DarciesmumandBump2 · 01/05/2011 12:15

Yeah I couldn't be married to anyone in the forces as these 5days are doing me right in and he's only gone on a stag holiday.

Well done you for doing that. I have mush for brains at the moment, always do when I'm pregnant so theres no hope of me studying in the next 7mths lol.

mopsytop · 01/05/2011 14:35

God I really hope that doesn't happen to me as I really have to finish!

zambooloo · 01/05/2011 16:48

Hello everyone,
Welcome back holiday goers! Not much to report here - I just read through some of the other posts and I don't seem to be having many symptoms compared to others which as usual makes me worry! I suppose I should count myself lucky but I have no sickness or nausea, I don't need the toilet any more than usual; however I have been a bit constipated, my boobs are very sore (but haven't grown like others have) and I'm tired but not sleeping.
Can someone please reassure me that everything is fine?!? Thank you! Hmm

mopsytop · 01/05/2011 17:02

Mine come and go and I get nervous too. I think most things are normal! That's what I am telling myself anyway!

OP posts:
BlueCrane · 01/05/2011 17:04

zambaloo I'm sure everything's fine...people's symptoms seem to come and go...my boobs were v sore last weekend, fine all week and then sore again today...no logic!! Constipation and tired but not sleeping are also 'good symptoms' if that makes any sense! It's natural to have doubts but when i'm having mine I just keep telling myself that it's all fine unless I get bad cramps and bleeding...I know that sounds a bit drastic but I'm just trying hard to stay positive! Hang in there!! I think we'll all feel better once we get our scans done and can start telling people!

I felt as though I had a million eyes on my bloated tum at church this morning - there's 4 women pg there at the mo and a load of my friends are recent Mum's and keep wondering when it's our turn so am sure are watching me like hawks! Was so paranoid choosing what to wear this morning, not helped by the fact everything is so tight and I normally like to wear fitted tops! Will be glad when i don't have to hide it anymore!

zambooloo · 01/05/2011 17:12

Thank you! I know I'm being silly - I keep telling myself the same thing, that as long as there is no bleeding or severe cramps then all is fine! I can't wait until I've had scan - I'll be much more relaxed then! Everyone at the school I teach at is on pregnancy alert too - theres a lot of 'who's going to be next then?' as 2 of my colleagues are now both about 4 1/2 months - there seems to be pregnant people everywhere!

antheasa · 01/05/2011 17:55

hi ladies, hope you all had a fab weekend, Thanks for the update good egg thats so cool to know. Boobs are killing me, already feel like udders. Totally agree mopsytop this feels like its going so slowly .

antheasa · 01/05/2011 18:05

thanks good egg just downloaded that iphone app its really awesome

Felicific · 01/05/2011 18:13

mopsytop i started bleeding last mon and still going - old but still worrying as fairly consistent. Had blood tests and my hormone levels are doubling nicely so they think can't ectopic but want to go for an early scan as lots of people who've had same have ended badly. Sure nothing to worry about. Glad i'm not the only one with a deadline in Sep (MA not PhD so no where near as much) but have stopped beating myself up about the limited work i've done over the last week or so!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 01/05/2011 19:52

Just checking in, hope everyone is alright and had a good day.

Had a lovely dinner at the in-laws today. Roll on weds when my love gets home, had enough now. Feel nauseous and tired still :(

Roll on 30th May and hopefully we will be able to hear babys heartbeat for first time :) then see it the week after hehe.

mopsytop · 01/05/2011 20:16

Oh Felicific I hope everything is okay. How worrying. I think it is totally acceptable not to have worked much last week. I did hardly anything the week after I found out I was UTD and nothing even to worry about. I am going to be immensely strict with myself from now on and no internet except for work purposes until after work. So I will be coming on to this thread every evening as soon as I get home I suspect!!

I hope everything is okay now for you, and that the early scan is reassuring.

goodegg · 01/05/2011 21:10

Take it easy Felicific , if your hcg levels are increasing it's hopefully nothing to worry about. Good luck with early scan x

figgygal · 01/05/2011 22:47

Well after yesterday of notgetting dressed and sitting on the bathroom floor by the loo in case I threw up holding my head cos it hurt soooo bad have been 100% today u wouldn't know anything had been up yesterday weird!!!!!

goodegg · 01/05/2011 23:42

figgy Grin at not getting dressed - I didn't move from the sofa all day today, was almost in tears at the idea of the M and S posh moussaka for one I was meant to have for lunch. Only ate dry oatcakes all day, then demanded DH go to the shops and buy me Swiss rolls Hmm and peanut butter.

Best food ever is officially peanut butter on toast [bliss]

Cherrypi · 02/05/2011 08:28

Ooh may try that now. Found eating keeps away the nausea but only carbs. Fruit has no effect. Have also gone off the smell of cooked egg yuck.

mopsytop · 02/05/2011 11:56

Hi everyone, I am not starting work until after lunch today in case you are wondering why I am breaking my self-imposed internet ban during working hours! goodegg I barely ever eat peanut butter but have had peanut butter on toast three times this weekend!! Yum yum yum. So many things I normally love are making me feel really ill though, e.g. roast beef (or any kind of beef), cheese and loads of other things. It seems to vary from day to day. Luckily I am still loving fruit and veg and water, which will be good for the bean.

Such gorgeous weather and only 1 hour left until have to get back down to it. I have just had 10 lovely days so I can't complain but I am greedy and want more time off to relax in the sun!

Figgygal glad you are feeilng better today.
Felicific hope all is going okay today.
Darciesmum only 2 days to go!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 02/05/2011 12:40

Mopsy enjoy your last 30mins in the sun.

Sickness has really kicked in and need to battle this pile of ironing :(

2 more sleeps xx

BlueCrane · 02/05/2011 12:49

Hello all...you're doing well darcies not too much longer to go! I also have a pile of ironing to do and I feel v nauseous and wiped out and have a constant dull headache that I can't seem to shift!

Quite upset that I might be going off cheese - I love the stuff normally Sad and I'm craving salty things. Went to see a friend last night (who knows I'm PG) was so nice to sit and chat and not worry about what i say but the strange thing was I didn't fancy a single one of the large box of Thorntons chocs she had on offer for me...I'd usually guzzle down half the box!! Very strange...

DarciesmumandBump2 · 02/05/2011 13:36

Blue Thanks I think this will of been one of the longest weeks of my life! My parents have taken DD out to the seafront to see the heavy horses show so I can have a couple of hrs peace and try not to throw up everywhere. Need some TLC by my man.

Felt quite deflated last night tho, he said he was free to talk if I could call him as skype connection was pants, so called and he sounded like he couldn't be arsed to talk to me :( even tho he said can I call him. He said its because his lunch order was ready and he was rushing to meet the guys. I didn't get one how are you feeling or anything not a happy bunny at all last night very tearful - blooming hormones.

LivinInTheMoment · 02/05/2011 16:26

Goodegg I must get myself into m&s for new wire-free boulder holders!

felici didn't know that about the solpadeine or iburprofen, thanks!

Actually has anyone tried the headache pads that you put on your forehead? I think they are drug-free, just natural stuff in them.

Still getting odd fluttery bubbly cramps, this is still normal? I'm at 5wks+3.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 02/05/2011 16:29

Living That is prob stretching cramps you can feel.

Not tried the headache pads.

goodegg · 02/05/2011 16:38

Livin yep I had cramps until about last week almost daily. Stretching of uterus I think but also might be constipation and wind, was in my case what was causing bloating!!

JMoodles · 02/05/2011 16:47

Hi Everyone

Congratulations to you all!

I too am due my first and only just found out I'm pregnant a week ago - am almost 6 weeks so can completely empathise with the excitement / hoping everything goes ok at this early stage. Hugely excited though (after being completely shell-shocked for a few days initially!).

No major symptoms other than enormous and really sensitive boobs - am actually researching places near me that do decent bras for this early stage (I had no idea you would even notice so early on!!!)

figgygal · 02/05/2011 16:57

Congrayts J Moodles

Ladies are you intending your OH's to come to your first appt with the midwife? Have finally got mine next week and he wants to come and obviously i am happy for him too but not sure much comes out of the appt anyway. Anyone know is it unusual for them to come to these appts? Scans i can see the chaps going to but what about the first appt? Though if they take blood he is coming as i will prob pass out dont give blood well (not because i am squeamish but because my body likes to keep it inside me)

I read one thread where someone's partner went with her and the MW took this as a sign of his controlling wifebeating nature and as soon as he was out of the room was asking her about domestic abuse (wtf???). Dont want that happening here!!

LivinInTheMoment · 02/05/2011 16:59

Ta ladies, Does the uterus keep stretching like this all through pg?

Welcome JMoodles and Congrats! Yes the boobs is a shocker to me too, I had no idea the sensitivity and fullness would happen so soon!
