How many of you have stretchmarks????

After having my 2 children (6 yrs and 7 yrs) I did/do have stretch marks but on my boobs, hips, bum and that's it. For some strange reason I didn't get any on my stomach.
I have a df who has really deep, train track type ones and I do feel really sorry for her.

I wonder if it is your skin type that decides whether or not you get them?

i have stretchmarks right up and under my boobs - i blame the upper ones on the twins.

i point out rather large ones to the twins and tell them that that ones is theirs - they are quite proud of my (their) stretch marks!

I have everybody elses share of stretch marks, every dr i saw while i was pg (and lets face it that was ALOT!) commented on how many i had, i literally did and still so have them everywhere! yes even down there! sorry tmi.

Apparently it was becuase i was so under wieght when i fell pg and turned into such an elephant! that i got so many.

when i got pg with ds i was 7 1/2 stone. by 5 months i had put on 2 stone. i got stretchmarks on my boobs, thighs and bum and put on weight everywhere.

when i got pg with dd i was 9 1/2 stone, i mainly just had the belly and bigger boobs but i didnt get one stretchmark at all.

First pregnancy with dd1 I got stretch marks.
2nd with twins (7 years later) none! And they weren't small babies

Got one from belly button down when I was 41 weeks with ds. Was bit cranky, as I thought had I been on time I wouldn't have got it. Am 15 weeks now, and have several little ones - v. odd and depressing....

did not get any despite having huge babies... my mum never got them either -- so I do think that this is one of the genetic lotteries...

For my first two pregnancies I spent a fortune on this Clarins stuff that was supposed to minimise/stop stretchmarks. What a waste of money (as got loads)- I agree that you are either going to get them or not. I'm on my fourth pregnancy at the mo and funnily haven't had any. Mind you I reckon my belly has been so stretched from the other 3!

Yes. Terrible. it's supposed to be genetic. My Mum and 1 sister didnt get any, but I had pre-eclampsia (actually so did sis no. 2) and I gained 1.5 stones in fluid overnight. No skin can take that punishment!

I have lost loads of weight recently, but as a result of the tissue damage done, my tummy skin is very wrinkled and yuck. TMI I know!

i have lots of them but only on my tummy, nowhere else. Biooil is great for them

never got them, don't know why, never did anything preventitive.

I have a fair few on my stomach and i have sallow skin and my mum and sister got none! and my sister got really fat but not a stretch mark. supposedly the younger you are the more you'll get im only 20 so that kinda makes sense, get a tan and mines become totally unnoticeable and lets face it most partners wouldnt notice if you shaved your head so there not gonna be bothered about stretchmarks!
