/11/2005 22:03

1 on my tummy from pregnancy (almost invisible) lots on thighs and bums from weight fluctuations - but I looked after my pregnant tum more!!

I don't. Still have 6 weeks to go before this one's due date, however.

I have olive skin - I am of Mexican heritage.
